    I delivered a Cat loader backhoe on a small back street of Boston. Had to drop the trailer in front of one house and left the truck/gooseneck in front of the next house so I wouldn't block a driveway. As I was unloading an old woman was walking by real slow, looking at everything, never said a word. I took the backhoe up this long driveway that went to the next block and walked back to see a cop with lights on and standing next to my truck. I thought "O boy, trouble" I asked what's up? He said we got a call from an older lady; she said a truck had broken in half on her road. He laughed and said have a nice day and left.

    I used to drive for a logging company. Hauled some equipment when the boss needed stuff moved one Saturday and no one wanted to work. He said I didn't know you could work a low boy. I told him you never asked. From then on he used me quite often. Moving equipment paid a little more than a load of logs. We had a couple of Morebark whole tree chippers that weighed a little over 100.000 pounds. Had to get permits when we moved them. He would pay 100.00 extra for moving one. He was good to me that way. Got to the woods one day and one needed moving and I was the only truck back so he asked can you move that thing? I said hook me up and we will see. That was in the mid eighties. Seems a lifetime ago now. I was 26 and single and rough as a cobb. I drove a 1985 Ford LTL9000 with a 400 Cummins and a 13 speed. Had 44,000 rears and was black with aluminum rims and fuel tanks and I kept it spotless. Had to leave it when my father got sick. Thanks for the ride. Your truck sounds sweet.....

    I was a truck driver in the Army 1996-2002. I was not a truck driver in the civilian world but I do like the Mack Cab overs and any other cab overs. I like the design of the cabovers but the long noses have their place too. I recently watched a video truck driving in New York City and parallel parking, that was some cool shit! Great videos! Especially when the three truck drivers overtook three lanes on a bridge. Amazing!

    Four wheelers need to know that the turn signals on large commercial trucks and Motorcycles do not cancel out automatically I know this because I was a Truck driver I had a 2007 F 150 pickup New and the Signals did not cancel after completing your turn

    I use too block lanes and took all the necessary room I needed so I would not hit any one or anything the last thing I wanted to do was have a chargeable accident but it did happen too me it’s on my record I will say no more the police see it in a different way my company actually took my side in the matter but it did not help I always did what I had to do to get the job done I never wanted to disapointed my Public they always told me I was Number “1”

    If in in a spot like you were in that first turn, I'll just split the lane so no one can come on the inside of me but I still have room to make the turn & scoot over to the left once I'm through the turn.

      That's what I do, especially when I'm oversized. Can't put an ounce of trust in these idiots on the road to not run into the side of you because they can't wait 2 seconds. I'll make you wait then.

    Good ole PA, half those roads up there can be bad enough for a 53’ reefer or a dry van to the inexperienced.

  • @MeisterSpade
    @MeisterSpade 2 дні тому

    Random question, brother; how do you grow the confidence to drive that long rig into the places you do? Like tight city streets and whatnot? Is it a case of "it has to be done so I'm just gunna send it" and then you just get better and more comfortable with it? Or do you think there's a certain amount of natural talent that you just have to have?

    • @Only4Trucks
      @Only4Trucks  2 дні тому +1

      @@MeisterSpade I genuinely believe I was born with a special talent as far as operating and driving. I have this feeling as if what I’m in is an extension of myself and I question if others feel or understand that. Secondly I learned early on to remind myself that if I pull in somewhere no matter what I can back out. So if it’s my setup can fit somewhere I’ll get it there. If I learn it’s impossible I’ll just back out. That’s always been my motto. I appreciate you watching and I appreciate that question!
