    As many Chinese children, I studied English since middle school. I have read books about America history and watched many American movies and tv series. I think I know a lot of things about America. However, this video let me know that there are a lot of things I could to learn about American cultures. In these 10 American cultures, I just know the meaning of “the fourth “! For me there is so much fun to learn English and American cultures in the same time. This video is great, you knocked it outta the park!

    I didn't know exactly what American culture was like, but after watching this fun Vanessa's video, I could encounter many unique things that only happen in the United States which has a very engaging, stereotypical and wonderful society. I love the country, I will have to speak English the whole time. I have a few Spanish-speaking relatives living in the US but that wouldn't mean any troubles when it comes to entirely interacting with people in English. You mean the world to me, Vanessa, thank you so much for giving me those amazing stuff about American culture. ❤

    Hi Vanessa! This is a great video but as an American and a diehard baseball fan I wanted to let you know that Take Me Out To The Ballgame is actually played during the 7th inning stretch (in between the top and bottom of the 7th inning when all the fans stand and stretch and sing together). So that’s another wrinkle to throw into all of the baseball culture! There are also so many other baseball expressions used in everyday conversations by Americans.

      I remember been 14 years old (since 2019), where my Principal ma'am introduced an interesting activity. It was an English vocabulary skill, every day during the assembly in school, a student comes in stage and begins with, " new word of the day". But, what's next part makes struck is that the pupil asks the question " raise your hand if anyone knew the word said last day...."
      And I raised my hand proudly, said the word "austere" meaning strict in front of the stage and everyone cheered out loud. The Principal ma'am had given me a small gift for free too...!!!
      Oh my word that was the moment I had knocked it outta the park!!!

    Hi Vanessa, how are you doin' ?.
    - I know about ;
    - The independence day stuff.
    - The Benjamin Franklin stuff.
    - The word "buck".
    - The expression "I plead the fifth".
    - The senior, freshman, sophomore, and junior stuff.
    But I didn't know about the rest of the things, even though I lived in the USA for almost ten (10 ) years.
    - I used to do nothing important on July the fourth when I lived in the USA, I just would go out or stay in my apartment and watch TV, that's all. By the way, thanks a lot for this video lesson Vanessa I learned something new.

      @Manisha Kumari I hope you don't get upset but the correct expression is ;
      - ¡ What a long comment !.
      - you use "how" in expression that have an adjective ; example ;
      - ¡ How beautiful she is !.

    • @fredylopez2477
      @fredylopez2477 3 роки тому

      @Manisha Kumari You're very welcome pal. Thanks for not getting upset, you prove to be a smart and mature person so I'll tell you something else ; the correct expression is ;
      - " thanks FOR TELLING me about this."
      - when you use a preposition, the next verb has to be a GERUND, (ING form).
      - in this case "FOR" is a preposition.

    Thank you, Vanessa! Fantastic lesson! There were rather many expressions and things about the US I didn't know before. I learned some funny and also useful expressions this time like "Benjamin", "more bang for your money" and "knock it out of the park".

      Alright boss, I'm an American and I wanna clarify I don't think many people refer to a 100 dollar bill as a Benjamin. Maybe in some other places but on the East Coast we just call it like we see it, a 100 dollar bill, or 100 bucks.
