- The Elusive National Park Quarter - Quarter Hunt and Fill #6
I've decided to start a new series and see how far we can get at attempting to fill up a set of Dansco Washington Quarter Folders. There are 372 slots in these Folders but we don't expect to fill them all through coin roll hunting. Instead, we want to see how long it will take to fill the book with everything but the Key Dates, Semi-Key Dates and tougher silver quarters. Obviously, we'll be praying for some of those along the way!
This is part 6 of the series (Boxes 41-45 YTD) and I do plan on updating it from each quarter box I hunt from this point forward until the Washington quarter coin collection is nearly completed! I will say in advance that once we get to a point where it is nearly impossible to add any more coins to the album, we will then halt the series and try to fill the rest of the slots with existing finds, junk silver hunts or coins in my duplicates collection.

Weird how you haven't found that yosemite... Although the ATB Quarters Pre-2013 were lower mintage, some of them below 30M minted. May be the culprit, but you'd think out of 10,000 quarters...
So far I have found 6 W’s. Haven’t ventured into the $500 box yet. Usually grab as many rolls at the bank that I think I can carry. Since we have vending machines and washers and dryer’s in my bldg quarters will always be needed. Always entertaining,RFT. 🐎🌻✌️

The National Park quarters of 2010&2011 p&d are very hard to find. Closing in on a complete set. Received check list’s from coin company which has made collecting them a lot easier. Living in Kentucky D’s are much harder to find. 🐎🌻✌️
W’s are still out there! Got one in my change last Friday. Had been about two years since the last time I got one in some change so it was quite the pleasant surprise.
Well rough on the silver but still had a few finds!! Thw proof was my favorite of course. Love proofs! Thanks Rob 🤘

Quarters are tough! I can have a hunt where we find almost nothing - and then, we hunted a box last night during our live stream and found two DDR's! The magic quarter was a cool find - too bad you didn't find the other half. But - another great video!

2010 P Yosemite lol I hunted a mere $230 in quarters, and found one. Alas, I don't have the Denver, which is surprising. The P's take time to get here in Oregon.
I don't expect to find Silver in any box I hunt anymore. You're nabbing them all! LOL!
I'm on vacation next week, and can do my second quarter hunt. I'm gonna try to get 2 boxes, maybe more if the bank has them. I'd like to get the set as close to finished as possible, before I fill them with ebay bought quarters. This set was intended to be 100% (or close) hunted by me.
Last time, they didn't have many quarters. But I believe they frequently have half dollars. Probably because businesses don't want them 🤤😂

Tough hunt Rob, but still enjoyed watching. I grabbed 20 rolls of quarters from a DFW bank last week. Saw "Xs" on the rolls, so knew they were probably discards, and they were, but 8 of the rolls were pretty nice AU 2010/2011 D rolls. Full roll of each design, just missing 2 2011 designs. Being an east coaster, I'll take that if I gotta grab somebody's discards on a quick bank run. Probably should have asked if the teller had the other two, too.

Rough hunt but at least you got a couple W quarters. Last quarter that I need is the 2010-D Mt Hood. My problem is that I could never get boxes and had to settle for whatever customer wrapped rolls I could get. Still have 7 silver quarters on the year and 9 Ws.

The quarter that gave me the most difficulty was the Denver Gettysburg. Finally got one about a month ago after trying since November 2021.
Thanks for hunting quarters. I hunted them all over usa. For some strange reason they just drop in select areas. I find a lot of the same ones in part of a state then in another part of another state, i think the banks put an order in for quarters at whatever intervals so it’s very haphazard for dates but some dvery area hecka lacks certain stuff until you get to Chicago, L.A., N.Y. Stuff gets around but i think a lot of the non-megalopolises it is laundromat demand governing the flow. I go to laundromats all over too and sometimes the laundromat employees know whats up with quarters so some areas are mad skunk periodt. Man the Yellowstone quarter and the Samoa and the San Antonio are some of the best designs in a good 50 years tho. ☮️

I found plenty of Yosemite P quarters because I live in the Northeast. I have the most trouble with finding some of the later D National park quarters probably because they haven’t circulated up this way so much yet. The earlier statehood quarters with D’s are a lot more plentiful. I got about 16 more Denver national park quarters to find from 2009 to 2021.

The last state quarter I found was the Florida-P. The toughest NP quarter was the 2010-P Hot Springs. I actually found every 2019 and 2020 W before the Hot Springs quarter, which I just found late last year. Crazy. Keep up the great vids Rob!

Hey Rob - Love these hunt & fill videos. I have 3 National Parks albums and all 3 need the Maine Acadia P&D. I only search a couple boxes a month so not as many as you. I am picking up another box this week so hoping to find some fillers. Never found silver and only 1 W. Thanks for these videos.
I found a really good snow on the roof quarter a couple of years ago. It only has snow on one side of the roof, but there is a lot of it, and even some on the small roof above the window. It does have a slight rim ding, but it's in pretty decent condition otherwise.
At the end of the day Rob, quarters are rough!

Thinking that those Philadelphia minted Yosemite quarters might be confined here in the Northeast. I got one in change just last week.

I ocassionally find those quarters when I buy them in bulk. Don’t really care for them. I’d rather get a silver proof set of each national park quarter than clad.
Quarters are tough, just like all denominations seem to be getting. Pennies have had less copper, halves have had less silver, and nickels have had less buffalos. Just shows that people are pulling out the good stuff. Even though there billions upon billions of valuable coins (collectively) that were made, through the years it's easy to tell that it is just harder.

I keep all better 2009-1012 Quarters except for the 2012 Denali due to their lower mintages. Also the 2009 pennies, nickels and dimes.

I have not seen a W quarter in a looooong time.
It took me awhile to find the Chaco Culture (P) quarter. Seems like after 70+ boxes I’ve only had a handful of them.
Yeah that Chaco is a tough one. I think one of them has the lowest message of the whole set.

What do you do if you get an uncirculated quarter box? Do you return them rolled to a dump bank? Do you open them and return them at banks with free/member coin counters?
Looks like the other half of the magic quarter came apart and half of it is in there yet
2012 quarters have the lowest mintage I believe. The Acadia national park quarters are the lowest minted ones
