14:42 it’s a reference to the 1927 film metropolis, the concept is based of the book “1984” by george orwell, there is also a theory that the scene where ateez is fighting is inspired by a painting called “liberty leading the people”, overall ateez’s concept is one of the coolest in kpop and i recommend watching the teasers for this mv because it’s honestly mindblowing how a kpop group can have such an deep storyline that continues to grow

Some of the concept also reminds me of the movie Equilibrium. The city is very grey, there is also a repeating voice of someone talking about human emotion and why it isn't good. I'm sure the creators of that movie were inspired by 1984.

The art you mentioned (with the word GUERILLA appearing in the back) is directly inspired by soviet graphic design that was used for propaganda back then. The typography used is a direct reference to that era. Great reaction.
The album is a bomb. I definitely feel an influence from the top metal bands like Deftones, SOAD and god damn it, the guitar in the background at the end sounds like a good Rammstein. The best comeback for people like me.

Understandable reaction, Ateez are the real deal, raw talent and hard work. They are growing with every comeback, and refining their sound. I love that they're not afraid to go outside the Kpop norm. Im not part of the Ateez fandom but this song is in my playlist of favorite tracks of all time (and i dont have a lot of songs there, i have a separate playlist for songs i like, this playlist is for the songs i LIKE LIKE)
Dude if you like Guerrilla you should listen to Ateez's entire album The World Ep 1: Movement. When I tell you ever song on there is a masterpiece I'm not exaggerating. One of the best albums I've heard in a very long time, no cap.
As a metal fan I was blown by how hard they went with this song IT’S INSANELY GOOOOOOD
they are the best 4th generation boy group, sing, dance and rap on another level. And their main vocalist is one of the best of all kpop.

Amazing thing is, one of the song's on this album, "Sector 1", they've had it ready since they were promoting their song "Answer" which was back in January 2020! They were sitting on a song for 2.5 years before releasing it

I will try and make this as short as possible. Please remember all of this is info that will help u out with ATEEZ and their storyline.
First off there are 2 trailers that are about 3 to 4 minutes long. The trailer are more like a movie. And basically it takes place in what we believe is the future. And it seem that society as a whole is "controlled" through a series of pharses that everyone hears through ear wigs. They are also watching a large screen with a faceless figure that continues to repeat pharses like "When your right, we are right," or "Never question yourself" and "Never doubt Yourself." This is continuous. We don't know yet who may be doing this, but it may have something to do with the "White Giant" that appears in several of their videos, starting with "Answer."
When ATEEZ decides this can not continue, they do get help, but we don't know who he is quite yet, but he tells the guys that the world needs to "Wake Up." And that "they can't tell anyone what to think, cause that would make them no better than the powers that be." So at the end of the second trailer after ATEEZ messes with the recordings, which allow people to start looking around trying to figure out what is going on. The last thing you hear, isn't the same narrator but one of the guys, saying "DO Question Yourself."
So at the end of "Guerrilla," (which BTW is in regards to warfare, cause that is what is happening.) you see a young man coming out of a gate...he is the first to question...he is the first to doubt what is going on...I'm sure we will learn more about him as we go on...but this whole album is connected to their storyline.
And this is how good ATEEZ is, when they were on a show called "Road to Kingdom," they put clues for ATINY to see. And in one preformance, the judges "didn't like it." And why, cause it wasn't for the judges. It was for ATINY. And it was amazing.

just to provide you a short background of ateez's lore, it's centered around a world where the government prohibits anything that makes humans express emotion-art, music, dance, etc. because apparently "human emotion is a disease" and the aim is to make a world free of pain, sorrow, suffering. ateez here is against that bc emotions are what makes us humans and they are a group of individuals who are able to free the people's minds from the gov't controls through their music and dance. this mv shows them infiltrating strictland (gov't territory) and hacking into the system to make ppl hear their music and awaken them. (which is why there's a person at the end who was freed showing they were successful in their operation) the storyline is so much larger than that bc it's still not finished but that's basically it for this mv haha. also, their live stages are even more impressive and just watching them literally makes me so tired. i feel like i was the one performing lol.

The kid at the end is one of the members of that society who they have "woken up" with their music. In reality, he's a company trainee...it would be awesome if they slowly introduced their next boy group to us through ATEEZ. Obviously we were a lot of metal lovers waiting for this kind of sound in Kpop. Pink Fantasy did a good job with one of their songs (Poison was it ?) but I'm more into male voices and here ATEEZ put everything in another level. It's still KPop with the typical vocals so it creates something unique in the end.The whole album is nice, I hope they'll again do songs with this rock/metal/rap sound in the future.

And now you know (again). They're such amazing artists, and despite being from a smaller company it's clear they have their own direction, sound, attitude, plan. A lot of the scenes are inspired by different art and movies, as others have mentioned, but it also fits nicely into their group's storyline as [wait for it] time traveling space pirates, so especially the end bit is part of their ongoing lore. They really did change our world with this song. Who thought screamo would come out of kpop without alienating everyone!? Well, apparently EDEN and the rest of the ATEEZ production group. @@LC-dx2qt don't mean or stupid you know what i mean of course they're all different and they all got a various careerr some debut in 2013 like BTS some little ater like MONSTA and some are from the current gen SKZ and ATEEZ but they got the same quality song and all made they're own production and songs . but you can like some group more than some other . if you talk about success you're right they're not all in a same league but if we talk about talent and skills of course they're all in a same league .
BTS and MonstaX are actually good, but i disagree with Stray kids sorry!! Ateez have a far better vocal line than Skz and that's one of the best in k-pop, especially their main vocalist Jongho is by far the best vocalist in 4th gen and one of the best in k-pop. While, Skz is more of a rapper group, their singing is avg. Ateez is a well balanced group full of main dancers and excellent performers!

ATEEZ as a better vocal line but they lack a very solid rap line , they also got a very good dance line and they also can wrote they're songs . BTS and MONSTAX got only more experience than they're junior .to me wait 4 more years and SKZ and ATEEZ can be the next big thing .
