Nice review. Geeky I know, but on a side-by-side comparison with the Aprilia Tuono 660, I like the KTM. Now, if Aprilia does a middle of it, and goes towards a 900cc naked (which seems inevitable in 2022/2023), now that would be an awesome comparison.

That would be awesome. Aprilia is one of the last brands of bikes that I haven't ridden. Considered for a brief moment buying a Shiver, but went with the Super Duke.

Great video. I'm currently debating either a KTM 890 Duke or a Yamaha mt-07. Have you ever rode the mt-07? Curious how they compare.

I rode an FZ-09 a few years back. I think they're not too extremely dissimilar, but the KTM has a bit more of a polished fit and finish, IMO.

@@thatoneguymoto thanks. Ended up going with an mt-07. Still breaking it in

Do you know if you can use the anti wheelie for controlled wheelies? Like on the new Mt09 where you can adjust it to wheelie but avoid going over the top.

Typically, the wheelie control is consistent at keeping that front wheel on the ground, all the time. I don't wheelie, though, so I couldn't say for sure.

LoL funny question that MT-09 is known for just hoisting. During my test ride of the MT-09 SP at this bike show, it came up rolling on after a right hand turn then I rolled off.
The way anti-wheelie usually work is cutting power once hitting a preset angle and/or how quick the front is rising. You can bring it up without it engaging if it's the anti-wheelie that has different levels of adjustability.

BTW, yes to your question. This video demos Yammy's LIF ua-cam.com/video/1mbnjFDXyVY/v-deo.html

Let me share why I discourage test riding. You'll go to the dealer afterwards and ride off with the one.

It definitely requires some self control 🤓

@@thatoneguymoto It was self-control for a few months for sure; then I had to make the dream come true. It was the bike I imagined couldn't exist.

890 was in a bad position, for a few thousand more you can get the R with better brakes and better suspension and if you can find a 790 its in a better position because it comes stock with track pack and up/down shifter
KTM should have just kept 790 and 890R And not release the 890 at that time

Yeah, it's hard to imagine what they were thinking, since you gotta believe the 890 was already in dev when they released the 790... 🤔

I see the 21 890 on sale for my first bike 😅 with 650miles for 7500 usd.. is that a go?
