  • I picked up some white birch and black walnut firewood and brought it back to the woodyard. I split whatever I could without needing the chainsaw to cut any. I sold some IBC totes and will be selling a few more as I'm switching more of my firewood inventory to be stacked on skids/ pallets instead.

I love white paper birch, black walnut matters not so much unless it’s barkless & dry. I swear some people think they’re sitting on a gold mine when they have a tree taken down and bucked up by a tree service. They think they can recoup some of their money for the removal, they think someone is going to pay them to remove 5’ diameter silver maple. They find out real quick that they’ll be lucky to find someone to remove it just for the wood.

I had a customer up north and he said he didn't like the thick barknon one of the species. It was probably the walnut he was talking about, not the black locust or the little bit of siberian elm. I've had walnut sitting around for months and the bark adds up when it falls off.
I guess that's what it is, they want money back. Shouldn't have been a problem for that guy in that neighbourhood though

It's nice to have more than one just in case one fails or you drop it down the sewer or something, but I guess with such a small camera and battery, what can you expect? Otherwise these new chargers are not black and white when it comes to charged/ not charged status

I don't think he wanted it for firewood or anything else.h3 just felt like he had to lord himself over it even though he had little or nothing to do with it

OK, not to be bossy...BUT... If you had a long metal rake, you can use that to scrape the wood down out of the back. 🤔 IDK, just watching and thinking, there must be a more efficient way of doing this! 😂 Also, SHAME on those people for not moving the dang car, so you can park closer to the pile!! 🙄

There's a tool called a pickaroon or a hookaroon which is like an axe but it has a skinny pointy head that you can swing into the wood to move it around easily, maybe that's what you're referring to. It would be hard to find one here if it can't be ordered from the chainsaw dealers amd I don't see them on store shelves. I did have an idea to buy a new axe and take the cutting disk to it to make a pickaroon and trip out the viewers in the process by seemingly destroying a new axe 🤣❣️

It’s worth $0 , until you manufacture it into FIREWOOD.

Notice how its always worth money when you are picking it up, but its worth nothing when they have to do the work to get the money out of it, they would just rather throw it out then do the work.

Ya for sure. Last summer I had a guy tell me about his tree that he had cut down which was wrongfully labeled as English walnut, but turned out to be bitternut hickory, which I ended up with as a super rare treat, cut and split entirely into smoker wood chunks for top dollar. Because the homeowner heard it was walnut, he basically asked me to arrange an Alaskan sawmill to cut it into boards for himself. He literally did no research or nothing worth mentioning even if he did
