- Опубліковано 6 тра 2024
- We just learned a whole bunch of more information about one of the signature new attractions coming to Six Flags Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia. Sea Stallion is a Maurer Spike Coaster that allows riders to race alongside others on one of 5 vehicles on the track. On top of this, you get to control your speed, offering a very different ride experience from most roller coasters!

Good thing Qiddiya has an infinite maintenance budget!
It's like playing Planet Coaster Sandbox mode lol
Qiddiya is going to make for the best abandoned exploring videos 10 years from now.

@@ethanfinley5813i don't think the international market is the main audience here, yes it's a big project and they have something to help them acheave that but I've been to Qatar and they have a lot of projects that aim for the staycation market. Even Dubai has a massive audience for locals. And I think Suadi not having a major theme park in the whole country this will be a one and only for them and surrounding countries. The Arab/Muslim market is massive that side of the world
I'd be excited about this park if the country it was in wouldn't want me dead
Cry. Maybe don't be a homosexual and turn to god and maybe they will let you in.
A "water park" in a country without a river.
In case you aren’t aware all water parks even ones next to rivers use their own water supply due to sanitary reasons

@@pixer415 Well that's sort of the point. It's like golf courses in Arizona, the place is already out of water we don't need to use more than the little we have. However, unlike Arizona or Nevada, I think Saudi Arabia has better access to ground water and desalination.
Wow, so this park is actually happening
Well, they are building something. Whether it opens or not is another matter.
Sadly, yes.

It's fun that you say 5 at a time @1:22 when there are 6 on the track at that very moment
This is shaping up to be the most innovative new park

I mean forgetting about the Saudi human rights record in general as a turn off this is the confusing thing to me. Do we have some confirmation the queues and stations will be indoors? UAE has almost all indoor or partially indoor parks that are not water parks.
@@mattdaaamon saudi human rights? Which human rights?
i am suprised that this project is actually being build, instead of on hold (like any other project in the middle east)
I’m getting back into coasters after about a year and there is so much to catch up on lol
Looks amazing 🤩
I don’t get why any park would want a spike coaster. They’re maintenance nightmares, have terrible capacity, are loud, not really imposing nor pretty, the speed control function never seems to work properly and they look somewhat tame. I could be wrong on that last part, but still, there are plenty of much better options for coasters of a similar thrill level.
You’re right on for most of this, control function is trash and the thing is so damn loud that I don’t see why any park would buy one just based on that alone but the ride experience when you get a full throttle run is anything but tame, I loved Desmo Race, it felt so wrong to ride this with just a seat belt, very cool experience but I feel like this ride is a huge fail regardless
@popcanstudios9081 Is it comfortable though? I’ve heard that those rides could be painful in some ways, specifically Desmo Race, what would you say about it ?
@@Sauci55on not uncomfortable for me at all as a single rider, not sure about when you have 2 people on their though, it does feel like you’re going to get ejected at points which may not be fun for everyone
@popcanstudios9091 Interesting ! From what I remember hearing, there are some thin metal parts around the handlebars that could hurt your hands or wrists. Is that the case?
@@Sauci55on I don’t recall that but I do remember thinking it would be more comfortable if you didn’t have to keep the throttle turned, it’s a little awkward.
Oh that's cool this is like a big one of the crazy expensive and problematic one you guys rode on the cruise ship. Such a cool idea, hopefully the execution here is a bit better.
Really cool park, I just feel like few will visit outside of Saudis and Roller Coaster enthusiasts. This is coming from someone who has been to Bahrain across the causeway and that’s as close as most would want to go.
Construction is going very fast!
I love seeing rides that I'll never be able to ride
Don’t watch it then
They've already confirmed 2025 opening, it was originally October 2024.
We will see! there’s still a long ways to go!
@@CoasterStudios There sure is but they’re moving at a rapid rate (over 60% completion now on both theme park and water park) exciting times! Appreciate the reply and thanks for the updates!
Interesting fit (I can see it being successful) aren’t these coasters normally on cruise ships (I don’t think they is one in a park that’s why I asked) 🤔
So I’ll have to spend a minimum of 10-15k to go to this park?
So cool seeing awesome rides that I know I will NEVER ride 😭
There are two types of Mœbius strips: one (or three, or any odd number of) twists and; two (or any even number of) twists. Not sure it applies, still, but, I think I sound smart, and I like to say stuff.
The ride vehicles look like Ducati Panigale bikes, especially the lights.
Dang it, i was lured in because I thought it was Falcon's Flight news
Isn’t a Möbius dueling coaster defined by the layout feature here rather than having two stations? This seems to be Möbius.
Acres and acres of grass, trees, and foliage. That's precious. 😅
Also, did I just hear “Iron Rattler”? Like the SFFT RMC 😅

Boulevard World in Riyadh Saudi Arabia is getting some new experiences and hopefully new rides as well and will open in November of this year
This park may as well be on mars for all I care lol.
Lazer roller coaster that used to be at Dorney Park is in Saudi Arabia under the new name Teststrecke
Rip Kingda Ka 2005-2024 for the tallest coaster
And Formula Rossa for the fastest...
And Steel Dragon 2000 for the longest...
I loved Desmo Race at Miribilandia, it’s a one of a kind ride experience but the speed control function is garbage and it’s the loudest coaster I’ve ever heard.
Just to let you know, you've got the definition of the Möbius coaster exactly wrong, it's clearly defined by "one continuous track", rather than two individual roller coaster, which is simply just a duelling coaster.
I am aware a mobius is not two separate roller coasters. I was referring to a ride like Racer that is one track but set up like two roller coasters with a separate unload/load area.
If it gets built, this has to be the best roller coaster in the world (by far), right?
Coaster Studios Number One Blood Money Fan
Dude this park gona tank..I don't see why the tryin to actual build it..let's be honest who has like 20 k just to go vist it..I sure hell don't...💯💯👌👌🤔🤔
For me a mobious coaster is like an single rail S&S Axis coaster that you start inverted then go around then back to the station but now you on top of it then went through the layout again but just on the other side like an actual Mobious strip when the straight line on it could go on front and the back of the paper at the same time
I love your stuff, but I do not think you understand what a Mobius loop is. It is exactly what you described. It is what Twisted colossus is.
They have so many launched coasters
Infinite budget for the power bills!
Isn‘t the capacity of such a ride fairly low?
How many millions was falcons flight
to our knowledge, the budget for the attraction has not yet been released
Hundreds of mills. Wouldnt be too surprised to see it top the record for most expensive coaster too once all is done. (record to beat is Expedition Everest which cost about $100 million to build in 2006, which would be about $142.6 million today.)
@@user-lc5sr6mq4rmost expensive is half a billion dollars.. without looking, I'm pretty sure it was that guardians of the galaxy ride. Most of it has to do with the extreme theming of it.
Just for clarification, the city is building the park, after they finish construction, the city will hand it to six flags since six flags knows how to properly run an amusement park

Pretty cool rides!! Sadly i'll never be able to experience them due to Saudi Arabia's laws. ::(
What laws stop you from going.
@@randomobservers8734 They could be gay. Although apparently the full criminalisation of homosexuality isn't enforced for tourists, it's still understandable if someone who is gay wouldn't feel comfortable going there if locals are prosecuted with those laws.

This is what RCT3 sandbox mode looks like in real life
Maybe it's just me... But, the idea of riders controlling their own speed, put together with the fact it's a family attraction where smaller kids and stuff will be riding, will make this ride an operations nightmare. I can see people going slow, and holding up the progress of riders behind them, etc. It'd be real hard to get an average on how many trains you're sending an hour and stuff, it'll fluctuate widely depending on how riders are riding. Just a personal opinion and maybe I'm way off base, but just hearing rider controlled speed, that comes directly to mind.
I think the spike system is just ok … I rode bolt a few times and it was …….. just ok … nothing I want to do again
Thats probably what MM is gerting
Dubai is one thing but I just couldn't ever imagine going to Saudi Arabia no matter how good the coaster is. They might not apply their laws for tourists, but if locals are punished for things I'm allowed just because I'm a tourist that doesn't sit right with me.
Who said that the laws don’t apply to the tourists?
@@user222kento Obviously they apply a majority of laws to tourists, but according to official Saudi tourist boards as long as you don't outwardly express your identity LGBT+ visitors are welcome to Saudi Arabia. This kind of grace does not apply to locals.
The laws applicable to locals are none of your business
I don't know. The exa coaster still looks like it was designed by a 5 year old.
Well will see what the coaster enthusiasts and the public thinks about Falcon's Flight and if they like it it will be great for everyone to come and take on the tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster in the world.
Bro what would make it designed by a 39 year old. Yeah nothing, this coaster is designed to provide an incredible ride duration, breaking as many records as possible with geometric and force vector design methods in practice for track shaping providing a smooth and long lasting experience.

Nah I still don't believe. The construction pictures are just really realistic however they did it.
I think the estimate of it being a pipe dream was somewhat justified considering other failed Middle Eastern megaprojects/ theme parks
@@fadbob_ Wasn't the park....it was the coaster.
A very ambitious project as a whole for certain. I fully believe they can open this park - but keeping it open and operating looking fresh in the desert heat will be a challenge all its own.

Hot take (or is it?)
These powered coasters will be so bad. They look extremely boring (even if I weren’t a thrill seeker, i would still prefer most other family rides over this) AND probably have very low capacity. Like Taylor mentioned in the video “picturesque coaster and good for photo ops” - but that really isn’t what draws people to parks or rides?
I really wonder if Maurer even did a focus group or market research before they decided to push this idea.
Amazing park in an amazing country!
Amazing country?
@@revofreak1993 yes, have you been?
Even if this finishes and will outmatch Orlando's theme parks, I still bet they wont get as much visitors by a long shot. The parks will be empty lots of the time with low visitor numbers. Its still just Saudi Arabia and many people hesitate visiting such a country
what about the 36 million people who live in saudi arabia?
@@fadbob_ not sure if they will like it. Its made for tourists. It will take some time to make people see it as a good destination and gain trust
WHO said it made for tourists the local spend is more than enough and the main reason that qiddiay built for is to shift the 300 billion dollars that Saudis spends on entertainment outside to spend it inside and the first quarter of this year the local spend 24 billion on entertainment activities inside so the local market is profitable and I doubt it’s going to be empty or tourists from outside are not going to visit
