I love it when the customer is just as goofy as Rick is lol
Right? Lol!
They both have same amount hair
"My papi says $9000"
Rick: "the old man is also looking down and says $8500."
he is definitely looking up hahaha. rest easy old man 🪄🪄
Say it with me the british aare coming the british are coming
-paul revere
He said pappy not papi 😂
Battle raging in the Heaven.
The old man is looking down and saying now it's down to $7000. ;)
*goes outside and puts it in a vending machine for a coke*.
underrated comment
That would be the most badass move ever ha
LOL Jesus this legitimately has me laughing
Wouldn't work. It would be spit out the coin return.
Heisenberg 1000
Rick knew exactly that the seller would surrunder at the end... well played.
of course he did the sale price is predetermined then acted out for the cameras lol
rick sold it for 25 gs
Oh fuck, wonder how long he was sitting on it for that price
he could have milked it lower
Blenson Paul if
That's the pawn shop shuffle.
The "say hello to my little boots" was a reference towards what Caligulas nickname was as a child .. little boots.
Blake caligula means 'little boots' , his name was Gaius. He use to wear little army boots around the camp. His father germanicus caesar was a popular army commander. His fathers soldiers gave him the nickname.
Which is interesting because if he knew that, then he knew the value of the coin
Little BOOT.
That's what the name means in Latin.
No wonder he grew up to become so cruel 😅
I died when he said " as the romans once said, 'fortunes change with the wind' 😂😂😂"
I would never sell that piece of history. Wow. What an artifact.
“Fortunes change with the wind”
I love that.
Rick actually did the dude a solid by having a professional look at it and then giving a very reasonable offer on the amount. The guy got the coin from free and profited $8500 while Rick will only see a few grand max for it.
That coin is absolutely beautiful. I'd love to own it.
John Rotten that will be $10k plus.
Agreed - beautiful strike, excellent condition, awesome history
I would never have sold that tbgn
Man, that coin of Caligula is worth more than my entire collection of 100 ancient coins.
You have 100 ancient coins that are all worth $100 or less?
@@trampolinetricksguys Most ancient coins are not worth a huge amount. Only certain rare coins command thousands of dollars. For example, Constantine I ruled for around 30 years, and in his lifetime many tens of millions of coins of his were minted. Today most of his coins sell on average for around $25 USD as hundreds of thousands of his coins survive. Only a few select rare coins of his command any serious money. The same is true for many other emperors.
@the best youtuber I invite you to visit the Cointalk forum, specifically the ancients section. There you'll find dozens of the top collectors of ancient coins in the world, and they will all tell you that what I said is true...most ancient coins are worth less than $100 USD. Only coins in gold, and some really rare silver and bronze coins, are worth more than that. For some Roman emperors such as Gordian III, Philip I, Septimius Severus, and Antoninus Pius (to name a few) the bulk of their different silver denarii and antonianii are readily found for less than $100 in high grades of preservation.
yeah most rare coins arent worth thousands, an alexander the great tetradrachm can go for between £50-1000 even more if unc and from babylon
That dude was funny asf
That was a smart negotiatiom move from the seller!
That's a rarity. God knows how many of that exact same coin still exist, but many such silver denarii of various types hover around 100 or fewer, and for many there are only 20 or fewer known examples. Heritage Auctions' sales history on their website goes back 15+ years and they have not had this same exact coin in that timespan. Heritage is a high end auction house which has sold numerous million+ dollar coins. They have sold other Caligula era silver denarii, but not a COS 4 (4th Councilship, which lasted for only the final 24 days of his life) with the same reverse, which read SPQR on the back (an abbreviation meaning The Roman People And Senate). It's definitely a rare coin and in nice shape, to boot. They were made of low grade silver and base metal. Many such coins have been pitted, worn, and scratched via the ravages of time. Amazing how anything with that amount of history made its way to a Las Vegas pawnshop in 2014. Anton Chigurgh would find that fascinating.
nonplayerzealot4 ^human wiki^
nonplayerzealot4 I agree...he should have waited, and put it up for auction, ...maybe he could get more money
MARKIE GREEN ... exactly , he could have seen upwards of $15,000.00 for it .
nonplayerzealot4 he flip the coin at end watch carefully slight of hand trick
nonplayerzealot4 that bloke swap the coin in end watch carefully he's still got it !
Well played Rick... Well played indeed.
The coin is virtually priceless. It's probably worth over $100k easily. What a fool to sell.
$500 is so petty when you literally came in asking for hundreds.
Surprised he didn't offer 2000
Coins sell fast. The big lowballs are for things that are tougher to sell out of a pawn shop like toys and certain speciality antiques.
Love the drums and when the coin expert says “Yesssss” 😂
My papi says "$9000".
The Insanartist he has been wrong before
idk why people think others care what their dead relatives think.
@Marvin Lively that's a little bit harsh 😅
Rick (thinking): well tell your PUPPY to shut up
GREAT coin!!! This is another coin collectors are holding on to in their collections.!!!
This is the second best and wittiest customer I ever noticed in this show🤣🤣🤣
He knew he was going to get him at $8,500. He's been doing this for too long 😂
lol rick turned his back and the seller caved in real quick 😂
Money talks
Absolute menace.
Value 10k, offered 8.5 - seems a setup he knows its worth more
if u heard correctly, the expert said $10k PLUS.....meaning minimum $10k. can go way higher because expert is not a collector buyer, he is not the market. even rick said 10k plus.
Definitely he usually offers 50-66%
That expert himself is a fake... if the expert knows that the coin is worth about 50k, he can say 10k+ and still he didn't lie...😅
That plus is a little vague
Rick: so what do we have here?
Customer: A 2017 $100 bill
Rick: best I can do is $25
Customer: Are you sure you can't do 100?
Rick: look I'll go 30 and I'm taking a risk here
Please stop these incredibly unfunny 'jokes', thanks.
every fucking video, same dumbass comment. stfu already.
Well if you take into account inflation, Quantitative easing and a huge budget deficit from the federal government Rick is right on the money....
never stop the jokes. They are the shineboxes of this genre
Apparently if a pawn shop won’t get good profits, it will struggle to pay taxes، insurance and will shut down soon.
Nice one. A customer playing Rick's game but alas Rick won again hahahah.
Worth $10k 😂😂.... I know where I'm selling my old Roman coins next time I holiday in Vegas .
You can sell it for more at actions. And that isn't the real price its worth. They probably sold that coin for more than 10 thousand
0932steve what makes that coin so special??
Ya can buy a silver denari of Caligula for a £400 , even my coin price guide has no Caligula silver anywhere near £7/8000 , so what makes that one special???
Kev Hammer.
0932steve I'm asking a genuine question ,
do you know why that coin is 'apparently' worth $10,000 ? the coin expert dosnt say why! No one explains what makes that coin worth so much more than his (Caligula's) other silver coins ?
I would appreciate any info explaining what makes that one so valuable! ..thanks in advance
Because it was minted very close to his death?
Turned his back to walk away, switched out the coin with a blank slug, and came back and agreed to the sale.
sometimes you can really see it if Rick really wants to buy something :)
The guy switched the coin when Rick turned around. LOL...Say hello to my little scam.
A Caligula denarius in that condition is very very valuable nowadays, 10k+ was old pricing. Not to mention the Caligula denarius is very rare because a lot of his coinage was melted down, his successors hated him.
When Rick says "Not a penny more", he means it.
He should be saying "Not a cent more!" The Founding Fathers of the US intentionally moved away from the British £sd monetary system that uses pounds, shillings, and pence (1£ = 20s = 240d) to a decimalized system that uses dollars and cents ($1 = 100¢).
love the show great stuff
I'm amazed that handling such a rare piece Roman Antiquity no is wearing gloves to protect it .
What people don't realize is the price of anything is what you would pay for it. Especially numismatic value, that can change day to day or year to year in some cases.
This dude folded so quick that he was willing to have a stick up his but for a $500 difference 😂
Strange they never showed the reverse of this coin.
I have a 2000-year-old coin of the second Roman Emperor Tiberius, son of Augustus Caesar, with a picture of Emperor Tiberius and Roman writings, weighing about 15 grams of bronze. Tell me how much is it worth?
He says that he won't part with it, exchanges it in his shirt, pulls fake one out and says, I changed my mind and gives Rick fake coin.
I just found one and is in better condition than this one.
I actually never found anything like this!
The moment I saw it I knew it was really special
I've seen some of these going for a lot more, like 16k
I would only let mine go for a good amount or else it'll stay in my collection. These coins have a lot of stories to tell..
I would have gone through the whole evaluation process again, once the seller picked up the coin and then changed their mind.
This is how con artists go, they get something evaluated or appraised and then swap it for a fake and then sell the fake for the price the real one was evaluated for.
There are videos showing this, people doing it with gold, and jewelry and gems.
Caligula really was a fun one.
A Denari of Gayo Caesar (Caligula) looks good worth 200 US dollar noi more...take a side at the reverse...maybe is worth 1000 dollar reverse of roman coins makes the diference
I think 7k would have been fair. Its rare to see rick offer 85% of its retail value.
That's got to be the rarest coin on planet earth! It should go for more money than any other coins!
Rick probably just got played. Had the real coin verified, picked it up went to walk away, little slight of hand, and BAM! Sells him an exact replica after the expert has already walked out. I know I'm probably wrong, but it wouldn't surprise me.
When the customer stood firm and Rick walked away, he knew he had Rick's best offer. Use that strategy next time you buy a car. Go ahead and walk out. You can always go back minutes later if the salesman doesn't follow you out the door with a better price!
The seller thought he was smooth talking Rick and being slick with his speech, that in the end he came out looking like Rick's BTCH ! 🤣
As it was scripted.
He switched the coin with a fakw one as rick turnt his back lol
Despite their age, roman coins are usually not that valuable compared to gold coins from 17th century or so. They are still found pretty regularly in fields across wide parts of western europe.
Guys remember that: a pawn shop pays you istantly with cash money for things are fairly useless for the most of people, but the shop has to resell then the things too and wanna of course earn money too (any shop wanna earn money, is normal)...so i can understood Rick and i understand the customers too...sorry for my english x3
Beautiful coin I have a lot of these coins, what it's worth I do not know.
Money, Money, Money!!! I have a coin which was made in the 1800s but there's no where to sell it
Coke machine
i have one
fortunes can change with the wind😂😂😂
Dude switched the coin
lol
Try finding a Julius Nepos coin. Debatably the last emperor of Western Empire. I only ever saw one for sale. $20K asking price. Far rarer than Caligula coins.
U can just see how surprised he is when he finds out it’s real
Why sell out your dad on live television? His pappy was embarrassed by his foolish son.
Where's the first half of this video?
I have a 1 century roman solder coin . the soldier on front and them fighting on the back. The date 132-225bc. The coin is gold mix with silver. Is it a good coin
The same coin guy prices every coin at $10,000.
the brutus coin was 100,000
he says 10,000 plus... I almost wonder if that's incentive to Rick, 100,000 is 10,00 plus in essence... guy needs to start getting more specific
@@edwardness7497 yeah, that's way too much wiggle room for Rick. When rick adds 1500 or more that quickly, you know he knows hes gonna charge 20,000 "plus".
Numismatics is a Serious and Fun Buisness 👍
We all know he was going to take it.
Homeboy tried the fake walk away. Didn't work buddy, not this time
*looks at the coin for 2 seconds "oh yeah this is the real deal"
Fake walk away. Didn’t work, Rick stuck to his price.
I think the expert over-priced the coin. If it was an aureus then $10k would be reasonable. But it is just a denarius so it should get only around $5k to $8k tops
There movie on him was best history movie ever
8500 for a genuine Caligula's coin? Thats too little i think
Strange video with "no buddy to come along".
Should have listened to papi. That value is only going to get higher plus there’s always someone willing to play ball 🏀
Use that info to try to sell yourself for 10gs if you're not in a rush for the cash. He did say the offer stands. Bad business for Rick to only possibly make 15%margin especially on something with such a huge price tag anyway.
watching all these ancient coin clips makes me wanna go metal detecting/diving for coins
That coin is so rare very rare even you have a money its hard to find a legit ones today
He was like "Actually 8,500 is igh."
any one notice the switch at the end. very slick
Hahaha he waiting for 500 but Rick don't take his bait
I have an ancient coin collection that I have been building. If my kid sold it...my ghost would haunt him.
85% retail offer is more than fair from a Pawn Store imo.
His pappy was going to trip him on the way out for being stupidly greedy if he didn’t take them racks !!
i was thinking atleast 100k based on that speech the professional gave
Ye like it in great condition . Hundreds of years old...10k+ is not a number ?! The way they were talking its sonds like : "hey this guy is stup×× lets husle him!
This guy could run a scam where he shows a real coin, has the expert look at it and confirm its authenticity, refuse the deal and start to walk away and then say "you know what, you have a deal I changed my mind" and hand Rick a fake that he swapped out to look like the real....
So i have here a 24k gold coin.
Rick:Best i can do is 20 bucks
this costumer was cool
Seller- "this is confirmed by your guy to be the Holy Grail, used by Christ".
Rick- "I'll give you a AOL CD and validate your parking
The Holy Grail is the Holy Grail of pawn shop items.
If you want retail price sell it yourself. Pawn shops buy it cheap and sell it at retail.
I would have thought a coin that old would be worth a lot more. there must be a descent amount in circulation. does anyone know more on the subject?
Get rid of noise.
You was walking in wanting a hundred 😂😂😅 he always use that on people
Because that's the truth. When he gives them way more than they asked, they should be happy.
8,500 was a fair offer
Baited and switched
Check out the "Lava Treasure" on wikipedia ..
Suprised that Mr. Brown and him didn't get along famously
Cool coin
He sold a Caligula coin for that. Deserves all he gets.
Hi Rick I have one old coin liberty 1804 how much you buy
He is trying to sacmmed him
For once I agree with Rick that's a fair price
