This video shares how to download Unreal Engine from unrealengine.com, install the 4.27 version, and set up a basic project using the VR template. The J, K, and L keys will jump back, pause, and jump forward. The < key (Shift + , ) will slow the video playback. The > key (Shift + . )will speed up video playback.
Thank you for the video. 5:20 One note, the verify doesn't take hours, just a few minutes or maybe 20 minutes max: it's just 30 GB of files and it just verifies their hashes and downloads if there are any corrupted, that's all. I did that on Windows machine a few times. Even on a slow 5400 RPM HDD it takes like 30-40 minutes.
Hrm… I’ve not run into that. When I’ve run a verify it takes a really long time! So I hope that isn’t the case for you. Does it happen with a different version of the engine also? If so, perhaps reinstall Epic Games Launcher?
Nice tutorial man. I am trying to generate a build for the same template project with UE 4.27 on Mac. I am having error on "Deploying content on Android" stage saying Build Failed with the error java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Could not initialize class org.codehaus.groovy.vmplugin.v7.Java7 Can you suggest what to do with this case ? I have followed the exact procedure mentioned at the UE docs for installing all android related stuff. Please mention if you know the answer to this as over stack overflow I couldnt find anything useful. Thanks in advance
I think this is becuase your version of Java is out of sync with Android Studio's gradle. www.delftstack.com/howto/java/could-not-initialize-class-org-codehaus-groovy-vmplugin-v7-java7/ I got around these types of errors by pathing to the version of Java that ships with Android Studio. This is not an approach shared in the UE documentation, but I find it works well for me. In my video you'll see me path out to this Java version in my UE4 config.
@@arsalanahmad1832 yea! Good luck! Getting the build chain setup succcccks... hahaha! It took me forever and by the time I figured it out I was like "I gotta make a frickin video about this. Nobody deserves this pain."
