I love your Friday videos. Going on these drives with you makes me a homesick. I miss Poland! You two are the Best and so cute together. Thank you! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the trip. It's a beautiful country. My Great Grandparents came from Poland to the U.S. way back when. Not sure of the date but probably early 1900's
Hearing people speaking basic daily Polish (Poprosze..., kielbasa, dziekuje bardzo-prosze bardzo, etc) brought back my good old days in Poland as fond memories. 😊 No day went by without Costa Coffee back then. 😂 The tank hypothesis makes all the sense about the crooked trees, but i also remember having read that the weather conditions back then were so harsh that the strong and veeeeery long lasting cold winds left a permanent physical deformation on trees, hence the shape we currently see. Dziekujemy bardzo for this experience guys! All the best from Turkey ❤️
(Kim here) I Love your videos! As a Polish girl, I love to see all the things I'll probably never see IRL. But you Anna take me back to growing up with my Polish Grandparents who are all gone. The 2 of you together are so cute & funny and I love your dynamic. I know of Sheetz...just down the street. WaWa is ok...lol! Was just there yesterday as I went to Philly for the weekend. I live in Pgh. Please keep up the good work, So happy I've recently found you both! Dziękuję Ci!
love your channel. keep it up. thank you. My cousins have spread the word and now dozens of extended family are subscribers including me. half of all the Polscy ludzie Chicago must watch you two, but more need subscribe.
I just finished feeding my zurek and BAM, a new video! What a great way to start my day. Thanks for generating great content and sharing it with the rest of the world!
Great video folks! Started Looking forward to your Friday videos as they are pretty interesting and enjoyable. The Crooked Forest looks like a cool place to be. Taking nothing away from Anna's Polish your Kitchen as i love that too, thanks!
That was a lovely drive seeing all the different architecture. The tree with all the squirrel nests brought a smile. I like to taste my food. Not a big fan of condiments. Uncle Mark is an imaginative story teller about the Krzywy Las.
Some tress grow naturally like that such as southern Live Oaks and Eastern White Pine....those branches were used in ship building...hi from Minnesota!
Hi, Anna. Enjoyed your video and this adventure today. The Crooked Forest is unique. Not to far from my house (west coast USA), there is a tree very similar - starting from near the ground the trunk swings out and into a curve just like the trees in the forest. Susie
I always know that its going to be an interesting episode when Mark says something and Anna just laughs. I'm always well this is going to be good. Thank you for this. Loved the Crooked Trees visit. Thanks for that. My children love to see different sections of Poland and try to figure out if any of my husband's family were ever there and to saw these sites as well. Received the autographed cookbook and can't wait for our youngest daughter to open it on Christmas. Its her surprise gift.
Wish they made hotdogs like that here in Buffalo, NY!! But it's so funny, I recently had pizza from our 7-11 gas station, first time ever, it was good and we have good pizza here.
Costa Coffee is a British company and we have hundreds of Costa stores here in the UK, as well as thousands of their vending machines. Costa have many stores also in Poland, I’ve been in their cafes in Krakow, Zakopane, Gdańsk and Sopot. They also have stores in Szczecin. Costa stores in Poland are much nicer inside than the UK stores and appear to be a premium brand which is reflected in the price where a flat white will cost around 18 PLN. This equates to what we would pay in the UK. Love the Friday videos - I’ve only spent 24 hours in Szczecin as a stopover when driving from Gdańsk to the UK but I can’t wait to go back and spend longer there.
Hey, I love the gas station parowki when I'm on roadtrips in Poland. With garlic mayo and mustard, in that grilled bread, I ain't too proud. And "The Final Countdown" solo was nice.
Holly molly that gas station food looks 5star. I’m used to wonder bread stuffed with tuna or egg salad the only options well unless it’s a 7-11 station than hotdogs and pizza is available. But you got to be super hungry to get a pizza slice at 7-11. It sits under the heat lamps longer than you want to know
You made me chuckle with Mark's "gas station" food comment. First time I visited my youngest brother in Daphne, Alabama he took me to a gas station close to their house for some of the best fried gizzards that I have ever eaten!! And I agree with Mark...tanks did not do that to those trees. Aliens did...:-) Thank you for another great Friday PYK Video!!
It is very simple to explain: some 25-30 years ago it was a young forest- 3-4 years old, freshly planted and with the fresh, soft and edible for deers top parts. From this reason such a part of young forest is normally carefully fenced around in woodland by wire mesh fence in Poland. I this particular place it looks, that the deers anyway crossed the fence and have eaten the fresh top parts of the plats. But the plants did not perished: when the main growing point was destroyed on the trunk , the next branch, wchich already was growing horizontally, assumed the role of main stem . And it was growing the fastest, gradually changing the point from horizontal, to vertical direction, which is the process, which lasts some 5 years and is visible up to now- in teh shape of the stem. And I think this same explaination is written on the table in the forest. Stary
I don't want to cause any trouble here...but Kwik Trip has got some of the best gosh darn tasty gas station food around!! I mean come on!! Who can resist the "Meat Sweats Pothole Pizza:!! 😆😆 Gas is running around $1.80 a gallon around these parts. Take care! Be well!!
The Crooked Forest was pretty cool. I was amazed in the Gas Station when you panned the merch its pretty much like what we have here in the USA. I always thought Poland was a little behind times maybe that was true 40 years ago. I'm enjoying you're road trips of course I enjoy Ana cooking Demos but I found it a little difficult to follow the Cheese Cake Episode I think it moved a little fast @ times or maybe to much of a language barrier for me maybe I just need to watch it again to get more of a understanding. Don't stop what you're doing I really enjoy watching everyday.
Sorry about the cheesecake recipe, maybe read the recipe first and then watch again. You will kind of have an idea of what’s going to happen. Thanks for watching 🥰
Looks like someone over there heard of Native American Indian Trail/Marker trees and tried their hand at it. The Trail Trees can be found throughout the Appalachian area & the upper Mid-West. Sad though, these trees are going away with time as too with the Native American Indian Culture.
Very interesting! There are any number of possibilities, but realistically, trees get damaged in various ways, including being run over by tanks, all over the world, and the trees don't end up like that. Historically, England has grown trees in various shapes for house and ship building. Considering all the possibilities, and Polands more recent history, if I were to walk in that forest, and I would like to, I'd want to take a geiger counter with me, because residual radiation, greater than normal background radiation, wouldn't surprise me.
Słowo dla Marka... "Świetnie" :) się Was ogląda, jesteście super pozytywną parą, milo mi oglądać nasze miasto i okolice, czerpać inspirację z pysznych przepisów Anny. Pozdrawiam serdecznie i oby więceej :D
when you are ''closed'' can you take a few extra days off and travel to different regions of Poland? show us different foods, different words in use like potato, different customs, accents, history etc. so many of us here in the US would like to know more about the Poland our parents, grandparents left. tell us about the port cities and the ships they came over to the US in. Here In Chicago, the famalies from Warsaw live in a different part of the city vs from Kracow. North vs South side side Poles. even migration to differnt suburbs based on Warsaw vs, Krakow . differnt Easter and Christmas customs... SO much in addition to recipes you might do.
Jim, thank you so very much for the kind words in your posts. It truly means the world to Mark and I that people are getting something out of our channel. We very much intend to spread out the cities, food, and subject matter for the channel, we are just waiting for things to open up, and the weather to turn just a touch nicer. We received great news from the Polish government that outdoor dining, camping, and hotels will be open again mid May, and indoor by June, so we will pack up the car and head out to explore. Stay tuned, and thanks for watching!
Ohh how I wish Canada progresses. Love how you walk into the gas station and wam bam there is beer on offer. Beer and driving...what could possibly go wrong eh.
I will simply ask you if any of y cousins are still in the area..last name is Alban or Albanowicz.. we used to own the forest before the Russians and the Germans kept fighting over it.. from the one river that runs north to Lithuania down to Policia.. I probably mis-spelled it..Five churches, etc.. among the family.. before Communism started killing us.. Crooked Forest was for ships according to my great grandfather.. they bent the trees to make the ships stronger..
I like your explanation but- the land was polish prior to 1700's and the owners of the Forest were growing the trees for boats.. I was told that by my grandfather who said the property was in our family from around 1200 AD, until most of us had to leave due to the communists killing us round 1904-1906..
I don't have any family in that area. Mark always thought that the trees were shaped for some building purpose, either furniture to boat building. Thanks for the info.
love the kitchen closed Fridays I enjoy your adventures
Yay! Thank you!
Proud to be Polish !!!
Thanks for the tour,,,God Bless,,,!!!!
Love watching you guys.

These Friday videos are absolutely wholesome ! I feel like as if though I’m there. I miss Poland so much.

Anna< i cant help but notice how clean your cities are in poland. no litter on the roadside, so wonderful.
Across Europe, they just respect their land. I don't even see litter on the highways in Poland.
Ty for showing me Poland my great grandparents came over from there in the late1800s

Fun video! Thanks!

The forest was really cool to see! Love this channel! Thank you guys!❤️
I love your Friday videos. Mark is also right about Wawa’s breakfast burrito.
Cool!!!
I wish we had the hot dog sleeves, no mess.
Some tress grow naturally like that such as southern Live Oaks and Eastern White Pine....those branches were used in ship building...hi from Minnesota!

Thank you for taking me along! Great road trip to one of the places I'd always wished to see. You two are wonderful!
Your videos make me so want to visit my home country.

The crooked forest is pretty cool. I could see it in Harry Potter. I loved to watch you guys, very sweet. Lot's of fun.
Thank you both ! Your such a pleasure to hang with 👍🏻🥰I’ve never had a chance to visit my mother and fathers homeland so grateful to you !!!

9:36! 🤣🤣🤣
BTW...That is how I feel about New Glarus when I can get Up North. Possibly while standing in a Kwik Trip. #milkinabag
Thank you for taking us to the crooked forest, I enjoyed it very much.

We have many gas stations in Tennessee that also have kitchens and food available. Many with tables to sit down to eat. :-)

I'm intrigued by the hotdogs. Please show us how to make " sleeves".

Probably too late, but it was the video about the Crooked Forest!
My mother loved receiving her cookbook. She will now be following you also. Friday videos are awesome! What are those huge metal tubes along the road?
Pozdrawiam 👋😊
Our gas stations in Mexico are the same. And the forest was cool. Thanks
Have a great weekend guys, nice video. Now I feel like eating a hot dog, best wishes from Montreal,🍷🇵🇱
Genius HD BUNS!
I find those tube rolls for kielbasa intriguing. Do you know how they are made with holes in the center?
Thank you for driving on the correct side of the road.
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!

Sadly most people still think that in Poland is like in the 80's but mostly Americans think that .
It looks like the Hoia Baciu forest from Romania,a very haunted and old place.
My city ❤❤

Hot-dogs only from Orlen gas station, are the best.

Your petrol stations seem to be a lot more advanced than ours, down under!
Someone filling up for U!!!
Is it like that, allover the country?
Many gas stations have an attendant helping customers to pump but not all.
Mark, most of the gas stations are similar or even nicer in most of Europe, at least that has been my experience. Thanks for watching!
Ohh how I wish Canada progresses. Love how you walk into the gas station and wam bam there is beer on offer. Beer and driving...what could possibly go wrong eh.
I guess they figured that people are able to buy beer, have it in the car and not drink it while driving. Wild idea 😆
So that’s where Home Depot gets their 2x4s
