The pre-departure boiled sweet swings it for me 😂 Love the dry humour and thanks for continuing to make honest reviews, unlike so many UA-camrs (who’ve sold their souls to the devil and are nothing more than paid ads for the airlines) you’ve kept it real. Trust and respect for that Paul 👍
I love Aegean. I wish they did long haul. I have flown them on domestic flights within Greece and i have never seen any airline to try and serve you drinks and a snack during a 45 minute flight. If they get turbulance and they are unable to achieve this they apologise for not offering their full standard of hospitality. Also the flight crew are impecable, friendly, efficient and eager to help. Well done Aegean.
Michail Sykianakis in Thailand, I’ve had extreme turbulence on Bangkok Airways and they still serve a full hot meal on a 40 minute ATR 72 flight. (To be fair, it’s a hot main course with a pack of pretzels as a snack)

I'm a huge fan of Aegean. Top notch service provided by young enthusiastic, well groomed ever smiling cabin crews. Soon they will be flying brand new A320 neos.
I remember when I was 3 years old, I flew with original Olympic Airlines from Manchester to Maputo (In Mozambique) via Athens. And now, almost 16 years later, I will be flying on the revamped Olympic Air on my tour of Greece.

Very good video. Thanks for the great filming. I absolutely love Aegean, I think they are bar far ahead of the competition as the best airline in Europe. They have amazing friendly staff, the food is brilliant and they are always on time.
I use Aegean regularly from Berlin to Athens and I have to say business class on that route is even better ! Smaller number in business class and even more attentive service. I qualify for a Silver card and that gives my four lounge passes for Athens and two free upgrades to business class. The Aegean Lounge at Athens Airport (Schengen only) is pretty good. Aegean's attention to detail is superb. Even in Economy there is a full range of special meals and I always choose the seafood option which seems to get me a slightly better meal in economy (and I like fish). My choice of meal is remembered so it is automatically chosen each time I book. Wine in economy is also very good. Because of the pandemic, Aegean extended the validity of my frequent flyer card by six months, very generous I thought. When we are all flying again Paul, maybe you could film my regular trip ? Berlin to Athens with Aegean. Transfer to Piraeus and then 19.00 ferry departure to Syros (Mon, Wed, Fri). I know you like your food Paul and this boat has a full service restaurant with truly excellent food and wine at very reasonable prices. Syros is the hidden gem of the Aegean. Medieval City and Cathedral, neo gothic 19th century architecture and beautiful 19th century opera house modelled on La Scala, Milan.

Aegean is not a low cost airline I believe and their fleet looks extremely young despite its age but that will change in a few years since they ordered new aircraft still they need to improve a lot of things (most importantly the ife) but they are doing extremely well so far
Thanks Paul great report. Nice to see the city I call my second home. Brugge (Flemish spelling). Happy to see that others have had nice experiences with aegean. Unfortunately I’ve only flown with them twice of which the second time was the worst flight experience I’ve ever had. It mainly comes down to an incident where my girlfriends seat was occupied when we boarded the airplane. An older woman was sitting in her seat and the woman didn’t speak english so communicating with her was difficult. After about a minute or so one of the crew members seemed to notice and started walking down the aisle. When she came to my girlfriend standing in the aisle trying to communicate with the older lady the crew member just walked straight past to the back of the airplane. She did something back there and shortly walked back to the front passing my girlfriend once again without doing anything to resolve the seating issue. Almost everyone else was already seated at this point when another passenger a few rows back stood up, walked to my girlfriend and managed to communicate with the lady and resolve the issue. Apparently the lady seemed to have mixed up an 8 and a B on her ticket. I just can’t get over the complete lack of attempting to help from the staff. Hopefully it was just a one off incident.
Great vlog as always. Not a good idea to watch in bed late at night. Now, I am super hungry! That food looked great! One thing I find stange is the bare sholders of the FA.
Aegean has been voted as the best regional airline in Europe for several years so this is not a surprise. I have done some videos of them on my channel. Olympic airlines was taken over by aegean only about 5 years ago so no need to be too old to remember them. OA used to fly to LHR on A340 and I’ve been on one of those flights in 2008! Nice report!
Really informative report this week Paul. Clearly enjoyed the flight. I loved the little bit to Olympic as it brought back memories of when I did some flying for them a few years ago on the Q400.
That baklava looked really yummy, made with pistachios, not just walnuts! Very authentic! Cheers! I'm surprised you haven't had that before this flight!
Awesome, great report. I tried to film where you started this video the other day, man it was like a wind tunnel, insane, had to go inside. I found a bargain on Aegean from LHR-ATH-TLV roundtrip for about 156 pounds, so looking forward to my experience with them, but in economy. Looked like a great day to take off at LHR, very nice. Food looked very good, really enjoyed this one. Thanks Paul.
That’s very cheap to get to TLV, how are you flying back? Spoiler alert, their economy was pretty good as well on the ATH/BEG sector. I like that little landing area at T2 as you can see right over to T4 which IMO is the most interesting in terms of exotic airlines.
Exactly why I jumped on it, yeah it has a connection, but I could have gone with Easyjet for about 250 return non-stop, or paid a little more for Swiss around 270, and BA were high but dropped the fare to under 390. But then that came up and I jumped on it.
Aegean bought Olympic Airlines a while ago, but Olympic is now just a local airline within Greece. Olympic sounds more international but they won't exchange names given Aegeans good reputation.
Wonder if the that model of the Canada 787 will fit in a carry-on? Very nice report as always. The Aegean aircraft looks very similar to the United livery minus the globe... Nice plane spotting on the taxi out.
Yep flew Olympic to Athens 1981 at the time of Charles and Di’s wedding. Stayed in Glyfada or as was know at the time the south end of Athens runway. You felt like you could reach up and touch the plans as they took off over head. A lovely holiday though as after a few days you didn’t even notice the planes!

Awesome report .. I like your new style 😁 greeting from oman
Welcome to Greece, Paul!! Nice tripreport! Hope you had a great time aboard aegean!
Great video....Ken Bunnick gave you a shout out. His and yours are the only ones I watch for planes/trains.
I think I saw this flight when I was plane spotting! Great trip report!
My Trips Aegean never took over from Olympic Airlines. OAL closed in 2009.
My dude I always enjoy your soothing videos, take a look at the new DJI gimble I’ve used one a lot recently and it’s soo good
Just got an Aegean add before watching the video 😂
As always, Great trip report!!
Loved that! another great report Paul. I also think Aegean are top notch and plan to fly them soon! Look fwd to your next one thanks Paul.
Love your videos!! Thanks!! A bit wobbly in parts but look forward to your next videos. Have you done any channel Island flights?
...That Is a Neat Lounge AC has....Lots of Good Food...
Another cracking vid Paul 👍👍
Been looking forward to a Greek one! Good if you could do skiathos - one of the shortest runways in the world I believe
Brilliant. Loving your videos Paul.
great video Paul! yet again!
James in Economy? Most of the time you are in BC or FC.
That’s very cheap to get to TLV, how are you flying back? Spoiler alert, their economy was pretty good as well on the ATH/BEG sector. I like that little landing area at T2 as you can see right over to T4 which IMO is the most interesting in terms of exotic airlines.
Paul's Trip Reports The price I paid was for a return.. .. that's how good it was.
Holy hell that’s cheap. Always wanted to visit TLV.
Exactly why I jumped on it, yeah it has a connection, but I could have gone with Easyjet for about 250 return non-stop, or paid a little more for Swiss around 270, and BA were high but dropped the fare to under 390. But then that came up and I jumped on it.
A beautiful landing!👏
Loving the scruffy 'extra from Das Boot' face fur
Aegean bought Olympic Airlines a while ago, but Olympic is now just a local airline within Greece. Olympic sounds more international but they won't exchange names given Aegeans good reputation.
Aegean took over Olympic Air. The original Olympic Airways ceased operations much longer ago.
Baklava is my favourite dessert ♥️♥️♥️
Nice! (this Swede actually landed at CHQ yesterday :) /close enough
