    Thanks Richard. Excellent explanation of both tools. Thank you. However, is there any chance your logo could be smaller as I could not see how you selected the Gradient Map tool as it was hidden by the logo!!

    Wowzers, amazing. Im an affinity designer user and I’ve avoided using affinity photo but now my work demands it and I’m starting to see what a beast of a program this is

    This is the 2nd tutorial of yours I've watched (the first being last weeks threshold/dodge/burn one) and I'll definitely be using this going forward. Now I'll have to go back and watch the rest! Thanks for putting the time and effort in, it's appreciated. I'll be sure to tag you on Instagram again once I've created something awesome!

    Thanx a lot DF for all your work. But this one is really new/interesting for "further user".... BTW: you can also create a pallete/swatches( direct from a layer/group without the often click-marathon-file-search.....) just hide/unvisibel the other groups/layers. Well, the there is no fast "hide all other layers/groups"... and there are other NO-ygtwys-TRAPS.... and there this is no option how many colours you want, but this "fast/dirty" is even faster with this automatic generated swatch-palette of round 30 entries (sort by dark to bright automatically!), than the click-click-clik-finder-search....Test it please, with the traps and limits...... BTW: if you expand/recreate your TOOL-series (by a mega-update/lot new features....) please dont forget the BOTTOM line with all the special-keys for the current tool!!!! Thanx a lot for your work, espacilly the tool-series (even i very AP familiar learned a lot by this special-item-vids) . wwg1wga ww

    Really great tutorial. Thanks so much for this. I took it by chance to immediately practice on an example. One thing I wondered was if it is really necessary to use the color picker and I found out that it's obviously not. When you select the color (min 12:03) you can change from HSL Color Wheel to Swatches which also shows the previously created colors out of the image to select from there.

      @@DigitallyFearless Thanks for your kind feedback. I didn't know this either. I just tried it because when using the color picker from these tiny icons it's sometimes not easy to be precise enough. Event though it might be not that important for the Gradient Map. Thanks again for your tutorials, great work. 👍

    I just came across this tutorial- simply brilliant! Quick question; is there any impact on the file size if you use an adjustment rather than the fill tool?

  • @alejmc

    Great tutorial.
    Isn’t it too many clicks color picking though? I it would be great if we could just double click on the gradient point node and that opens the color dialog, or single-click and alt-click for color picking, etc... currently it’s: click the gradient point, click on the color field box, click on the circle next to the color picker icon, click on the color, CLICK AGAIN to confirm the color picked gets assigned... hmm.

    • @DigitallyFearless
      @DigitallyFearless  3 роки тому +1

      Yes, I totally agree. I have always felt the same about picking the colors as you do.

      You could click on the drop down menu for "HSL Color Wheel" and select "Swatches" instead of using the eyedropper.

    When I put the gradient tool on a photo I lose the photo.

    • @DigitallyFearless
      @DigitallyFearless  7 місяців тому +1

      Gradient map is for the photo. Gradient tool is best used for a new fill layer above the photo and then when you can change the blending mode to see your photo.
