ahaha seriously!!! i just cant sew the tiny pieces accurately in my sewing machine since the little curves shift. so i hand sew to make sure all the markings line up.
ITS BEAUTIFUL!!! the amount of work you put into this is astonishing, and so impressive too! im actually making a head for a stuffed animal using a similar technique, and i was totally lost on how to add fur to the stuffed animal's foam and THIS WAS SO HELPFUL AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
UA-cam really put this in my recommendations at the right time. My mother bought me a head base for my birthday she’s going to help me put the fur on it
this was so helpful!! On my first head I... traced the pattern inside out xd so the fluffy part ended up being inside and- well- it was a good thing I used cheap fabric for my first go-around. Now I'm going to try again and want to make something based on my cat and this has me determined!! I loved that you chose to film a fursuit with more than one color, because I'm going to be tackling about three on the head and patterns get me confused really easily
I’ve always wanted to be a fursuit maker, but never had the money to get the stuff to make them . It genuinely looks really cool and I love seeing the progress of these

Just made my first ever foam base after making three other suits(dinos) getting ready too fur and am terrified! This helped me understand what to do so much better
Pls no. I'm not hating, and you can, but I've found that makes it a lot easier for everything to just fall apart. And, it looks a lot less nice. It doesn't take a beating like it should, and will eventually peel back and stop looking normal. This is just my experience tho (which is not as much as people might think. I've only made like, five actually good heads. ;-;)
You can’t really glue it on cause if you wash it, it will soften the glue and it will just fall off in the end since you need to wash it regularly anyway have you made it can I see it? :)
I'm so glad it helped you!!!! Aah, i never poke myself with needles, but PINS are my weakness... always poke myself when I'm pinning stuff together with sewing pins!
Not a furry or making anything that would require this knowledge, just find your videos very soothing and interesting, just wanted to say this is the best method for explaining darts I've seen! I’ve been sewing on and off my whole life and never really 'got' darts before, but the patterning method makes it make so much sense. Will definitely be stealing something like this if I ever need to make something with darts.
the way you secure your stitching makes me feel dumb for how I've been doing it (aka just tying knots until the anxiety says I can stop). OTHERWISE AMAZING VIDEO. I mean I knew fursuits were very labor/skill intensive but i've never actually watched it get done before.
Oh gosh, yeah, All other sewing tuts just mention tying a big enough knot that it wont pop through the weave of the fabric... and im like.... with enough force, any knot can pull through. Why tie it like that, when you could have the thread hold onto ITSELF and not onto the fabric? I'm so happy you liked the video!! Hope you can translate some of this into your own crafts!
I'd just like to say your tutorials have helped me so much- I just bought the the materials to make my fursuit, and I was so afraid of messing up, I had to look at some videos, and yours truly answered like all of my questions, thank you so much :)

Aah good luck!! I love fnaf !!!! Working with fleece for a head (which is what most people use for fnaf suits) is a little different than working with fur, but a lot of the other stuff you can use in this video! For the fleece sometimes you might wanna ladder stitch more pieces together when theyre on the head. Since you want a tight fit with no wrinkles. Fleece will show the wrinkles very obviously so you wanna get really close to perfect!
@@crimsonartzzz990 Ooh, that sounds like a job for needle felting! So when a marking is too too tiny or thin and it'll just be hard to sew it in effectively, you could needle felt it! Basically, you need 'felting needles' (different than normal needles, important), and some acrylic yarn in the color of your marking. cut some yarn, brush it out so it's untwisted, then use the needle to poke it into the backing of the fur. When it's stuck in there, you can add hot glue to the strands poking out on the back to reinforce, and then shave the yarn down to match the rest of the face. I'll do a tutorial on this the next time I have to do this technique on a suit, but in the meantime search around for Matrices' tutorial, I do it basically like she does!

This is such an amazing tutorial! I've learned so much, thank you! With all this time on my hands now, I will be trying to make my very first suit ;0; I would love to see your tutorial on making tongues and teeth!

I want you to know that I started construction on my first ever fursuit head a few days ago, and the entire time while I was carving, your tutorial BGM was playing in my head. Kept me motivated :D
This tutorial is so underrated, along with all your other videos. These are super helpful and are made so professional ! They are easy to understand !!
Ahhh ty!! Glad you think so! I try to think of every question someone might have and make sure to explain every step of the way, even the stuff that might appear "obvious" to some people.
I really like how there is no sewing machine involved in the making of this head. I hand stitch everything, and the stitch demonstrations were very easy to follow. Yours is definitely my favorite Fursuit tutorial channel!
aw THANK YOU!!! yeah I still hand stitch my entire heads. With a strong hand stitch it will be very sturdy, no need for a machine! Mostly it just speeds the process up for the easy seams like on the neck, but I just do it all by hand because I enjoy hand sewing :3
people: gotta hide that I’m a furry!
My parents: oo look that’s nice what your making
seriously, just be like 'im making a mascot costume' and it's more widely accepted to 'normal' people. it's mostly when you call it a furry that they get all weird about it. but anthro animals have been a thing for sooo long. people are more accustomed to them than they'd think!
Yeah they were rude when I said I wanted to try making ONE FRICKING SET OF HANDPAWS
Edit: they means my family
@@violetfantasy2537 awh. My moms pretty chill and I’ve made a head before but not using proper techniques so it’s kind of messy, and I made it from stuff I found in my closet from when I used to sew stuff a lot. I still haven’t shown her my first head, though, so it is possible to keep it a secret, I’m just practicing to get good enough so that when I show my mom she’ll think it’s really amazing and not scary.

You genius. You absolute genius. Why hasn't anyone ever taught me this? This has got to be the best way to deal with the knot problem! You're a genius and a hero. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

this is the most underrated furring tutorial! I've looked everywhere for one so in-depth! I wish I had found this sooner so I could have stitched most of my head right!
I'm so happy it looks helpful ! I really wanted to go more in depth than those other tutorials since there's a lot they don't say.
@@freckledcatcreations so true! They use terms that are kind of exclusive to fursuit making and the watcher doesn't really know what they mean because it isn't simple enough. I like how you used darts!
The stitch usage and explanation was SUPER helpful, especially around the mouth and ears. Very impressed with this tutorial!!
omg im so happy it helped you!!! thank you!
This tutorial is the best I've ever seen! It's so detailed which is super helpful for me. I'm going to make my own fursuit head soon, and all the tutorials I've watched haven't explained it but rather just showed a timelapse of them making it. Thank you so much for making this!
I TOTALLY agree, and it annoyed me that they left so much out or didnt explain stuff! so i wanted to make sure mine was super super detailed

Thank you so much for putting so much effort into this tutorial. It's endlessley valueable to so many makers still learning the ropes. I'm so grateful for how in-depth you go with your videos.
I'm so so happy it's appreciated!! I saw that there were sooo many little things that the other tutorials weren't covering in their furring videos, so I really worked hard to be as comprehensive as I could!!
making my first head and I'm so intimidated!!! even though I have a pre-built 3d base, just the furring itself is scary. this is making me feel SO much better, very detailed, and answered a bunch of my questions. thank you for this!!!

Same here. I'm terrified to start furring. How did yours turn out?
Ah, pain is going to be immense when I make one, but it will be worth it!
THANK YOU! This is the only tutorial that helps ( to me) because it actually explains how to do it and not just “ ok cut it out and sew it together “ TYSMMM

people who have enough patience to hand sew everything are absolute legends. I am just relying on my sewing machine for everything XD
ahaha seriously!!! i just cant sew the tiny pieces accurately in my sewing machine since the little curves shift. so i hand sew to make sure all the markings line up.

You are so welcome! i also made a sewing tutorial that goes more in depth if you want more info :3
this was so helpful!!

And here I was about to just glue it on.
林思雨 I was thinking of just doing that when I make one in the future XD

@@freckledcatcreations Uhg I know the feeling xd I used to hang out with my grandma while she sewed and I would mess around with her pillow cushion..
I'm so so happy the explanation worked for you!! I hadn't really seen darts explained in the way I wanted so I was happy to show yall my take on it.
the way you secure your stitching makes me feel dumb for how I've been doing it (aka just tying knots until the anxiety says I can stop).
Finally a youtuber that uses the metric system! To hell with an eighth of an inch!
Ur so underrated wth

This really helps me because I want to make a fursuit or a FNaF cosplay, but there’s not really any good tutorials on how to make a FNaF cosplay. This really helps! I might use it for fursuit making in the future.
Hot glue runs in my blood and skin. All this work all these burns and once I finally get to the fur.. Yeah I can't do this
I was feeling stressed about furring my foam base but this tutorial made it simple. Thanks for the awesome tutorial! Wow that head turned out well!
I'm SO happy it helped! That was my goal, I know the furring stage is REALLY daunting to a lot of people. :D
Also, do you have any strategies I could use for my next head? It will be more complex with lots of little black and white lines.
Thank you so much!! :3
