I must say I love the incorporation of screamo it's not much but it is super effective and shows how kpop are venturing into different styles and making it their own.
@@prettykitty39 I think ju young mentioned it pretty well in the video - screamo in Korean culture is looked down upon BC of the delinquent nature that listeners often have so parents don't like their kids listening to it. I think Ateez didn't want to do it in a full on manner so that kids in Korea could still listen without the band having a bad rep with older generations
jason seems like a very observant and introspective person. his comment on yunho and san's part in 12:27 was so accurate. that part always made me feel some sort of emotions i cant really explain whenever i listen to it and i love his explanation.
I love these reactions because they're SO informative and make me actually pay attention to different aspects of a song that I've already listened to a hundred times. Thank you!
*I'm glad u guys enjoyed guerilla specially the dance break part 😫 this song has been on repeat for me ever since it came out* 💙🔥 _ATEEZ ATE AND LEFT NO CRUMBS WITH THIS TRACK_ ✋️😏
Yes! I read that it was actually three or four pieces of songs they put together together. I usually am not a fan of autotune but this song is a textbook for how to use autotune effectively. I really love all the songs on this album.
I just have to laugh at the beginning where the one girl said, "Ateez make killer..." and the other was about to nod along like, "oh cool" and she finished with "ASMR" and the confusion struck hard 🤣🤣
I’ve been waiting for this reaction! When I first heard guerrilla, there were so many things that I noticed about it’s musicality that were mentioned in this video. Edenary know what they’re doing when they produce songs, they are always musically interesting. Always love the music analysis from you and your friends!
I am musically dumb but it's interesting to listen to people that know their shit, thanks for reacting to ATEEZ Guerrilla everyone, maybe I understand it a little bit better now
When I listen to whole kpop albums most of the time I'm left disappointed (obviously with exceptions), but this album, as a non Stan of the group, blew me away. Consistent and cured in all details, all of the songs are title track material: I don't hear filler songs, they're all coherent with the concept and the genre, they have strong hooks, they're accurately put together. The group and the producers really studied each song to be impactful
you hit the nail on the head. Ateez are a 4th gen powerhouse because of that. They're kpop at it''s peak : tasteful, carefully curated blend of genre with a consistent core concept without being over the top experimental or too gimmicky so they still retain a mainstream quality and stay cohesive with their discography. Idk how to explain it but as an old school kpop stan they remind me so much of 3rd gen kpop, like they're keeping that legacy alive and perfecting it meanwhile most new gen kpop groups are trying to align themselves with either sm's neo concepts or westernized bts (ik i'm generalizing). I always hear new gen kpop stans talk about how 4th gen boygroups are unremarkable but i thoroughly disagree simply bc groups like ateez and nct exist.
ateez never disappoint (as someone who's been an atiny since debut). it's kinda crazy bc most groups have some skips but im not lying when i say ateez have zero.
I have watched this channel on and off for years and have always enjoyed it! I became an Atiny in April of 2022 and Guerilla was my first comeback being an Atiny. It took me a hot minute to appreciate Guerilla because it was so different than anything Ateez had done before, but the more I listened the more I became to love this song. The whole album is fantastic, especially Sector One and Cyberpunk. I was a music major for a short period of time and so I love to hear people talk about Kpop from a classically trained stance. Love this channel, thank you for doing Ateez! ❤
Spread the content that ATEEZ is bringing to us, their public growning is getting fast after this comeback bc they are another lvl on kpop. Suggest songs and stuff bc they rr so talented. GREAT ANALISYS N VIDEO!
As a non musical person my favorite part abt the song is that it FITS the overthrowing the gvmnt scheme. It also makes me wanna FIGHT. I play it when I wanna have a kick-asses day it shoots my confidence through the roof
Thank you for another great reaction! Part of why I love ATEEZ music so much is all the musical detail and little unexpected quirks but I don't really have the vocabulary to describe it all, so I really appreciate videos like this that put words to my thoughts & feelings - from the chords in the chorus to the softer melody with Yunho and Jongho it was great to hear more technical explanations of these moments I loved, but couldn't quite explain why.
the first thing i said after watching the mv was “i can’t wait for classical musicians react”!!! did not disappoint + will sub to the patreon so i can see the full uncut reactions!! thank you so much 😭
Loved this reaction! If y’all liked Guerrilla, I HIGHLY recommend listening to the full The World Part 1 Movement album. It is probably one of the greatest kpop albums I’ve heard in YEARS. The first time I listened to it I felt like I was ascending into heaven. It is INCREDIBLE.
2 things that I super proud of Ateez when non Atiny watching them: 1. Their strong stage presence, complete perfect movement and expression 2. Jonho’s vocal.
Hot Topic!! I laughed so hard. But totally felt that statement. It’s so true!! 😂😂 This song was so different yet so ATEEZ. And they consistently do this. The whole album is spectacular and different and epic!! Do you guys react to all the song from the albums on your patreon?
guerilla is insane tbh (in the best way). gives me the vibes of that one operatic kingdom performance where u think shit can't get any crazier and then ateez take us to the stratosphere. the turn to screamo/hardcore aesthetics makes so much sense for a group that lives at 100 all the time lmfaooo. tl;dr: when umu said, "take my soul," i FELT that!
So much going on harmonically in this song that it literally made me attempt a harmonic analysis for the first time since graduating with my degree two years ago 😂 Only for ATEEZ
There are only two things in this world that get me hyped...when SHINee announces a SHINee World concert and when ReacttotheK finally reacts to a MV I've been waiting for 😂😂😂
That def. deserve a follow. ATEEZ can atract anyone to their songg and respect each style. And the fact you guys explain the musical terms used, thank you.
I loved this reaction so much. The song is great and so many funny moments from the reactors. Props to whoever edited this also. cant wait for the girls reaction!
I love your reaction. The only reaction channel that I look forward to. Because you guys are genuine with everything that you saw. I'm so happy with this
I always love you guys. Because when I listen, I listen to the words and melody but I don’t break apart the time, the notes, the instruments, you all point things out and I’m like “oh wow, yeah, that instrument IS there.” Like, most peoples’ ears only hear so much, but you guys pick up everything.
It is SO nice to see an Ateez song picked apart and looked at from a classical standpoint aaaaaaaaaaaaaa. As a classical musician myself I kept saying these things and started noticing the genius behind the chords and tension build but no one knew what I'm talking about 😄This was great to watch!
I love hearing the musical theory stuff behind songs like this! If you get a chance, I'd be really interested in your reactions/takes on Cyberpunk from the same album, because it's very satisfying to listen to and I'd like to know why (or at least learn some things about the music).
This new album is such a breath of fresh air in pop in general. Ateez took the risk and it really paid off. Ali is every Spanish speaker ever trying to pronounce things. 😆 It's quite funny when English speakers are bewildered of how we would pronounce some things, when in fact the last thing Ali said is how it logically should be pronounced like if we read the name when it's written in the latin alphabet.
i love how you included the little visuals to help explain your points and broke down your video into sections! i avoided music theory at all costs but its become increasingly clear that i need to learn it land get those exams out of the way :// this makes it a bit more fun for me though aha so thank you! love this channel seriously
It's not everyday that listening to a piece of music makes me wanna go check out who was behind the scenes as well. So in my books, they did really amazing with this song and album. 💯
i love how everyone immediately recognizes ateez as the pirate guys. it shows how unique their concept and sound is, i've never seen anything like it in kpop. and ofc guerrilla was a 100% jongho's era!
I listened to this release and my first thought was wanting to see a reaction to it from this channel so when I found out it was going to happen I was SO PUMPED, and now I’m just sitting here all giggly because everyone likes it just as much as I did
Yooooo what banger editing??? The previous style(?) of editing wasn't bad but somehow this is more playful and fun? Slightly more meme worthy? LOL but yea a great reaction and breakdown as always! This song had to grow on me! I think first listen was pretty shallow and I wasn't able to fully hear every little detail so I'm glad that yall are semi-analyzing it!
I wonder if the Kingdom performance of Rhythm Ta was some kind of foreshadowing or that they adopted just the concept they used then for their new stuff.... The song is a banger.
Firstly thank you for doing this one. I was waiting for this one for so long. Now, the story you told behind this song about the strictland government is totally right. Only the fact you missed is that Ateez albums are a series. So basically it's a story continuation. Their Fever series according to the timeline happens first and in that series they basically meet their different dimension versions which are halateez, tried to help them coz strictland government actually exists in halateez dimension & halateez was rebelling them but got captured by them. So they asked ateez to take their place in haladimension. In the process ateez broke the Cromer, went back time in their dimension again found another Cromer traveled back to haladimension and permanently took the position of Halateez in haladimension. Treasure depicts mostly after taking this decision what physically and psychologically they went through. Now in the World series you see Ateez is rebelling the government as they took the position of halateez. And the old man was named Left Eye, he used to help halateez too and now helping ateez too. Through this mv you can see the normal people in that land are given a device on the ear so that they don't get any emotion & only listen to the government. Ateez made a device which if anyone puts the government device can be disabled but it can also give pain to some to whom the device doesn't suit. The kid at the end tried the device nothing happened to him & he was out from government restrictions but he gave the same device to his brother and it caused huge pain for his brother so the government captured his brother. So he basically came to ask help.
It’s be cool to see reactions of this song when sung live. Anytime I see fancams from tours here in the states literally gives off such a mega distorted harmony of a crowd yelling break the wall it’s such euphoric feeling.
UMU! Have you noticed on the scene with the flags which btw pretty sure it's a shot inspired by Woodkid Iron mv, that they are on top of speakers and pianos(at least they aren't destroying them!🙈) because they are fighting the government with music?! Since it was prohibited and music it's pure emotion! Even Mingi says it in his rap: Music is the weapon!! And I freaking love that so much how perfect is that🥺😭 They also teased this album theme (and other future songs) back in Kingdom when they used all performances to spoil their lore! Guerilla concretely was spoiled by Rythym Ta, everything was there! And they started it with The Awakening of Summer and ofc they came back in summer and it's all related to music :') Another spoiler was in Hongjoong Baverse collab vid last year where he reformed his shoes while showing us his own song and playlist, and one of them was Guerrilla Radio by Rage Against The Machine! The whole title says it all xD Even the same music genre! And probably his Numb cover was also made in that time making the album bc seems aligned with the story Another references and clues were the classical piece in the teaser or trailer where Hongjoong took his mask(there it had more impact with the classical music playing and then the screamo jumpscare when he takes it off!), and the speech at the beginning is the one said in the movie Equilibrium which also was in Rythym Ta beginning and is the inspiration of the MV. And Equilibrium and The Giver were inspired by 1984 (that is also very present in their lore and in the physical album aesthetic!) Fahrenheit and Blade Runner too, reminds of the rest of the album theme(specially Cyberpunk!) Also the reference with the buildings background and guerilla spelled that was like the cover or an old iconic dystopian movie! And finally a big inspiration for everything is the novels of Philp K Dick that at the same time where the inspiration of many famous movies that Ateez also touched in other MVs, like Inception, Matrix, Open your eyes, Blade Runner, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, etc.👀 Sorry if it's too much info to process xp And thank you so much for the reaction and information, as always I love it!!🥺💖
Wait I forgot to ask but have you listened to the album with Apple Music?Or Amazon Music I think it had too. Bc they did this album with Dolby Atmos and I'm sure will sound amazing there, wish I had an account! :')
You KNOW it’s good when Kevin likes it - he’s the toughest one to please! The ENTIRE album is a “standing O” as she said. 11/10. Can’t wait for the tour. I am going to D I E.

I must say I love the incorporation of screamo it's not much but it is super effective and shows how kpop are venturing into different styles and making it their own.
It also perfectly fit the song. They didn’t just shove some screamo in there to check off a box but used it in a musically sound way.
Because of the teasers I was expecting a bit more screamo, so I was a little disappointed, but still nice to see them branching out with styles.

Only real musicians can definitely agree that this song is beyond perfection. Glad they liked the song.
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS! Thank you for reacting to them, they srsly need more recognition
5:46 Jo Young ascended to heaven, guys. She'll meet the rest of the Atinys there probably
And I freaking love that so much how perfect is that🥺😭
They also teased this album theme (and other future songs) back in Kingdom when they used all performances to spoil their lore! Guerilla concretely was spoiled by Rythym Ta, everything was there! And they started it with The Awakening of Summer and ofc they came back in summer and it's all related to music :')
Another spoiler was in Hongjoong Baverse collab vid last year where he reformed his shoes while showing us his own song and playlist, and one of them was Guerrilla Radio by Rage Against The Machine! The whole title says it all xD Even the same music genre!
And probably his Numb cover was also made in that time making the album bc seems aligned with the story
Another references and clues were the classical piece in the teaser or trailer where Hongjoong took his mask(there it had more impact with the classical music playing and then the screamo jumpscare when he takes it off!), and the speech at the beginning is the one said in the movie Equilibrium which also was in Rythym Ta beginning and is the inspiration of the MV. And Equilibrium and The Giver were inspired by 1984 (that is also very present in their lore and in the physical album aesthetic!) Fahrenheit and Blade Runner too, reminds of the rest of the album theme(specially Cyberpunk!)
Also the reference with the buildings background and guerilla spelled that was like the cover or an old iconic dystopian movie!
And finally a big inspiration for everything is the novels of Philp K Dick that at the same time where the inspiration of many famous movies that Ateez also touched in other MVs, like Inception, Matrix, Open your eyes, Blade Runner, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, etc.👀
Sorry if it's too much info to process xp
And thank you so much for the reaction and information, as always I love it!!🥺💖
Wait I forgot to ask but have you listened to the album with Apple Music?Or Amazon Music I think it had too.
