This reminds me how much I love boating and how much I hate boats. Best lesson I learned was cleaning the family boat every weekend after only two to three hours of boating. My dad also forgot to put the plug in twice, too. But for you guys and gals that live boating, here's to you. 🍻
Been watching your videos for some time now and got me into towing/salvage work. You’ve got a lot of respect from the guys in the yellow boats and the red boats. Keep up the good videos Capt.🤙🏼
Just came across your Chanel, great content. We’re putting a few boats out on Kerr lake here in NC for Towboatus and I’m going to be one of the captains. Definitely soaking in all your content, no pun intended lol. Keep it coming.
That was really interesting to watch I don't even have a boat yet and I thought that was cool. but I do have a couple questions. what were the white things that you threw on top of the flooded area they look like towels? would an airbag have helped? And last but not least how old is that dog? I look forward to the next one.
@@ScooterTraveler new puppy 12 weeks old. Come-alongs are less work & cleanup so we prefer over lift bags. White towels are oil absorbent pads, they’re still white which means they didn’t absorb much, they soak it up oil & fuel well if there’s enough in the water.
Does insurance normally total boats when this happens? I know the boat itself is fine but what about all the wiring.. I’ve heard stories about it may seem fine but over time it starts causing major problems.
I’m new to boating, so please I really appreciate your advice. Can this boat be salvaged? Is this cost effective or should potential buyers move on to something less expensive?
What were those white square pads things that you threw out at about 3:14 of the video? You should add a small clock in the corner of your video to show how long you spent on the job! Awesome work by the way!
Newer 31-foot Sea Ray only has 14 hours on the engine and generator. Just got professionally cleaned and detailed. Started just fine last month. Now it doesn't start. Don't have time to mess with it. I love it! the fittings all look like nylon/plastic and ill bet every single one is original. This is a Perfect example of someone who knows nothing about pmc, that these nylon thru hulls have a shelf life and need to be inspected and replaced yearly as needed, this owner has got too much money, no maintenance knowledge and no f'n bussiness owning a boat, you shouldve left that sea ray pos on the bottom, youd have been doing the boating world a favor
I used to see a fire boat 🚢 on a lake I visited and it was a twin jet boat and the engines had some serious power but back to the jets it had water pipe that came up off the jet exit nosills and had fire hose connectors and where capped but when needed you could uncap and connect fire hoses and close the jets man could it pump water 💧 might want to think about that 🤔 might be something you'd convert your rescue boat. PS hope you read this 😊😊😊
😮kinda scary when you use the boat the day before and they was nothing showing up and just one night everything changed 😮this is why you don’t ever just be complacent about your boat you have to constantly check your vessel because just like this guy you could end up paying a very expensive repair bill always check your plumbing for leaks because that probably what happened here his hoses clamp slipped off and he wasn’t aware of it
There is no avg cost or time. Each boat takes time to refloat. Just like an actual diagnosis for fixing a vehicle. Takes time to diagnose the problem. Next is the cost for the repairs.
I have never understood why Florida has the nickname, "Sunshine State." Is it to be ironic? It rains every day. It is hot, humid, disgusting, there. It should be nicknamed, "The Sweaty Soggy State." It is beautiful to see. But, it is a nasty place to live, unless you like sweating, stinky people, and lots of rain.

Very impressive effort! A good reminder to not have any more thru-hulls than the boat absolutely needs.
Close them when away from boat

That slip was a bit narrow for the boat. A simple board used to prevent the boat from getting held under the dock would have been so easy.
What happens after a job like this? How do you get it clean and dry?
How much did the recovery of that boat cost?
Exhaust boots come off all time!
