I have made these towels . Great seller and quick and easy gifts !
That is wonderful🌸 Thank you for letting us all know that these are hot sellers🦋
What Fabric did you buy .?Does it dry the dishes very well ?
I made a few of those for my mother in-law, but I sewed on a large matching button on the bottom of the pot holder where you put the Velcro. The hoop went right over the button. They looked good, but sure wish this video was out last year when I made them for her. I like your dish towels way better that the ones I used. I had bought the Dollar Tree dish towels, but never again. The holiday prints have something on them so they don’t absorb well. I didn’t sew in the ditch, just didn’t think about it to be honest. Mine would have looked so much better if I had done that. If I make any more, I’ll follow your instructions so they will be prettier looking towels. Thank you for sharing!
I love the button idea Christine...✅
I agree Christine. It needs a button but just tacked on the front. Just to jazz it up.
Can you show us how to sew a towel with a dress top, with the back neck being higher than the front? I have no idea how to do that.
Cute idea, but I'm not a fan of that sticky back Velcro. Would rather sew it on or maybe put a button on the back for that lip to go over. Thanks for the cute idea to make these little towels.
You're welcome🌸Thank you for watching💛
dont pull the tags off, cut them off, so you dont make a hole
You do a great job of explaining every step. Thank you.
How much would you charge for them?
Approximately $10 "ish" they are selling for✅
So I think I'll make some quilted potholders as we don't have a dollar store in my village.. You're brilliant thank you so much my friend you are also adorable... Blessings❤🌻🌻🌻🙏
Thank you for all your kind feedback Ms freedom...I appreciate it so much💛
@@TheSewingChannel awww you are so welcome my dear, you are a true blessing to all of your friends, we totally enjoy you...🌸🌷🌻💕🙏🙏🙏
My dollar store is over 100 miles away also but think I might make a trip
These are the cutest and easiest towels I've seen! Many thanks for sharing!
Very nice and easy to understand. I am trying to get back into sewing after many years of leaving it behind and at that point I was just a near beginner, making little dresses for my daughter when she was small. Now she's nearly42!
Glad it was helpful!
@Julie Anderson. You and I are in the same boat. 😁 I think I was an advanced beginner years ago, when I made my oldest Daughter some cute little dresses. Another easy project I am doing are curtain valances.
I love these. How much would it cost if you used a whole towel and do you think it would lay as pretty?
I made these years and years ago. But I added ties at the bottom of the pot holder/top of towel to use as little kids aprons for the kitchen helper.
What a great idea love the fact you can get 2 out of each towel many thanks ❤️
You are so welcome Rose!🌸
Love your beginner series! I'm enjoying this series bc the simplest things sell like hotcakes with free syrup! 💖
They sure do sell like hotcakes Leesa✅😂LOL
Thank you. I’m new and appreciate the way you teach
Thank you Margaret 💛 welcome to The Sewing Channel💛
These are so cute! However as a beginner, I don’t own a surfer or know how to use one…how would I make this without having to surge and still keep a clean edge on the back?
In the video I show how to use a zig zag stitch on your sewing machine✅
I see Christmas gifts to make in my future 👀!! Thanks for this 💗
These will make great Christmas gifts!🌸
I love it, but for me, if I was going to sell it, I would sew a piece of ribbon or something over the unfinished edge.
great idea✅
Could you use color snap on looks better to me
Great video Sooo pretty Thank you for sharing. Blessings to you and your family 🙏🙏❤️❤️
Those potholders from the Dollar Tree are really cute! I have several of them. But last week I used one to take a roasting pan out of the oven and it melted! I have some of the Lee Drummond glove potholders and I burned my hand using one of them. They have some silicone streaks across the palms, but it was like there was no padding or protection in one spot. I just must have bad luck with potholders. I think I might just make my own potholders using several layers of wrap-n-zap and quilt them myself. You're ideas are always so cute! Thanks for sharing.
I love my potholders. 2 pieces inselbrite one layer batting. I only use wrap and zap when i am putting it in microwave
Great advice Christine✅
You are totally right about the potholders being too thin✅ They work perfect for the hanging towel project💛
@@christinechristoffersen6256 Thanks for the tip! I've never tried Inselbrite.
I need the board you have on your wall. I have never found one that big
amzn.to/3Nop3KE
Is their a fabric glue that works if no sewing machine?
I am not sure. Glue doesn't sound secure enough🤷🏻♀️
These are so cute! My towels always fall on the floor so I took to clipping them on the stove with a cpl quilters
Clips! 😁
The ones with crocheted 🧶 tops are cute too . . . Until you wash them. Then the terry gets fuzz balls all over the crochet and they look terrible!
I was thinking that if you sewed the potholder to the back of the towel first, then put a button with a shank on the front, you could fold the potholder over the front and put the loop over the button. I think it would be cute, and thought that’s what you were going to do when I saw the potholders. Have you tried this? If so, did it work? Or is the loop too big to stay buttoned?
I was also wondering if I could make it work by folding the towel in half instead of cutting it, but wonder if the curve could be achieved. When I’m working in the kitchen, my towels get wet fast, so I’d like a double layer, so it will last longer. Any ideas? TFS. I like easy bc it also means fast! 😂
Susan...you can totally use a button...I wanted to keep it fast and simple✅ You can double it for sue...I'm not sure you would have the curve though...do a trial one and see✅
I used these towels, but I crocheted tops on all of them. Because you cut them in half, I had enough to make my daughter and myself plenty of kitchen towels. My daughter has little ones, so her towels always ended up on the floor. So now hers hang of her oven door, which is perfect and the kids to wipe there hands and clean the towel doesn’t fall on the floor. ❤️❤️❤️ Great video.
Thanks for sharing and Thank you for the kind feedback Artie💛
can you please give me an idea what a good asking price is for these towels ? Thanks
I wouldn't ask more than $9-$10🤷🏻♀️
@@TheSewingChannel thank you for your advice!!! And thank you for the tutorial 😊
Super cute 😍 project.! Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
You are so welcome Teresa🌸
Would not suggest self stick velcro. As a long time sewist and quilter I know from experience that self stick velcro does not stick reliably - even after 24 hrs.
What is it used for.
a kitchen towel?
i do craft shows
As always sis….you have brilliant ideas!! Love it!!🤗💕
Thank you so much sis!!!! 💛🦋🤗
Oh I love them. A change from the crochet ones I do. I'm sure if I have a look our dollar type stores will have the pot holders. Getting nice tea towels might be more of a challenge. They are so nice it will be worth it to find just the right tea towels. Thanks for this lovely idea Tracy. Good for anyone to make, not just beginners. I love to make these for presents.
Great idea Sue to give as gifts!!✅ Who can't use a kitchen towel🤷🏻♀️
I love your beginner ideas because they are actually useful. I like making them for family gifts....
Thank you! 😊 I like making these easy-useful projects too✅
Love doing this...no potholders available for a long time tho...just empty hooks...
wow...are the hooks still empty Shirley?
@@TheSewingChannel yes...they are..I have access to three dollar trees...almost no potholders in any of them. ..a few towels..I could make the potholders, but I don't like making them. I keep checking when I am out and about.
I love that idea, very cute. I made some bowl cozies out of the same dish towels, I am totally going to do this with the towels I haven't used yet for cozies. Made a little bit of a mess the first towel I cut , I was more careful the next LOL Thanks for the inspiration !
These are super simple to make too Coleen!!✅
@@TheSewingChannel 🥰 "super simple" is my favorite kind!
Good tutorial. Are we sure these will sell?🤔 I made some cute bowl covers, like for stand mixers, and didn't sell even one at the bazaars where I was a vendor. I didn't make it to many bazaars, though. I think these are adorable, I always have one hanging from my stove. 😬
Where did you get your red handled cutter
In is all in my infor box below video...with special links✅
Very cool idea, but l would like to have a finished back as you do when you make a square, line the square, turn it inside out, and sandwich the towel in-between the two layers.
Tracy what you do if you don’t have a serger to finish the edge
You can zig zag✅
@@TheSewingChannel thanks Tracy I don’t know why I didn’t think of that. As usual you have come to my aid thanks for being you
Great tutorial as always! ❤️❤️❤️ What a great idea!
Thank you so much Kris...💛 I appreciate your support of my channel so much💛
Awesome job I’m going try❤️
Yay...go for it Filomena!!~!✅
Thank you for sharing. . I can't have enough dish towels.
You and me both!✅
Gracias por compartirlo
I love your tutorial on how to make them with potholders. Did you post where you bought your towels at? Thanks
Thank you Brenda...the towels are from Walmart ...made by Pioneer Woman✅
Just so so clever love e all you're tutorials. 💐💐💐👏👏👏😃😃😃
Thanks so much for the kind feedback Janel 💛😊
Your video was so well done. I believe I will do a reverse attachment on the potholder though. I feel it would look cuter with a button on the towel. And the loop on the potholder representing a buttonhole if you will.
Now I have to hurry up and go to Walmart and the dollar store so I can make these for our daughters!
Run Joan LOL😂
Very cute & clever. I love your videos and your channel. You always give really great instructions and you dont leave out the important info. 😊
I'm loving this video. Goes well with my daughter's jams and jellies booth at her festivals! Thanks so much!
You are so welcome Margie💛
You are so stinkin' clever!!!!! And these are so stinkin' cute!!!!! 😉 I love how you coordinated the fabric with the pot holders - beautiful combos! The red, blue and white one is my favorite (the one you made in the video). If I weren't so broke from buying PL fabric today and yesterday at Hobby Lobby (40% off this week), I'd buy one of your towels. (BTW: Had a set back issue with the feed dogs on my sewing machine yesterday, but that's now been resolved. Made about 8 to 10 quilt sandwiches while fuming about the problem yesterday, so at least I got some prep work done. Ready for FMQ practice in just a few mins. before I go to dinner with a neighbor friend. Going to check out a fairly new restaurant. Will continue with practice this evening.)
Practice makes "almost perfect" in quilting LOL😂 Hope you enjoyed your meal at the new restaurant !!✅
I love the cutting board you have hanging on the wall. I have a old one. Question how did you hang it?
I love the project. I plan on trying it. Thanks so much. It was a great tutorial.
You are so welcome!💛
I LOVE THIS SOOOO MUCH! I love to be generous to lots of people at Christmas but right now it is hard to be. This is going to be one of my go to gifts❤! Your patience when explaining was unmatched. You are a lifesaver for me! I LOVE your channel!
Dear Tracy: I will attempt to make those cute hanging towels. My friend Marge gave eight pot holders and I bought the towels. I will let you know I made out with this project. Thank you for all your ideas and projects. Thank you again, keep up the good works.
So nice of your friend Rich✅Have fun making them🌸
Stitching in the ditch!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have never heard that term before, but I am LOL!
Beautiful, thank you for sharing
You're welcome Suzette🌸
Thanks for sharing sprinkle with love from Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️
Thank you for clear instructions! Perfect for some summer birthday gifts, and items for our church bazaar this fall.
Great gifts for sure...and not expensive to make but yet useful!! It's a win-win Julia✅
Hello 👋 new follower here! I am a self taught quilter and I LOVE this!!! Thank you sooo much for sharing!
Thank you for sharing this video with us and hello from Queensland, Australia 🙂
You do a wonderful job explaining the steps.
Great tutorial! Thank you!
I crochet tops with a flower to close it. No need for a button.
If I dont have a serger, how would I make that cut edge look right? I also do not have a sewing machine so I will be hand stitching. Thank you.
Try some "pinking shears"✅
Love it thank you
You’re welcome 😊
Hope they still have those colorful towels. Makes a useful gift.
Love the way you have them flare out. You do beautiful work
I'm going to try to make some of those for Christmas I can never buy my family anything for Christmas. I'm going to try this to see if I can do this I haven't sold in a long time love your video.
You can do it!
Loved it and you gave me such a good idea for little gifts to give when i go visiting. Thanks Tracy.
Thank you for this channel! I have been looking for projects I could make and sell, for a little extra money. 😁 For we gals who don't have a serger, couldn't we just use an over cast foot?
Try it and see how it turns out...possibly "pink" it...or zig zag✅
Those dish towels with red flowers look like my moms china, old country rose. Our Walmart does have them here. They are so pretty.
I love the idea for the pot holder towels! I will be headed to the dollar store tonight. I am hoping to find some patriotic ones. I’ve been binge watching your channel this afternoon, lots of great ideas. I am looking for a hook to put on the side of my machine. Thanks!
Thank you so much Maggie for supporting my channel by watching my videos🌸
Thank you for such an easy to follow tutorial. I can't wait to try it
Loved the towels. Great video. 👍😊
Thank you so much Betty🌸
How much should I sell these at a Craft show??
Wow wow mesirprendistes Que belleza
Nice thanks
U are so good at explaining 👍
Awe thank you so much Mandy...your kind comment encourages me 💛
I have to say I love the ring you’re wearing!
I’m not a beginner, but I did enjoy your video.
Glad you enjoyed it!💛
I love ❤️ it , fantastic idea, thanks for sharing
I just love your tutorials! Thank you
Thank you Karen for the kind feedback💛
I can't wait to make these--thank you!
You’re welcome Madge! Happy sewing 🌸
Thank you for showing us how to make these beautiful tea towels! Great tutorial!
You are so welcome!
How much do they sell for?
I would like to find these dish towels. Cannot find.
Walmart or amazon carries them✅
How do you do the other side of the towel? It's upside 🙃 down after you cut it in the middle.
It depends on your pattern on your towel Gloria… Sometimes it will be facing the right way and sometimes it would be upside down so you would just need to choose your towel wisely.✅
Going to make these very nice 👌
Or you can use a button on the back.
Love 💕 the idea
Thank you Judith! 😊
So cute & easy gifts to make! 😍
They are totally easy Michelle!✅
Wonderful video. Do you happen to have an idea for cabinet handles that are vertical instead of horizontal? Thank you again for your great videos!
I would slant the towel so the corner is pointing up and add a fabric loop and then slip towel through loop snug....hope that makes sense✅
Thank you so very much!
Love this! Will be adding to my sell inventory for the fall.
Awesome!🌸
This is a great video for beginners. You made everything very clear
Glad it was helpful Stella💛
How do you display them at a craft fair?
Maybe a lattice type wall with hooks to hang them🤷🏻♀️
Wonderful ❤
Perfect!!!
You sell them online? You have shop online?
No not really....I haven't had time lately to make and sell🤷🏻♀️
I love your ring.
Adorable 🥰 & easy. Thanks 😊
You’re welcome Sara 😊
You are such a good thorough instructor. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!💛
