+Z. Owl Thank you! I finally gave in and bought the Jeff Loomis signature 7 string guitar with the hipshot bridge! it was about $1000 but COMPLETELY worth it! It's the best guitar I've EVER palyed!
Well then... I honestly think this works a lot better then the original Night of Fate. Not hating on Yoko's work, she's fucking brilliant, I'm just saying this has a better... Feel to it. It gives off a more dark, grasping feel.
Too bad this piece is too short but nice job! You made it intense and catchy! I don't know if you take requests but could you do Bustin' Up on the Beach? It would sound great with your style! Cheers man!
One day, I shall be able to slay guitar. For now though, I'm just gonna keep practicing, and just putting notes and tabs into a DAW ^^; Amazing cover btw. Lol, total crap thing to say but hopefully one day I can collab with you or RichaadEB, both of you are amazing artists
+Mr.250 For sure man! I've been playing for 6-ish years and I'm still getting better evey day! Keep at it and you'll go far! And that's exactly what I did until I felt comfortable playing guitar :) Perhaps someday :) I've never heard of RichaadEB, so I think I'll go look him up now!
+Brian Noel lol yep, Rich has some sick skills. For right now, I'm just trying my best to get used to alternate picking more. I'm, kinda going in self taught but at the same time I might get some guitar lessons. Learning by ear, actually isnt too hard, it's just playing every note lol. ONE DAY! I shall be granted the honor of adding drums to your covers XD Any tips for a beginner who's been playing for like, 2 months, and knows part of a song XD
For real! Alternate picking can be pretty difficult, but it's more important to do what's comfortable to you! I like to do down picks as frequently as I can, especially when I'm playing 8th notes 'cause it keeps my playing consistent, and then I'll play up strokes on every 2nd and 4th 16th note to kinda keep myself in the groove rhythmically, but leads I kinda do alternate picking for the shreddy parts, and then just whatever feels the most comfortable for the slower parts! And yeah learning by ear isn't too hard for most songs, but I started learning some Polyphia songs and those things are just about impossible haha and even if you can play them, if you watch the music videos, they tend to play things all weird haha Are those drums in your videos programmed? If they aren't, you've got some REALLY solid playing haha! If I ever need to outsource drum programming, I'll keep you in mind :) As for tips for playing guitar, I have quite a few, but I'll try and keep them brief: Metronome - "if it's not to a click, it's not practice..." literally! Metronomes will keep your timing tight, and help you develop a strong sense of rhythm! Record yourself - sometimes it's hard to know if you're doing something wrong, so record yourself, listen back, and be honest with yourself! If it doesn't sound the way you want, find out why! Play along to songs you know - this is about just as good as playing with a metronome, but also helps you develop musical phrasing! Keep your playing as consistent as possible - you want to be able to play things the same way twice without too much differences, which is especially important if you want to record! When you learn a song, try to learn all of the nuances, all the articulations, the exact pattern of vibrato, etc. - this will help you when you want to write your own parts so that you can sound expressive in any way that you want! Focus on being able to play cleanly, not fast - speed will come with time, and given enough time, you'll be able to learn fast parts very quickly, but it's more important to play clean than fast; professionals tend to articulate every note the play clearly and cleanly. Learn some music theory - it doesn't hurt to know what it is you're doing. Think of music theory less as a set of rules, and more of a way of identifying and explaining what you hear in a way that is easily understood by musicians. (for example, this song is in D natural minor, follows the chord progression D5, Bb Major / D, D Minor 7 Omit 3, and D Major 6 Omit 3 Omit 5, and the intervals of the background guitars are, in the scale of D natural minor: 2nd, 2nd, unison, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, unison, 2nd, etc. There's a sign where I teach that says "learning an instrument without learning music theory is like learning how to drive without knowing what the road signs mean" and I couldn't agree more! Don't lose hope! - Even the greats started out sounding "not-so-great" and they had to work to where they are now! Keep at it and set goals for yourself and you'll get where you want to go :)
Hey bro don't know if u remember me from your earlier vids but I'm glad to see your still going strong and pumping out these amazing covers!!

ProtoTag Shelo the drums and bass really bring in that dark feeling like something closing in on you and you have no other way out then to fight
