He's been working all Summer to pay his dad, Chip, back for half of the truck all-the-while saving up for parts as well. Can't beat a young truck enthusiast with a good work ethic. Check out this awesome truck and let Jake know what you think in the comments below.

Thank you everyone for the support! I am blown away by how much people like the truck and I appreciate it! Thank you all so much!!
You're the man, Jake!
Working to pay for something. What an interesting concept.
How is that interesting everyone has to do it?
Maybe not high school kids but their time will come, that’s irrelevant you need to realize life is not fair bud
@@fufhsmfbcjcndf7721 True its better to focus on your own life then to be jealous of others you will actually notice change once you go out and do something not just hate on others luck
Your life must be interesting 🤣
Now when that boy speaks he sounds like a grown man... I'd love to have a son like that with the same passion.
DrivenByGears ikr he sounds so much older
Im 14 i have the same passion but i live in denmark and thers no truks here
OwnerNinja shut the hell up wtf
OwnerNinja shut up god damn
OwnerNinja there’s trucks everywhere
My father saved me a 1990 Chevy c1500 454 7.4 L for about 19yrs, a lot of people tried to buy her off from him but told them no because he was saving her for me for 19yrs and handed her over to me the truck was a bit beat up( rims were rusty, paint was peeling off, roof in interior was falling) so I saved up and worked and gain enough to fix this truck bad ass, Anyway Keep up that amazing work on your truck 🤘🏾It’s cool to bring back to life these old trucks 💯
Man, that's really cool! Glad you got it going the way you wanted.
Still got it?
Jimbo Slice yes Sirrr

We need more kids like him in this world! Really cool first truck! I had a 87 foxbody mustang for my first ride, would of been cooler if it was a squarebody. Keep it up Jake!
Heck yeah, man. Though ain't nothing wrong with a fox body as a first ride.
I'm like him
My first truck that I have right know is a 1981 Chevy c10
@@UNITEDBYTRUCKS my problem is that I don't have a way to get parts for my truck. My truck just needs brakes. And I think that's the last thing that I need that I know of.
Wicked C10 i’m 15 and i have a 66 c10 with a 350 i don’t care about looks i care that it runs and run hard
Awesome stance, great color combo; gotta love a two tone C10 with bright chrome bumpers.
Exactly! So clean.
Nice ride young man!!! Keep working hard buddy!! Great job mom and dad!!
Well said!
Ok, this is just impressive the way this young guy talks about his truck. It's very obvious he knows what he is talking about and not just let someone else do the work for him. Great job!!!
It really is!
Jake is one lucky young man to have such a clean truck and a great dad !
No doubt about it!
"Jakes Break".
Finding that truck was a big break.
Very slick color.
Great video
Thanks!
So awesome Jake. It's really cool that your are getting into trucks at a young age. Always keep your truck dont get rid of it, it's a special memory for your childhood with your dad. I'm 16 and trying to fix up my 95 obs.
Great advice
That’s a great kid with a nice taste in trucks.
Absolutely!
I was 13 when I got my 67.., wish I’d kept it.., but I still have my Squarebody I got when I was 17..!
👍🏼
I love all 3 of my squarebodies. My lifted blazer is a workout to drive but it keeps anyone else from driving it
Working mans restorations
👍🏼
I wish my dad was into trucks when i was growing up. Nice truck Jake, don't ever get rid of it.. ever!
That’s an awesome truck Jake. Keep up the good work. Cherish the time spent with your dad working on those projects , because they fly by.
Well said!
Bought my first squarebody, a 1982 GMC Sierra C1500 with a 250ci 6cyl and a TH350 Automatic when I was 15, and I've had 7 since now at 18. This 83 looks pretty rad. I've currently got a 1983 GMC K2500 High Sierra 6.2L diesel, SM465 4 spd, and a 208. I've also got a 1983 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe C10 with a 305/TH350C which has been my project as of now.
Heck yeah, man! You've got the bug for sure it sounds like.
I am 15 years old and I have a 1986 GMC Sierra Classic I bought it all my self I have lowered it also put rims ect. I am hoping to do car shows and I am glad to see other kids my age doing the same.
Jake you are one blessed young man, to have such a great dad and pretty awesome GMC Sierra as well. keep cutting those lawns and getting to know your truck front to back, and stay safe.
That's right!
I don’t know why people disliked this video. Truly a badass truck Jake and Chip. You guys got a real cool truck on your hands, it’s something you can’t find at all. I’ve been looking for some time lol. But hey, cheers Jake my hat is off for you and that badass truck of yours.
That's super cool! He does have one cool truck.
I was 15 when I bought my 84 short wheelbase. The truck was 10 years old when
I bought it. It was originally the same color blue with a 305. I built it front to back new every nut and bolt on that truck. Great job buddy! You’ll build memories that will last a lifetime with that truck. I’m 40 yrs old now and still have remember my truck like it was yesterday. I have a 75 short wheelbase now about to drop a 502 in her. Beautiful truck love the wheels. Btw my sons name is Jake also. Lol
Dude that's an awesome story! Really cool parallels between your's and Jake's truck.
What a cool truck and a great young man with great parents .
Well said, John!
Jake, Great little C10 you have there. Keep up the hard work and learning all about it. Chip, what a way to teach your son how to appreciate and give value of ownership to the truck.
Completely agree!
You cant go wrong with any Chevy truck ... I love my 72 and 86 the best .....
No doubt about it!
Damn straight. I grew up with a neighbour that traded in his early 80s Bronco for a long bed 85 c10. I was into Tamiya RC's as a kid (hence user pic) and this neighbour had a Tamiya Clod Buster (square body monster truck), and I was hooked. I had to pass on the red 85 square I wanted as I now have two kids, so I have a 93 C1500 ext with a 4/6, and I love it, But goodness do still think of that square body..
@@BRMN8R That's so cool!
Powerful testimony of a father and son making memories together love the truck 👍🏼😀
Young man Jake has a sweet square body. He's definitely going in the right direction and definitely has some cool parents. I hope he pays it off quick and I know he can't wait to actually drive this truck. Thanks for another awesome video. Welcome to the square body family Jake
Thanks 703! Completely agree.
heck yeah awesome glad to see the kids starting early like this thanks for the video fellas
Thanks for tuning in, Jeremy!
Hey Whitlock Garage, Great video! Thank you for sharing good news about this impressive young man! Like Father ~ like Son...
like you said - what a great team, his parents! Look forward to seeing what he does next!! Part two - next summer!
That's right! Lots of great things going on with this one.
H E C K YEA TO NEXT SUMMER PART 2 OF ( what's in my driveway today )...?
....... can't wait to see the truck's & hear the brief cool story's of 'em both here AGAIN ... or even the half trucks u know like the elcamino's .... from the young guy's & gal's as well !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROCK ON GUY'S !!!!!!!!!!
Perfect truck kid was raised right and respectful I hope to see more from him
Absolutely! Agree.
I teach high school kids and there are a few kids that get it like this kid but not nearly enough!! Great job by his parents of teaching him a work ethic. That's what our young people need to learn so desperately today!
Very true!
Cool truck. Awesome parenting.
Totally agree!
Tell Jake his truck is amazing, and he has every reason to be proud of it. And also, the benefits of that spectacular bench seat will become apparent on dates. Something his buds will probably envy.
Bahahah will do
My dad let me buy my first truck, a 58 Chevrolet Apache when I was 12 years old. I had saved the money for years from birthdays, Christmas, working odd jobs around the house and for other people. This brings back a lot of good memories for me. And I hope that Jake will always remember what his dad did for him. It's a better start than most get so, be humble, be kind; always remember the great memories past, present and future. Awesome Truck Man!!
So well said, Alan. And what an awesome first truck for you!
Very clean pickup. Glad he is already got the old school bug. 👍
Me too! He's got a good Dad to help with that.
Very awesome great job. I wish my son was like this but instead he thinks everything should be handed to him. I have a strong work ethic which he doesn’t like and refuses to show that he even has a hint of of it. So with that being said he won’t get my 83 square with his current work ethic. Hope this episode motivates some of the young generation.
I hope it does as well. Thanks for tuning in and appreciating what we're trying to do.
Tdub781 i dnt blame u there bro i wouldnt give him anything neither like u said not wit how he is wit not wantn to do no work at all. most kids today u hav to make them do stuff when it comes to workn. but tell them that u gonna give them somn i oh boy they live to hear stuff like that smh. sorry n hope he changes n wanna do som work wit u bro.good luck
500$ and I have my 87 c10 paid off
too tdub781... i had my farm license when i was really young working between 3 working local real farm's & still going to school & not allowed to park in the school lots......which was a lot closer to run into the building's.... yea we had 10 differant building's @ the school.... any whoooo I REALLY WONDER AS FAR AS YOUNG GUY'S OR GAL'S FOR THAT MATER IF THEY KNOW WHAT A FARM LICENSE OR SOME TOLD OF A LIMITED FARM LICENSE WAS / IS NOT SURE IF THEY EVEN DO THEM ANY MORE IN THE SOUTH OR THE NORTH AS OF 2019....
..... ROB do u know what they were..... WITH OUT Googling it......!!!! no cheating !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic truck, young man, Dad and Mom!
Bought my 77k10 from a junk yard when I was 13 for 600$ then me and my dad took it down to the frame and built it all back. Only things we kept was the axels, cab, bed, and radiator support. Built a 355 and got a 700r4. Whole interior is brand new with a custom seat, custom painted PBE viper blue with the metal flake. I’m 18 now and still driving it. Anything on the truck was put on by us some were even custom made like the shifting linkage we made coming out of the floor instead of the steering column. Nothing but proud of the truck
Very very cool! Stick with it.
My 15 year old son and i are currently doing a frame off restoration of a 1971 gmc longhorn, that hasent run in 20 years, got in running in 4 hours, driving in 5, showed him how to do a burn out on the old bias ply tires, he was 20 feet away and the truck disappeared! ;)
Haha that's awesome!
Jake my first one was an 84 for my dad and now I drive the 97 from my dad you go man keep on going !thanks Whitlock for another great video
Thanks, Jay! And Jake is definitely on the right track.
United for life! That he is.
My first truck was a 81 and I was his age man this kid is lucky and my advice to him don’t stop adding to your truck and don’t let any girls come in between you and your truck
There you go! haha
Awesome that a young man is putting his time into trucks and not video games!! Way to go Jake, awesome truck!! Good job Mom and Dad!!
Agree!
I love watching these videos, but this one absolutely made me smile. Good job Jake, way to go dad for teaching the value of a dollar!!
Thanks for tuning in! He's a good kid and it was a pleasure working with Jake on it. And his dad? Yep, a great guy teaching his son invaluable skills.
These trucks are my next project once I'm done with my daily 98 k1500. I love the concept these parents presented to their kid and the fact that he is putting the work in to maintain and build the truck up to be a daily. Much respect.!
Totally!
Awesome job Jake and Chip. That's the way to keep the hobby alive.
Exactly!
Super cool truck , love the color , awesome dad , he did an amazing job raising Jake......what a respectful young man ....very impressive....proud of him . I have a feeling this won't be his last truck ...god bless him 🙏
Cool dad. Good memory for a kid to have 🙏
Completely agree.
Cool truck Jake, love the colour combo and wheel choice, living the dream, hope you have miles of smile driving this truck😊👍
That's what it's all about!
Nice truck -props to the cool dad
Jake, you got something some folks twice your age desire... a clean Square! Keep up the good work! Great backstory
I agree completely.
Exactly
Nice truck Jake. You have a cool dad. Listen to him and enjoy him. I got my first vehicle when I was 15. 1973 cutlass
No doubt about it!
Congrats young man, love the truck! Still tooling away on my 84 c10. Who knows maybe some day I can meet Rob and the rest of the United by trucks family.
Hope we can make that happen as well! We'll be at a few more shows over the next few months and wrenching away creating content for you guys when we're not.
That truck is gorgeous! Awesome to see such a young guy into these trucks. He'll be the coolest cat in the highschool lot!
No doubt about it!
Good job Jake, very cool ride. Your dad and mom must be great people to help such a great kid..good luck
They are!
Get that boy in your t shirt, awesome to see the young boy not on his phone

Love the truck Jake... I had an 82 in high school and an 87 about 10 years ago loved them both looking to buy my 3rd one... keep that mind set you have now you will go far in life. Good job dad.
Great advice!
My uncle has 2 beautiful classic trucks like this one and the mustard looking one 🤔 I literally saw the blue one he has and fell in love 😍
Very cool!
I'm 30 and finally got me a 78 Chevy c10 stepside...first square body and I'm happy to say I own one!!!
Heck yeah!
Very cool truck young blood, you have great parents! Enjoy that piece of history!
Well said!
Beautiful truck. My k5 is an 84 that i love work in on. I love squarebodies
Heck yeah, man! They're hard to beat.
First of all you have a beautiful truck, I love everything about it and your story most of all. You must be a pretty good son for you parents to put this kind of trust in you and I want to commend them both for wanting to help you. This is a huge life lesson and something that you'll never forget, so never take your parents for granted, always treat them with the greatest of respect. Jake, you had a vision that appears to have come true and I hope that it brings you more memories than you can ever imagine. Love the colors, wheels, interior, stance, and mostly because a 14 year old boy gets to one day soon drive it daily. Awesome story Whitlock Garage, keep up the good work.
Thank you, Shannon! Completely agree. What a cool scenario!
That’s a badass truck👌 Last year when I was 13 my dad helped me purchase my 92 Nissan Sentra XE. The car/truck scene needs more dads like ours jake👍
That's super cool!
Got a 79’ big 10 and I love it best thing to have ever graced this earth
There you go!
Was just going threw Hiram and saw this truck come home get on here and this is the first video that pops up
We're reading your mind! haha
That is such a clean, cool truck. That is a really lucky kid with awesome parents. I think my favorite part of this is that it's such a clean, simple build. No fuel-injected engine swap, no crazy high-horsepower engine, no hydraulics or crazy paint job, just a clean, simple build, right down to the original 305.This is an attainable truck for short money that you could take to any car show and turn a whole lot of heads.
Couldn't agree more!
Glad to see a young man working for something he wants. He will appreciate it. keep up the good work jake
Completely agree
Good looking truck 👌👌👌

@Luke Yacono I've been working on cars\trucks since I was 16yrs old with my uncle. I'm now 36yrs old. Try and find a non smog yr running or not. Parts are pretty cheap and they are a lil easier to work on. I've been in a shop the last 17yrs after my uncle had shown what and how to do things. You younger generation has the net to help out now. When I first started we did had access to a computer.
UBT has finally brought me to the point of dragging my 85 Chevy Silverado out of the back field and get going on it. Thank you!!!
So good to hear, man! Get after it!
How cool is that!
So cool!
Keep up the great work make and your dad!

You know the little things that really matter bud. Great job and beautiful truck and I tip my hat to your dad.

Thanks, Harold! We've got a whole playlist full of them and have no plans to stop. I like going in-depth on these trucks and talking to the owners about their story with the truck. Much better than just filming a truck with no background or history.
Man that freaking truck is so clean and straight. Love the story beyond the truck. Congrats on the truck jake. Man I love that truck I'm jealous. Thanks for sharing and keep the vids coming
It really is a ridiculously clean truck!
