I completely understand why you live in Poland. My father and step mother were Polish and we visited every year or two from 1968. In that year, we witnessed the huge build up of Russian troops, tanks and aircraft all across Eastern Europe and were only 20km from the Czechoslovakian border during the invasion. The Poles have preserved their beautiful architectural heritage, they are blessed with beautiful mountains, forests and pasture and have a culture that respects hard work and education. Although born and raised in England, I have claimed my Polish citizenship and have dual nationality. I live in France at the moment but love Poland too.
❤️❤️❤️ I must come and visit Poland 🇵🇱 I am second generation Pole and was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. All my grandparents were born in Poland and came to the states via Ellis Island. My parents also born and raised in Chicago. Thank God they instilled good morals and values and we kept numerous Polish traditions. You and Mike are now my FAVORITE You Tubers! Mike speaks Polish very well and you speak English very well too😊
Hello from Connecticut, if you ever come here , you should visit Broad St. in New Britain during the daytime. The Polish food to be found there is wonderful.
Your videos really want me to go visit my home country. I have never been there although am 100% Polish. Born in England when may parents were forced to leave during the war.
Good selection of pasztecik at the shop. Your Polish is good, Mark. The more you use it, the better it will get. Like me, your accent will always give you away. lol
I wanted to send you guys a HUGE thank you, through your walking food tours, I have been able to show my girls places I used to go w my Babcia when I'd visit her in Szczecin as a kid, I might have cried a tiny bit because they'll probably never get to experience Szczecin like i did as a kid on vacation from Canada
My granddaughter who just had her 6th birthday is Lady Jade Rose Ann Marie of Pomerania and Livonia per HRH Royal Prince Jon Dee Wright. This was amazing and hoping the family will be taking a vacation soon to visit. Absolutely stunning and the food is the best!
Had a little chuckle when I saw the sign for Columbus Coffee; wasn't sure that's what it said as you were walking to pick up lunch but after I was sure - I live in Columbus, Ohio! As mentioned before, it is good to hear Polish, my mama has been gone for 20 years and there is no one around to speak. I am trying to learn again as my plans are to do an ancestry tour in 2022; don't want to go on a group and hoping to find a driver/translator.
Thank you for the tours of Szczecin, my mother grew up there and I still have cousins living there! Someday I would like to visit Szczecin but only in the summer lol!
I haven't made it for the channel yet, but I will for sure. If you can't wait I do have the recipe on my website. Thanks for watching! www.polishyourkitchen.com/polishrecipes/polish-sauerkraut-and-mushroom-hand-pies-paszteciki-z-kapusta-i-z-grzybami/
I am Polish. I cook my great Aunts food that they taught me. They took me to Poland in 1980 when I was 15 to see where my great grandmother grew up. I want to go back. No one wants to go with me after the situation is over 😥
Thank you both. Hate winter. Grew up in West Virginia. Now live in Flordia panhandle on a little bayou. Still gets cold here from Dec to end of Feb. Tolerable but when you get acclimated to 100°F in the summers, 30°F IS REALLY COLD. LOVE TGAT YOU ARE SGARING WITH US. 🙏🙏🙏💖💖💖
Both sides of my family (mom and dads came from POLAND Germany, "thank you Ancestory.com census records from 100 years ago)...... beautiful.....don't stop doing these travelogs...even if they are daily life....especially now with the stay at home "orders" / travel advisories, it is a way for US to get out.....dude, just saw you have some INK too.....cool.....I found you guys a few months ago so I haven't yet gone way "back in the past" videos (which would have tipped me off). GREAT VIDEO!!!!!
Thanks so much for this video. We missed Szczecin and paszteciki so much. You took us to the places that we use to go many years ago and thanks to you we had a chance to see them again. I'm so happy that paszteciki place looks exactly the same like we remembered. It was really emotional tour for us.Thanks again 😍Greetings from Toronto.
Wow you guys do a great job with the travelogues. My mother would have enjoyed this. I hope she can see Poland from heaven. Stay safe and warm. Love you for all you do.
Hi I used to love getting paszteciki for breakfast when on business travel in Gdańsk. In Gdańsk they were more of a flakey pastry than a fried dough. Is that a regional difference?
I'm not sure it it's a regional difference as it is more of just a different way of making the pasztecik. similar fillings, just different pastry's. We find several kinds of pasztecik in my area and love them all! Thanks for watching!
I’m loving your out and about videos. Don’t get me wrong, I adore your home-cooking vids so much!! Mark, you can be naughty. Lol. ❤️ (By the way, I have a PYK apron. It’s my favorite apron!)
That was lovely. Thank you. And you may complain about the amount of dough to filling in your food, but really, do you think McD or Harvey or A&W are any better? You have been away a long time. Especially when you consider price. Yow. That's what it's worth. The difference in pricing is paying for mega commercials. That's one thing you haven't mentioned. What is commercial tv like? What kind of programming and commercials are you seeing? Anyway, very enjoyable. Keep having a good time!
I really enjoy your days out. I was born there and it brings up a lot of memories! You take it for granted when you're there but seeing it on your videos you realize how beautiful it is.
Now? Maybe if we can keep yet another war from beginning here maybe all that lovely restoration work will actually be seen, intact, by many future generations, eh?
A question about the actual restaurant, was their more than one location for Pasztecik? I remember as a kid, that you used to be able to watch the paszteciki on like a Ferris wheel type contraption as they were cooked- this would have been in like '88-ish (I remember there was a curfew, so i think it was still during communist times) This exterior is exactly as I remember, the interior seems different
Yes, to what Grażyna said. There is a few locations in the city, each owned by a different business owner. They vary in flavor however, some or just done better. I only ever eat at this particular one.
It does look colder than a witches tit out there!! Eastern European in winter weather reminds me of eastern North Dakota in winter weather!!! Looks like Fargo weather to me!! Brrrrrrr..... I want to say these pastries look kind of like corn dogs, but I'm sure they are completely different! Had you dunked them in ketchup and mustard., I might not have been so sure. Damn those do look tasty though!! $6.15? I could probably devour quite a few of those. Fascinating history! Beautiful castle. Between the Nazi's and the Russian Communists, so much history and national identity was destroyed! But anyways.... wonderful episode!! Keep them coming!! Take care!!
Szczecin is near the Baltic Sea, there are same lakes and a river. The climate is humid, so perceptible temperature is lower, than in dry climate. Yes, brrrrr.
We usually dunk them in borsch (in polish: barszcz), beetroot soup that is also sold in Pasztecik joints, dunking them in mustard and ketchup just does not seem right.
Milo ogladac swoje dawne katy, w Zamku pracowalam ponad 10 lat. A na paszteciki biegalo sie czesto po szkole. Dzieki za mile wspomnienia.
You gotta try visiting the City in summer or when the tall ship races are!

Pozdrawiam was serdecznie z deszczowej Anglia Cornwall St. Ives 🥳🥗🍛🏄♂️🏄♂️
Smacznego. I love paszteciki. I will buy them on Monday! Mniam.
Z 20 lat nie jadłem pasztecika. Ja studiowałem na wydziale matematyczno-fizycznym na Wielkopolskiej więc miałem blisko do pasztecika.
So informative and watching the both of you exploring Poland is awesome!
Thank you for sharing Poland.

I wish I could eat paszteciki from Szczecin, but they don't deliver to New Jersey.
Thanks for the tour, great day and food 🙋✌️ Shawn in Ohio USA

And the same lady at cash register for I don't even know how many years! I remember her even from my high school years and I'm almost 36 :)
I love you guys. Thanks for bringing me along. "Chotchky" isn't a word that's heard in Ireland 9of all places) but it belongs to my boyhood.

My beautiful city.
My favorite ❤️
You could make pasztecik with leftovers of turkey after Thanksgivings. Use the same wraps as for chinese spring rolls and deep fry them.
You bet! Add a bit of stock to ground up meat, add some spices, sautéed diced onion... done!

Hello from Western Australia!
Looks like a good ol' American "CORN DOG" like you'd get at the annual COUNTY FAIR here in the states.
Choosing.i
Chodzilismy tam w latach '80 zawsze bylo bardzo dobrze. Jak bede w Polsce musze tam zabrac dzieci.
I ate here
very good patties
"I'm not a good girl." lmao
And I actually like that it is so quiet in the city and you can walk around without sh**load of geriatric German tourists :D
Mark, what are chotskis?
Hey John, Mark here. A tchotchke is a small, cheap, ornamental trinket or souvenir; a knickknack, according to Dr. Google. Thanks for watching!
Poland is Central Europe, and the sun doesn't stay out long in the northern hemisphere in winter....
Pasztecik smells like donut but it's savoury
Now? Maybe if we can keep yet another war from beginning here maybe all that lovely restoration work will actually be seen, intact, by many future generations, eh?

I never thought of the ketchup idea! I’ll have to do that in private so I cause a stir 😂

It's not palace, it's the castle
why the red bandana
Mark likes it better than a normal mask because of the beard. Thanks for watching.
Me again. Polish sausage roll? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasztecik_szczeci%C5%84ski
Poland is Central, not Eastern European
Poland is not Eastern Europe and this guy should know
Ok
