- Aegean Trip Report onboard a new Airbus A320 from Madrid to Athens on my the channels first trip to Greece.
This was my first time to Greece, so to Athens, and also my first time flying with Aegean. Also, of course, the first Aegean Trip Report on the channel. I would like this flight to have happened in other circumstances, but we did it during the COVID crisis, so expect all restrictions and rules both onboard and the airports.
It was a very pleasant flight with Aegean to Athens, with some planespotting (including the Aegean A320neo), some amazing views of the Greek Islands, a comfortable plane and an onboard catering "adapted" to the actual pandemic context.

I do agree! Together with Austrian Airlines, they offer one of the best product in economy class all around Europe.

Amazing! Aegean airlines is going under a complete renovation, with 46 A320neos and A321neos in order and the oldest a320s and a319 are going to be retired. Athens airport is also under a big expansion program.
I had good experiences flying with Aegean. I did another 2 flights with them and also were good. The only "con" is that one of those flights was planned with the A320neo... but at the end it was just a normal A320ceo with Sharklets. Anyway, they will come soon to the channel those trip reports!

Great Trip Report! The views on approach to Athens were amazing. Makes me wish I could be away on holiday this year. I flew with Aegean for the 1st time in January this year and found the service very good. Much better than any other European airline. ✈️

I wanted so much to try Aegean during their "normal" operations, I mean, before COVID... let's see after it how it will be.
For now one, I have soon more flights with Aegean and 1 of them is planned on the A320neo :)

Great video. Thanks for sharing. I flew Aegean from Chania to Athens, then Athens to Amsterdam last year. That was my first time on that airline and I enjoyed it very much. Hope you had fun in Greece. Beautiful country, history, food, and wonderful people.

I was last year in Athens and i have visit the famous landmark The Acropolis with the Parthenon , and from there i had a amazing view over the whole City and the aegean Isles in the back ! That was a expierience that i will never forget !

I have flown many times with Aegean since I’m Greek! The last flight was from Brussels to Athens. Very pleasant experience every time with Aegean!

Una tierra donde se percibe y siente una energía especial y diferente, energía ancestral de nuestros antepasados que crearon el sistema político basado en la democracia. This was my first time in Greece, but hopefully not the last one. Actually, I would love to make flights do different Greek Islands. As you say, the approaches here are amazing :)

En mi opinión, Aegean es de las mejores aerolíneas para volar por Europa en economy class. Junto con Austrian Airlines, creo que las 2 ofrecen el mejor producto para ese tipo de vuelo.

Actually, It was just a connecting flight. I didn't go outside the airport (well, just to the front to record a little from outside). I didn't leave the airport area.

For now, I don't have anything booked with Vueling, but I think I will do it soon. Maybe for late-September, max October I will. However, if everything goes as planned, we'll have a huge variety of airlines during the next months :)

La verdad es que mientras grababa las vistas sobre Grecia... me parecía que podía quedar un vídeo bastante bonito. Sin embargo, no llegué a pensar que pudiese quedar así hasta que me puse a editarlo jeje No queda demasiado bien que yo lo diga... pero ha quedado bastante bonito jeje
Cuando sobrevolábamos Ítaca recordé la película de dibujos animados sobre la Odisea de Ulises que mi padre me ponía cuando era pequeño. Recuerdo que no me gustaba nada la película, pues era más un documental en dibujos que una película, pero gracias a ella, ahora se toda la historia.

Me gustan mucho los paisajes de verano de España desde el cielo. Yo viajé dos veces a España con motivo de Navidad y el Día de reyes magos, y me imaginaba cómo serían los paisajes de tu país de verano. : D Aunque la aerolínea Aegean opera solamente aviones de fuselaje estrecho, me parece que la calidad de su servicio a bordo es muy alta

Aegean me parece una de las mejores aerolíneas en Europa. Una pena que Atenas no quede mucho más en el centro de Europa para poder volar más veces con ellos en vuelos de conexión...

Butter landing! Volé con ellos de JMK a ATH en el A321. Una pregunta, como se pueden distinguir a simple vista los motores CFM de los IAE?
Los motores CFM son más anchos y mas cortos que los IAE. Los IAE son más alargados y estrechos.
A la hora de aplicar las reversas al aterrizar, en los motores CFM se abren como 4 "aletines", mientras que en los IAE se separa la "carcasa" del motor, más o menos desde la mitad, hacia atrás en una única pieza.
Preciosas las imágenes de Grecias desde el aire con ese color turquesa de las costas....¿Olimpic Air es Olimpic Airways?...Gracias por el video..

Tu vuelo hacia Atenas estuvo muy bonito por las zonas donde pasaba, que tal te pareció el aeropuerto de Atenas y el servicio de Aegean? Me dió la impresión de que es un aeropuerto un poco antiguo por la estructura y algunos vehículos que pude observar durante el rodaje, hasta pude presenciar antiguos autobuses Cobus de primera generación en servicio para transportar los pasajeros a la terminal, excelente vuelo.

El servicio de Aegean es de los mejores de Europa en Economy class. Sin embargo, estuvo muy marcado por el COVID. La comida a bordo suele ser comida caliente y bastante abundante.Sin embargo, con las restricciones del COVID esto se vio muy reducido.
El aeropuerto principal de Atenas era el que se ve durante la aproximación "metido" en la ciudad de Atenas. Con vistas a los Juegos Olímpicos de 2004, se construyó este nuevo aeropuerto al que volamos hoy, y que ha sustituido al otro.

Una duda,vueling en la t3?? Antes iban a la t4.y air europa en la 4?? Cuando han sido los cambios?
En el propio vídeo digo que los aviones están estacionados en la T3 y que sólo están en uso las terminales 1 y 4. Los aviones de Vueling no están en uso. Están con los motores y sensores tapados. Es aparcados ahí por meses hasta que vuelvan a volar. Vueling nunca dejó de operar en la T4.

Onboard una pregunta en los aeropeurtos que as estado despeus del covid los rodajes son menos largos por la baja dela base aerea o el rodaje es normal
Los rodajes son exactamente los mismos. Los aeropuertos no han cambiado nada.
Lo único en Madrid es que la pista 36R está cerrada por tener menos tráfico ahora mismo. Despegamos por la 36L que está más cerca de la terminal. Eso es todo.

I should go to Greece in August from Italy, but I think I cancel because they strongly advised me not to because the flight could be canceled because there are not enough passengers, I should travel with this company. The resort in Crete also told me that they will open a few days after our arrival for the same reason. We are very afraid of wasting money, what do you recommend? I think the airline's schedule for August is already closed. I mean, they won't be making changes to them. If you've already booked the trip, I would go definitely. Just my point of view. :)

El precio de los billetes es algo que nunca digo, excepto que alguien me lo pregunte directamente en los comentarios. No es relevante el precio, pues el que puedas encontrar tu para cualquier día puede ser totalmente distinto.
En este caso concreto, pagué alrededor de 90 euro.
