compressed air is INSANELY inefficient. Compressing air heats it up. That heat is LOST and cannot be recovered, Ever.

The only way this might work, is like the nitrogen compressors we used in the service. A truck sized unit stored liquid nitrogen, that is vaporized resulting in low pressure. The low pressure nitrogen powered a high pressure pump, providing nitrogen with pressure of 3500 psi. The high pressure nitrogen might power a small air engine. The only advantage was liquid nitrogen was cheap.
GM wasting money on ANOTHER stupid investment? Who would have predicted that! Compressed air is completely bogus. Very limited range and extremely dangerous super high pressure tanks that take up a lot of space. This BS video shows a complete lack of understanding of basic physics.
That's why education is so important...
GM is doing nothing of the kind. This is all lies and stupidity.
Maybe for initial starting and stopping it can improve performance but it is something that can wear out and it adds weight.I assume breaking will transform into stored energy and maybe idling in traffic can be used when moving again, but it might just increase city mpg.
Nothing like a fool,we are running out fossil fuels, and how about the climate.
It's going to suck to be an automotive manufacturer. Even if they came out with a breakthrough technology today, which they haven't, because of this EV debacle, no one is going to trust it.

The Air must be compressed, generally by Compressors that are powered by Electricity. 68.9% of all Electricity is produced by oil and Gas. OOPS. Where is the environmental help?
