Current gen was in desperate need of a game to give people a reason to upgrade to PS5 and Series X. Looks like GTA 6 will finally do that. Hopefully more current gen exclusives are coming.

As somebody that skipped the PS4 generation completely and bought the PS5 after not gaming since the PS3, I think this generation is very lackluster. There aren't as many console selling blockbuster hits as previous generations had. The majority of games that I even enjoy on the PS5 are also on PS4 as well. The developers are so greedy that they aren't even willing to cut support of the previous generation in order to get as much money by releasing games on both old and new generations. As a result, nobody is really using the real power of the current gen to their fullest capabilities. Thankfully GTA VI will do just that. GTA is literally the only console selling franchise because no other franchise has as much of a wide appeal as GTA.
Its not just the devs but the consumers too, they'll demand a game must be on ps4 and if devs dont listen they'll make a ruckus and cause other gamers ln other platforms to wait longer or miss out a game.
People need to realize that the PS4 and Xbox One came out 11 years ago. Series s and PS4 pro are still last gen consoles that are limited. The PS5 and Series X came out 4 years ago. This isn't a brand new console anymore, people need to upgrade if they want to play the new games.
I'm on PS4 and I'm not upgrading just to play GTA VI. In all honesty I don't think I'll buy another console again. My mate said he'll help me build a gaming PC. So I think that's what I'll do.
Make more then the avengers? Lol GTA V in 2013 already did that anyways. GTA V made 1 billion dollars in 3 days. Which is about the same as avengers endgame opening weekend. So yeah GTA 6 is going to be even bigger.

I never buy a new console at launch since it takes a couple of years for the new console to really have library of exclusive titles to justify the purchase. This gen was artificially extended due to the pandemic and the fact that the PS4 and PS5 architecture is so similar that devs could easily back port their games like they did with RESI 4 and JEDI SURVIVOR to still capitalize on that larger player base. This further desentifized people to move on to the next gen since a lot of big games was still showing up on the PS4. GTA6 will really be the catalyst to spur those that are still clinging to their old consoles to move on.
i hate the double dipping, such a anti-consumer tactic. those 2022 leaks exposes rockstar committing to double dipping because they used various nvidia and amd hardware, even hardware not made for gaming. they've already started a pc version and purposely release it later on for toxic business reasons. i hope the wait wont be long this time.
yeah i hate this practice too. GTA V came out on PS3 and XBox 360 and then a year later on PS4 and Xbox One and a year after that on PC....talk about triple dipping.
The main reason I upgraded my older consoles was because the game I wanted to play was no longer available on my console. With the amount of games available 2nd hand and still being made, then there is little reason for some to switch. And especially when many current gen (PS5) aren't pushing that consoles to the best it can do. I'm not really in to GTA, I appreciate it's a good game, I tried them in the early days, I would see this game and something like COD being used to move more people over to the new console. I can also see many of them going for the PS5 digital only version because it is cheaper
If PS4 players really want to play GTA 6 then they need to upgrade their consoles, they need to quit whining and trying to hold everyone back as it’s not gonna work.

With the success of GTA Online, of course they’re going to work on the next version to make it way better than what we have now. It would be weird for them NOT to work on it while it’s in production.

Why is anyone actually worrying about this? PS5 is outselling Series X by a significant margin. If they should be worrying about any console, it's Series X. Before anyone says anything, I'm not bashing Series X, the point is, stop whining about the PS4 players who aren't upgrading.

Fortnite looks so much better on PS5 & BF2042 is bigger. But PSVR2 RE8 is Awesomeness, VR2 is a Experience. I use both systems daily, always nice if 1 been on all day to switch up.

Some people might wait for a ps5 pro or next gen console. People can buy used consoles. Wasn't really as big of a thing before. Also some people might just buy a series s or a used series s. Makes more sense if your just buying a console to play one game. I've definitly thought about this alot. It's a weird time because console sales use to slow down so they would put them on sale. But they haven't really done that yet. Xbox has a little. The game is roughly a year away. That's a whole year of console sales to catch up for the demand of the game. I predict that consoles will sell out. Some people have bought a console before the first trailer. Some after. Some might start buying after the Second trailer. Then weeks leading up to the game coming out. Then when the game releases all hell will break loose.

@@Kash_28 digital PS5 is only like a $100 less than the base. People can get a PS4 for extremely cheap. I have a PS5 and games still look near identical graphics wise. They just obviously run smoother on PS5. I still haven't seen much games try to push PS5 graphics to it's full limit. Hopefully GTA 6 will

Na u crazy PS5 loads faster & ps4 games usually have upgrade ps5 versions.
PSVR2 is Awesome RE8 + RE4 are sweet.
Main downside to ps5 is certain games require the PREMIUM PS+ to Stream best Quality & lacks "Themes" an web browser thing is weird.

Ironic console gamers are complaining ps4 is holding games back while PC exists. PS5 is a terrible waste of money. This is the generation everyone moved from console to PC. If GTA doesnt come out on PS4, I wait for PC.

There's just not much of a reason to. The jump in graphics are very little, 95% of PS5 games are on PS4, these days you can get a PS4 pro for $200

I also won’t say it’s 95% but even if it is that lowers more all the time since it finally seems like most games aren’t making for last gen (most not all) and if somebody can get a ps4 pro they might as well buy a digital PS5

@@Kash_28 digital PS5 is only like a $100 less than the base. People can get a PS4 for extremely cheap. I have a PS5 and games still look near identical graphics wise. They just obviously run smoother on PS5. I still haven't seen much games try to push PS5 graphics to it's full limit. Hopefully GTA 6 will

Just bring all PS1,PS2,PS3,PSP/Vita and PS4 games to PS5 and brick the older consoles then people would have no choice to upgrade It's getting beyond Ridiculous now it's been about 3 years now for PS5 and about 11-12 years I belive since PS4 time to let go and move on bloody holding games back to there full potentinall if you cant't afford gaming get a job it's not a cheap hobby
