I don’t think that machine hasn’t seen any fluid since the soviets gave birth to it!! What a video, very very good. The self control you have is amazing, does nothing worry you. You will have a go at anything, and whatever you do it’s to a high standard. Love watching you work, keep it up. Amazing video and an amazing man. 👍

Yep, what a bunch of metal. The quantity of fluid that the dozer has to shift around means it needs to be a powerful beast! What a huge amount of grease, oil and lubricants! Glad you have the manual but I prefer your checklist, especially 'Don't die'. So, some therapeutic zip line stuff with the family is just what you need. Thanks again Andris for a great video and facing the challenge and might of Soviet engineering!

I believe the "mystery" bolt (with lock nut) located on the brake band housing(?) is a brake band adjustment bolt. If that's what it is, it's purpose is to slightly raise the brake band off of the brake drum, & prevent the brake band from dragging on the drum, when the brake (for right or left side tracks) is not applied. Similar bolts (with lock nuts) are on my bulldozer's brake band housings.

If you put that old hydraulic oil in a 44 gallon drum with a wood fire underneath and cook it for a number of hours, until the oil separates out the golden colour good stuff from the sludge at the bottom.
No need to give it to a big oil recycling company to profit off of.
Dont mix the engine oil with the hydraulic oil.
But cook both and recycle yourself.
    This is a African tip.
    Good video today Antz

Just a tip from an ex mechanic when you are greasing any bearing, roller etc as soon as you see the new grease emerging stop as after that point all you are doing is wasting new grease and creating a dirt magnet. Also wipe off the excess grease to deter from making a dirt magnet. Regards.

When you were jacking up the big Russian bulldozer I thought that jack wasn’t going to stop sinking into the ground until it hit Australia. The dozer is looking good. I’ve been watching the news and waiting for a report of a madman leveling off Estonia in a big Russian bulldozer but haven’t seen anything yet.
I had an idea for your zip line. You could build a reel for the rope with a handle on it so you could just crank the rope onto the reel instead of standing there pulling it in by hand. It looks like the zip line is going faster this year and looks like the kids are having a lot of fun on it. Hope the family is doing good and keep up the great videos.

I’m happy to see the bottom rollers we’re good and had oil in them, the top rollers got bad probably due to the tracks being to tight and pulling on the bearings more than the others and the front idler roller gets the most tension that’s why it went bad, you prob could replace the bearings and seals fairly easy, but I think the track tension is to high

This is a little late but here goes when we brain these types of units we drill with magnetic bit in the center of the plug bottom using a bit that correlate to the of of a hose or tuning we have selected when finished drilling a quick change from drill to tube or hose is all the risk of spill age we have to deal with. As far as the hole in plug goes we can weld up the hole or replace the plug ,make sure to use anti seize sparingly.done in the field this can attract the wrong type of attention with the wrong people . some people turn a quart of oil in to the exon Valdes !I enjoy your channel very much. Dissasemble one of the bad rollers and see if it is rebuildable.
Or just drill and tap the oil bungs for the bad rollers to fit grease nipples. Gets easier to apply grease.
What I have seen on the yt and what I know about UAZ (the soviet/russian jeep) everything is most often quite easily rebuildable.
But anyway and whatever it will be great.
My current project is a seriously old Volvo T22 tractor from around 1950 or so. Stood in a forest clearing close to a old school turned Norwegian vacation home. Havent run for 20 years or so. Got it running and emptied out some tasty chocolate from the gearbox earlier today. Little bit smaller though.

I would try to replace the bearings and seals in your rollers before they eat through the shafts and you have to make new shafts or buy new rollers. I made new shafts for an allis chalmers HD7 carrier roller and sent them off to be case hardened then i ground them to size. This was cheap to do compared to new. They look very similar to early allis chalmers design.

maybe some seal swell in the oil might help with the oil leaks, worth a try
