THANK YOU SONMUCH FOR THESE VIDEOS! So many people talk about how complicated this synth can be but I find it a joy to use and edit! Maybe it’s because I’m an 80’s kid so I prefer this UI set much more than any app! I’m so sick of looking at high def screens and their bright blinding colors! Maybe it’s not the Wavestation that’s so hard to program, maybe we have been programmed to find an “easy” route for everything. If this were the 91 you wouldn’t have UA-cam OR ANOTHER CHOICE but to edit the way it was intended for you to edit!
thankyou, this very was very important to me, very clear explanation of whats going on in wave sequence! It all still blows me away wen i think of it... this is such a amazing idea for 1991.. just wow... got this synth very recently and iam totaly inlove with it, it can sound very modern wen u know what to do in it
man, thanx A LOT for this demo. You explain things really well, I had (and have) several synths like Morpheus, which is really pain to program, so I thought the ws is much more complicated.. has always been affraid to dive into it, now can't wait to buy one! Thank you!
Nice tutorial, but unfortunately knowing how to do something complicated doesn't make it simpler. It just makes it doable. For the lovers of this unique synth i would suggest the ipad app. Soundwise it is the same if not better, and programming wise it is day and night. The app UI makes it so much easier to explore and really enjoy the surprising capabillities of this synth.
yeap, i did buy it and im so amazed what a gem this synth is :) it had 5 rom cards with it aswell and in a shape that is NEW :) think i did a good deal there ;)
Synthesis - I don’t have a Wavestation but have used the VST. I’d assume you would just do it the same as a regular wave sequence except with drum waves?
Thanks a lot for the expaination. I don't understand about the AMP-ATTACK-WAVE though? You mean the SLOPE can only be applied to the very FIRST event in the WAVE SEQUENCE please?
+monsterjazzlicks You could use the VST to follow along in this tutorial. The VST is okay, but it's a bit fiddly when you only can use the mouse to edit the parameters.

I have this synthenzier. Very complicated but the sounds can be infinite.

Figure it out yet? I found one for $120 and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it.
Worth it just for the keyboard as a master midi controller frankly + bonus sounds.. :)

monsterjazzlicks Yes. to the first event. because the envelope treats the wavesequence as a single wave.
