Finally someone who can teach something in an extensive and clear fashion! Plus I love seeing the notation as well. I’ve learned more about violin music notation watching your hand and finger placement along with the notation than I have reading books. Thank you so so much.

The good thing about your tutorial is you always tell the key points and identify the common errors. Thank you for your generosity and wish Classic music have more fans than pop music

This is REALLY helpful. I haven't played in many years and am just now starting over. My teacher passed away many years ago and I just couldn't pick up the instrument after. This has been a "Bucket List" item for very long time.
Watching your fingers on the fingerboard and seeing the notes may be the one of the most valuable things I've seen, as it somehow brings back memories of reading notes, spacing, and bow work.

Hello Beth, I have followed you since the beginning. Violin for me is a side instrument as my principle is flute. I'm now a flute major in college and I would like to thank you for cultivating the invaluable gift of the violin. this has benefited me in every way as a person, and it I such an honor to learn from someone who is so dedicated to making a musical impact on the world. God bless you.

Hi Beth, I'm a rock drummer learning metal guitar.. the word here is trying to play a violin... and running a business... I get up at 5.00 am to practice and loving it .You inspired me to play and to learn more about violins, To me a violin is the pinnacle of a instrument, who said your too old to start , the more you try the more you get out of life . Thank you for all your effort and time dedication and commitment .

I saw this earlier and I too very much like your approach and the details of the piece and of how to handle the challenges. I liked what you did so much that I subscribed to the reading music part of your classes.
And then I got a phone call. My dearest friend of a lifetime called to tell me she has stage IV cancer. Then her companion of four legs passed and she is stricken with grief and loneliness and loss. I know exactly how she feels. Then she asked if I'd please come to her funeral, 500 miles from where I live. I have no idea how I 'm going to manage this...but somehow I'll find a way.
It's been years since I've played but the thought occurs that the only way I can maintain any kind of composure is to play at her service. I may not have time, to rebuild my skills and master the task...but one can hope.
I very much like Samuel Barber's Adagio, but it's not a solo piece. I can't think of anything else but this for that awful occasion.

Love all the detail you put in your videos, and how supportive you are of people finding their own phrasing, "as long as you have the conviction, it works!" : ) This video made my day and now I will have to go practice very soon!

oh my... I'm just a 6 month violin player that desired to play schindler's list. I hardly start learning about positions and when I see your tutorial it made me realize how deep is position shiftings ( it depends even if I'm playing a romantic and all ). I think I shouldn't hope to play it properly for a couple of years. Thanks a lot for open up my horizon. It is a great tutorial. Thanks a lot for being that clear on explanations.

Thank you so much for your insights into this piece. You make it look so easy! I've been working on this piece for a couple of months & still dont feel confident with my shifts & intonation.I'm basically self taught & played professionally jazz, bluegrass,&celtic fiddle.styles & developed some bad bowing habits. My main problem is tightening up and not being relaxed when I play.Plus ,at 65 years, old I suffer from degerative dics in my neck which cause lots of pain. But thanks so much for all your advice.I think your the best teacher on U-Tub!.Best Wishes,Dan.

My great grandfather was brought here as a political prisoner during WWI, along with Zimmerman, Von Poppen, and Luther Wartz.... they were involved with the Mexican Rev. I have military and Court docs.
After seeing Schindlers list, I loved this theme ... I play some Italian on Flute, Sea Shanti On concertina and Violin , and hopefully I can learn this theme.

    Also.....@ 21:42 , 3rd bar 2nd note....there is an 'A" on the sheet music and you play a "G".
