Mongoose Hitch Snow Ride

- I've shown you the Mongoose Hitch on the trails in the summer, and fall, but how did it do in the winter snow? This video outlines the upgrades previously made to the bike, and how they performed out on a snow and ice covered groomed singletrack.
This bike continues to impress me, and keep a smile on my face while I ride. I had a lot of fun out in the snow on a nice warm Michigan day. Riverbends trail was awesome, and the trail team has done an amazing job grooming!

Have you done any modifications to your bike for snow riding? If so, what are your favorite upgrades and why?
i made DIY spiked tires with 1"1/2 screws, it works awesome on worst snow conditions
DH OBSESSIONS I'm considering studding the stock tires to get out and do some ice riding.
Budget friendly biking I don’t get snow here in Texas but I just bought a mongoose malus at academy and even without snow or ice or sand it is a HUGE love affair between my cannondale and this mongoose lol
I love riding this bike. It's not super fast, but its fun and I love being able to bulldozer over just about anything. It'll still be a favorite even when I'm out on the mission which was roughly 8 times the original price!
I relate to the opening way too much. Haven’t gone on a ride in like 3 months (Broken wrist). Great video, I’m really surprised by the stuff the mongoose can do!
Hahaha. Seriously, gray is all I've seen since October! Standing in the sunshine even if only 40 degrees was amazing! Sorry to hear about your wrist dude! Did you break it riding!?
nice work, i like the concept of you channel, keep it up
DH OBSESSIONS thanks! I really appreciate it!
Thank u for great informative videos
Another great video
Thanks! Snow riding is a lot of fun, so I really enjoyed making this one and sharing.
Awesome, man. I guess you really need those wide tires to get traction in the snow.
You might say they make a REALLY BIG difference! Sorry... too many dad joke videos lately.
great video :)
Eicker MTB thank you!!!
not seen anything new on your channel, I hope you are well, and have fun.
i havent needed to BUTif february brings more snow. i might just get a wider back tire. great vid!
Trail Bike Bebop they make a major difference in the snow. It's pretty surprising how well they grip.
Great videos about your upgrades. I am upgrading a mongoose myself. Could I ask how you got the decals off the bike. The method you used ?
Intro:
People in early 2021: "Don't we know it!"
BFB, What pressure did you drop down to for snow & ice traction ?
I've heard from 4-7psi for ice, snow, & loose sand is perfect.
Bumpy trail, 10-12.psi
Smooth trail 12-15 psi
Asphalt road: 15-20 psi
I only know firsthand about those latter #s, as we have no snow hereabouts in East Texas !
Excellent videos on the goose! I am having trouble with my goose! I bought a mongoose argus trail and the rear hub is a 8 speed cassette. I rode it like 5 miles and started to hear clicking noise. When I push the wheel rather hard to one side or the other I get the click noise. The hub bearings are tight but unless i torque them real tight. I can get that little click. It is weird you here it click as also you are flicking a switch. All I can think of is a slightly bent axle. But I didn t even ride it much at all. Have you had problems with the rear hubs on the mongoose fat bike?
Did you buy it new, and if so have you considered contacting Mongoose or the shop you bought it from? I'll be getting the Dolomite ALX via walmart.com tomorrow. It is almost the exact same bike as the Argus Trail. Hopefully I don't have the same nightmare freehub issue you're describing.
Would you ever put a shock front fork on your Mongoose? Ether a Rockshock Bluto or Wren? You ever consider that? I'm also curious as to the price you paid with all of your upgrades. Is your fat bike still sub $800 or did you pay more?
A couple questions: are the Mammoths 60 or 120tpi? Would you consider stretching the rear fork 7mm to install a 197mm thru axle?
Are you planning on upgrading the front fork?
Joe Napieralski not as of right now, but I'm considering it for the future.
Is this bike similar to the dolomite? Do you know the differences?
Could these mongoose fat bike frames handle slightly larger tires? Do you think there would be clearance for a 26x4.5 or even 4.8 inch?
Probably not, but Google around you may find a definitive answer.
Next time you go out on that trail, bring a saw and cut that little tree down. Stick a couple acorns in the ground 10 feet away from the trail. lol. Everyone will thank you for that.
ratoneJR I've definitely considered it. I'm surprised no one has done it yet, considering how much it gets clipped.
What's the rise on those bars
They are 20mm rise.
@@budgetfriendlybiking207 are u alive dude?
What biking trails are these?
American Adrenaline this is Riverbends trail in Shelby Township. One of my favorites.
I want to see a video where all of the parts that do what you expect them to do all of a sudden... don't.
James Stoup I'll call that video "the day my bike quit biking" hahaha.
