LOCATION: 2800 blk of Prospect St
CITY: San Diego County
INCIDENT DETAILS:
Neighbors said a man and a woman were arguing outside of the home. At some point, the woman went into the home where her ex-boyfriend was. He is in a wheelchair. We were told by the victim's mother, that the suspect had told the victim to come over to pick up her belongings.
She was then shot in the stomach at some point. The suspect also shot at the male friend that was with her. The male friend drove her to the to Paradise Valley Hospital. She was then transported to Mercy and is on Life-support according to her mother.
NCPD and SDSO have responded and calling for the suspect to surrender. A man (cousin of the suspect) was detained after going through the crime tape, stating he lives in the house. he was later released.
The suspect came to the open front door of the house and he may have been shot with bean bags but we are unsure. We heard 2 loud bangs. Family members were causing problems for Deputies at the tape line. The suspect was detained and sent to a hospital to be checked out.
The family kept yelling he was paralyzed how’d he shoot 2 people? Obviously his arms work if he doesn’t have an aid with him full time helping him maybe he should’ve just opened the door and came out.
paralyzed or not, what if he's got a semi automatic gun or grenades or bombs, Etc. This day and age you can't be too cautious.
Damn this kid interviewing on the that crazy family members will definitely get hurt, here he is talking about the same people that had a previous encounter with another victim, and he lives right across from them smfh... Hope you are still alive for doing an interview.

In the early 70s, I went to UCSD for a couple of classes and commuted from LA. They were short classes and was only down there a couple of days a week. I always had fun down there and never had any problems with anyone. I see over the last 45 years or so, the San Diego area and National City has changed. For a fairly small city, area wise, the National City Police Department seems to be busier than a one armed wall paper hanger... Surprising.
we don't call National City 'Nasty City' for nothing. i've lived in San Diego all my life and have yet to find a reason to go there.
Things are going down hill in this border towns. Nothing good can come from low income and lack of work...
The 70's was back in the day was when you could drive safely on the freeways. Miss those days.

As long as you keep your finger off the trigger and/or your weapon on safe until you're ready to fire it's a safe weapon. Why don't people get that? It's not the weapon that is deadly but the person using the weapon.

Do you know anything about gun safety? A gun can sit on a table with a round in the chamber on safe, no touching it and never hurt a single person. FOCUS. Only people make guns dangerous. Not guns.

I agree that even though the woman cried out, "He can't walk!" the officers still have to ensure all is safe and secure. Sometimes, people wildly overreact and say things just to distract those officers responding to such an incident as this, or to cause an even worse event to occur via chaos creators.

I think the suspects girlfriend has dump him because he became in wheelchair and he is paralysed so his gf may got bored of him as she cant hang around with him anymore as he paralysis..so the suspect may got in depressed and asked her to take all her belongings and he would have shot her when he was out of mind when she dump him
