    Being an introvert in America is a challenge, strangers just walk up to me and say “hello”, “ hi” , “what’s up” etc. In my head I’m thinking “ please get away “. Didn’t have to worry about this in Japan. 😜

      Hey, speaking as an American, we love you! I love talking to people who are from a different place originally! People who are form different countries make the United States fun and culturally diverse. Some Americans, especially in the city( I'm from Washington D.C.) may be kind of rude, but that isn't everyone! We love seeing differences, we love seeing someone who is new, we love welcoming them to our country. Anyone who may see this, please don't shy away from the US! For someone like me, we love having people here, no matter what their nationality is. Americans are very nice, please don't be afraid of us. (I'm in Northern Virginia if anyone needs a tour of Washington DC!

    From SE Asia here. True about the portion sizes. We also get our food to go, but we tell the server we want it for "takeout". Strangers smiling at you or striking up a conversation out of nowhere is generally viewed with suspicion. We don't talk to you unless we know you from school, work, friends, family, etc. We have prom but it's a weird formal version of it, at least in Catholic school (your class is paired with another class at random). We have yearbooks, too. Also, your voice is so clear and calm.

    The fact that the tax is not included is amazing, believe me! Here in Brazil, we pay 35%, sometimes 60% of taxes and we don't even know!! We get that info in the receipt only after paying for the product.

    >we get two weeks of paid vacation a year
    Actually, by law we get 0 paid vacations. It's honestly dependent on your employer. If you have a decent job that usually requires an education or some form of training, you will on average get 2 weeks of vacation. However, this is not the case for majority of working class people in America. If you work in a lower wage job, you will get 0 paid time off for anything. No paid holiday, sick days, or nothing. If you happen to work full time in a lower wage job, you can get paid time off, but it accrues after a certain amount of time that you've been there. I worked at the international dulles airport near the DC and I would have to work around 5-15 years with the same company making $11 a hour just to have some paid time off. For a lot of people it isn't even worth it to stick around to reap the benefits.

    I like being American and I'm comfortable with my area's norms. I do wish portion sizes were smaller, taxes were more transparent, commercials wouldn't target children and we were a little more tolerant of the beliefs of others. But I like my yearbook, LOVE my Amazon Prime and Instacart and plenty of alone time and personal space 👍

    Unless we're going to college or the military, we should stop #12. The later you leave, the more money you should theoretically have saved up so the further ahead you begin which gives you a better chance at success.
    I think #14 is a recent thing or in certain areas. I don't know anyone like that and I've been around the country. I never thought about #18; that's probably why I know the entire "Big Red" jingle. Good news on #20: the IRS made their own software which is free and easier to use. Good video!

    Generally politeness & Convenience to Americans is something very normal & very important to American. Their is a common saying American saying (work smarter not harder.) Gifts giving and receiving to American can be given in so many different ways & mean so many different things.A gift can be Offensive to a American. We’re very individually dependent So majority of us feel very comfortable in using the word NO in any situation we feel is necessary. Not very many Americans will turn down a gift but it’s not uncommon and it does happen. As in another place it could be very insulting not excepting someone else’s gift or it could be I’ll turn down a gift in American but it’s not uncommon for Americans to do so. In other words in other countries gift giving can be very detrimental rather giving or receiving. it could be very frowned upon or very insulting or even be jeopardizing to your family and to yourself if you didn’t except a gift in that country. depending on who it is & what the gift is & the situation. American love to Celebrate any reason to Celebrate we love parties and gatherings, conventions & fairs in so many different groups or Events taking place in America like several at a time in every state even. you know Americans love to celebrate.

      turned to metric system, the rest stayed with the British Imperial System.

    • @witzelasper2821
      @witzelasper2821 3 роки тому +1

      Yes there are other colors of cups and we do use both the metric and imperial systems. Most measured items have both systems printed on the package. We learned the systems in grade school and you had to be able to convert from system to system in your head. We weren't allowed to use calculators. In those days teachers and parents expected you to learn stuff. My car also has both systems.

I looked at the food they bought and told them exactly what some of their issue was they didn't like it but they knew it was the truth. I'm not going to

The US is very Advanced in technology Which could be a good thing or a bad thing. Technology is Something always being created in add it to our traditions. That’s the one thing that changes to generation to generation is the technology that we constantly keep Introducing it and adding to our culture our tradition as Americans that’s normal.

    America IS “part” of the world but not THE WORLD. We have a culture and way of doing things that make America AMERICA. And, just like other countries will not/have no intention of changing their culture, traditions, rules and/or regulations to suit us, neither should we change our ways to “fit in” or suit them. America has/have her faults, LIKE EVERY OTHER COUNTRY, but there is no place like America. You do NOT see ppl trying to beat a path to any other country as ppl want to LIVE IN AMERICA. GOD bless America, land that I love.
    ( PS: This comment may seem a little rough and as though I am criticizing others countries; If so, I apologize. I guess I am trying to say that THERE IS JUST NO PLACE LIKE AMERICA and I am proud to be an American...even with all our habits, unusual traditions & faults).

    • @misstuxbrandi
      @misstuxbrandi 3 роки тому +4

      No. It's just seen as very rude or disrespectful. Americans will purposely not tip to show you that they do not approve of how you did your job. If you're nasty to your customer in America, big chance not only will they not tip but they will complain and get their meal for free. America is big on "customer service" which can be unfortunate because the server is not allowed to have a human issue in the customers eyes. Older generations will tell you you shouldn't have come to work if you couldn't do your job correctly.🙄 So...if your dad dies...don't go to work unless you can act as if everything is butterflies and roses.

    18:55 Trick or treating- Americans LOVE Halloween (October 31) and spend a lot of money on treats, costumes and decorations. Trick or treating is for children only. After about 14 or 15 years old it is not ok unless you’re escorting a small child. But don’t worry...as a young adult you can still dress up. Many people host costume parties at their homes...usually alcohol is involved. It is common to bring your own alcohol to these house parties. (You might even drink from a Red Solo cup). Adults young and old often dress up on Halloween and go to work in a costume. Ask coworkers the week before the holiday if others are going to wear a costume. Americans LOVE Halloween. It is a chance to be a kid again and silly for a day.
    I had a friend come to the US in the Fall and he was REALLY excited to “trick or treat” only to find out it was for children only. He was super “bummed out”. ( sad/disappointed).

    Let’s talk about American smiles😊. Why would you smile at someone when it’s actually not genuine. Everybody is different but most of the time,those smile looks more like a formality.

    If they "love" their space granted and demand people to keep a distance from them, what's the point of smiling at people? That makes no sense to me.

    "American Fever" might still be an issue for us, even at this much later date- it was in a great rush, hot-headed or choleric, to have a new country. As long as the names America and U.S.A. are retained, unwisely, the people will often (I think) have a slight touch of cholera, or fever- and that's not all. To understand- and best apply- the true Name of the land, Nova Scotia or Alba Nuadh- this idea is very remedial. Being neutral or indifferent in retrospective support of a revolution, possibly is very good; best however would be to understand the full truth, which during that Age of Anti-Christ (or, best for us to say, Pre-Avatar Age) was hardly understood. Those "Sons of Liberty" were Sons of Perdition, who were released from that consignment, for a birth. Rather characteristically (for perdition), they made a decision to murder in order to get gain of an entire continent; the full account is not known, how it began with G. Washington as a sly rooftop sniper in Lexington, Rewecixu, methodically taking out British teenage soldiers with a powerful rifle. Unbelievable atrocities were committed by the revolutionaries, false prophets of a Name for which there was no portent. Such exaggerated indulging is typical of Sons of Perdition, especially- raping, murdering then cannibalizing the teenage soldiers. Cursed with an odiousness, they found it too hard to have social or fortune success in Europe. Those who bore the tribal marking, U.S.A. generally had some curse; one of the deities who cursed was Ruhefezed (formerly) Anu, known as The Head One Of The Gods. A "mark of the Beast" in this context could be interpreted as a blockage characteristic of the American Root or Revolution Miasm, in the 8th chakra, called the Nerthus Center; @Celandine Lok; in the eastern, Sat Desh is a term which means the same; Archetypically, Quandary and Qualms is its name... Qualms about closely identifying with any of the Actual human tribes, much less, countries, under an Illusory Name, American, very characteristic. Best to understand now, the patriarchal attribution of the land became fully Celtic, with the Removal of the Frisian or English such from the planet; forsake Anglicisation- fastidiously might be best...

    I don't use Amazon. I don't even have bank card. There's no point to it. I don't need to spend money on stuff I don't need to have in the first place. The United States has a huge issue with consumer overspending. They buy a crapload of stuff they don't need. Six months later you'll see it at a garage sale or in thrift store because they got tired of it. So when an emergency happens like the furnace goes out or water heater or your kid needs new glasses or the car needs new tires suddenly there's no money but by God you got that latest piece of furniture or smart tv or whatever.
