Printful is a third party print and ship company that you can connect with e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Etsy and Big Cartel.
How does printful work? You create the design and post them on your shop. Printful prints and ships them to your customer!

Hey Sara I am planning my first PoD dropshipping with Printful and Printify. I want to sell in North America & Europe from a remote location. I have one question. Do you think I need extra product visuals other than the mockups provided by both of these platforms
The vector effect on the leggings still looks 100% better than if you had left it as a bitmap and just enlarged it..... there's nothing worse than a pixelated image.
Ya def better than an enlarged image but still not good enough for me haha :)
Love the leggings. Was thinking of doing leggings but actually thought the white would come through more, so thank for that. I was also surprised at the quality of the image on the phone case👍🏻

I LOVE your alcohol artwork. It reminds me of that colorful shattered glass you see people do sometimes when they shatter the back of their iPhones that have glass on the back. I've wanted to do some kind of colorful shattered glass artwork but I have no idea how to even approach that because I'm definitely not going to shatter the back of my iPhone 8 and I have no idea how to get cracked glass like that LOL.

Sorry but I'm not using printful anymore as they have kinda crap customer service but I hope to try out another one.. even though it will probably be the same haha. If I do, I'll try yoga shorts.. they probably all use the same ones anyways!

What pillow fabric did you choose on Printful? I'm opening a new store with Pillow designs and prints. I was concerned before this video, due to the transparency of Printfuls pillows in other reviews, especially with a white background. Yours looks very opaque though. Also, what size was that pillow? Lastly, thanks for the great review. This really helped me bring Printful back into the fold.
They didn't have the two options when I purchased this so I'm going to assume it's the basic.
Mine is not transparent at all.. so I wonder if they've changed the fabric? And I think It's prob like 10" square but they didn't have size options either when I bought this one.
I like the "roll up" look as well at the bottom of the shirt; it makes for a more comfy look I would say
hi Sarah, thank you so much for this. What image size (in pixels) and dpi do you recommend for all over prints? Since it’s polyester i know the print quality will be different. i ordered an AOP t-shirt sample using printful’s template (using their guidelines) and the image quality looks terrible !

Have you tried printing a pattern on a black base for leggings yet? How did it turn out if so?
I didn't want to because I know how they would turn out and the black wouldn't be 100% black since it's over a white legging. You'd be able to see some white once they are on because they would be stretched.

I wonder if the file for the leggings is because of CYMK vs RGB (whatever settings u used). Or if the company uses pantone colors. that'll make a difference.
I went with the recommended out put which I think was CMYK. I doubt they use pantone.

Did u have to use vector images? What kind of resolution do u think is best for the clothingm
I used vector images but it's not necessary. If it's a high resolution png that would be fine too.

the pillow fabric looks a little chintzy. have you seen Printify's Faux Suede Pillow? it looks really nice.
Ya it is chintzy.. it's like a shiny polyester. I am actually considering placing an order with printify to try out so that would be a good product to try! thanks.
@@SarahTypes my pleasure. their interface is not as slick as Printful, but they have some products that Printful doesn't carry. i wouldn't use them for Tees, though - based on other reviewers. their canvas wraps look really nice, too. and they use CGPro Prints - you can see their commitment to quality if you go to their website.
Hey Sarah! Many sellers on the product page complained about the quality of the Iphone case. Can you tell how good are the cases long term since you probably have been using them for a few months.
I have used their cases myself and my biggest complaint is the printing does scratch off easily. I purchased the same design I made from casetify and it held out way better.

Hi Sarah! I am very new to designing. What platform do you use to create your designs so I can then upload them to Printful? I need a lot of help.
I use photoshop and illustrator, they are more professional softwares.. might be good to check out a skillshare class to get started with those! You can probably use Canva though which is free.

Sarah, how does a hands on painting translate through Illustrator?...i am presently reconfiguring and simplifying drawings as they become vectors which can then be sent to amazon merch....but i want an organic look...how is this done with Illustrator?...THANK YOU!!
honestly, vectorizing does change it a bit and it depends on the settings and the style of painting. It's best to just play around with it in illustrator and then do a test print!

I'm trying to wrap my head around how people make money doing print on demand. First of all, the "wholesale price" is higher than the average retail price you would pay at most stores. After you pay that you have to spend a ton of money to get traffic to your listings or store. That means you have to charge prices as if you were a high-end luxury brand or famous fashion designer? Also, Printful takes 2-7 days before they even fulfill and ship out the item, which means customers are waiting up to 2 weeks for their order when the industry standard is 2 or 3 days -- is this a viable business model?
I whole heartedly agree. The main reason I was trying these services were to 'try out' designs.. so I could see if they were popular and then would make them myself by screen printing and buying a bulk amount of shirts or whatever. These items take considerably longer for canadians than americans too! Every time I sold an item I'd ALWAYS get an email from my customer asking where it is because it was taking so long (the canadian orders don't come with tracking).

So how do the leggings feel? Do feel better than most brands out there?
uhmmmm they feel okay... they are very slick feeling (polyester) so not super soft like cotton. They are comfortable though just not aaamazing.
Sarah Types At max how much would you pay for these if you saw them in a store? Are they better Lululemon? Lol
Hey sarah nice videos I have I question for you hope you can help me, for the yoga pants and the phone case did you submit your artwork in RGB format or Cmyk I’ve been struggling a lot on this, Printful advise to upload all the files on rgb but normally all the printing is done on cmyk so I don’t get It, they sent me to a some sort of blog about this on their website but it says that Cmyk is recommended for printing but all the videos from printful advise to use rgb so now I’m confused hope you can help me :)
Hmmm.. I didn't know they recommended that. I worked in CMYK for all my designs. They were not really bang on as far as colour but close enough that to my the colour was fine
its not bad tho it looks like you meant to do that to most i can tell because i am an artist

You probably need a higher resolution image. If you don't have this the print quality will be poor so they don't even allow low res images.
I want to design printful totebags what prigram would you suggest to design? Canva?
I use illustrator and photoshop but for a newbie, Canva will work!

How much % do you get if you sell 1 shirt ?
It depends on how much you sell it for. The percentage of markup for each item is different for me. You can mark it up 50% or 100% if you think that make sense! It's totally up to you.

I am an artist so i design my leggings with them. i will never order the bags you have to build the bag yourself the leggings are very thick. they are well made-to-order
what do you mean by build bag yourself?
I see that your video is 1 year old but I think the problem you have with the colours is because of the colour "sceam" they have..
