Oh WOW! That is the most unusual container Ive ever seen! High end, unique and gorgeous! I would never think of layering paper. I seem to be a one dimensional crafter and I need to go out of my comfort zone. You give me the push to do that, thanks! I learned a lot! You’re a great teacher!

That is lovely. I love your choice of blue oil paint as apposed to the usual brown. That's a nice touch. What is the crackle product you used here, although we probably won't have it here in the UK
Hi Caroleve So nice to see you again! Yes, I thought the blue would be a nice touch. Glad you like it. I used Pentart Fineline Crackle. I believe Pentart is a European company. You may be able to get it. I'll leave a link below for you. I purchase it on Etsy. Thank u sooooo much. I am a crafter wannabe but not very creative and i have a hard time thinking outside the box. I love watching ur videos and am learning so much.
Ok, well since you offered, lol, i do need some help. This is not related to thos video, but I've been watching your others on crackle. It seems so simple but mine failed. I tried it using polyvine crackel base and top coat. I let the bade coat dry for 2 hours, it was still tacky. Is it suppose to be that way? After 2 hours i decided to go shead and try the top coat. I did it on 2 surfaces, wood and ceramic. I got cracking on the wood but it was so small, you couldn't hardly see it. The ceramic didnt crackle at all. Any advice? I notice u use pentar crackling, is it better than polyvine? Thank u for any advice u have.
Hi Michele, I'm sorry you're having trouble. But I have some answers for you. There are so many different types of crackle finishes out there and each one of them gives you different types of crackles. The Polyvine Craquelure system gives you very tiny little crackles that almost give you a wood look. And yes the base coat does stay sicky when it's dry. I'm really not sure why it didn't work on ceramic though. Pentart Fineline crackle system gives you very large cracks that give a porcelain appearance. I the video you watched, I used the fineline crackle system. That is my absolute favorite one. You'll see me use that quite a bit in my videos. I'm going to leave you a link for a video that I used the Polyvine Craquelure system. I'm also going to leave you a link to another video where I demonstrate several types of crackle mediums. The Polyvine isn't in there, but you'll see one for Pentart classic crackle that most resembles the Polyvine Craquelure. If you are wanting the type of crackles in the Dragonfly video, you'll need Pentart Fineline crackle. I'll leave you a link for that as well. How do you get cardstock more flexible/thinner for decoupaging? Also, I'm confused as to what to use as sealers for my projects to seal them. I hear of so many, I don't know which to use on wood, seashells, plastics to name a few, various materials, both waterproof and non waterproof? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Ty
Hi Mary Cardstock is pretty thick and you wouldn't be able to get it thin enough for it to be suitable for decoupaging. You can thin paper, but cardstock would take so many applications of thinning that it wouldn't be worth your while. Is there a reason that you want to use cardstock? If you have a picture that's already on cardstock that you want to use, consider running a copy of it on paper. That you can thin well enough to be suitable for decoupaging. I'll leave you a couple links for sealers. The first one is a spray gloss sealer and works great. One of my personal favorites. I used it to seal this ceramic planter. The second one is a brush on sealer and is waterproof, which I used to seal the inside of this pot. It's a gloss as well. I use both of these all the time. @masoncreationsetc good morning, and thank you for responding. I have containers full of cardstock for when I did scrapbooking. I tried the tape and water method for thinning it and was hoping you had another method. I am going to order both sealers today. Keep up your beautiful work. Thank you again 💓
