Born and raised in the U.S. and I think it's important to note the different regions of the U.S. In my experience the east coast population lives at a faster pace than the west coast. In the west they're a lot more relaxed IMO. (I'm from the west so I could be bias) Spanish is a strong second language (specifically the southwestern U.S., and south). So those familiar with the language might find comfort knowing that. But I agree to your point that english is very important. I still come across people who complain about spanish because "This is America! You need to speak english!" 🙄 We DO smile a lot and say hello to strangers on the street. It's actually quite annoying but I still do it. XD Americans love to EAT! All you can eat buffets. Loads of fast food. Food everywhere! Racism is still present especially in the south and in smaller towns in the midwest. I'm a minority and experience this first hand. If you love the outdoors I really recommend visiting the western states as opposed to the east coast. The east is way too populated and the west has so many national and state parks!! Please be respectful of the land so it can continue to be enjoyed!
Vanessa, even though life doesn't happen as a movie, which means living either in USA, Canada or wherever you want it, you make us, your students, forget about these difficulties, and dream about a better life through the new horizons created by the English Language. Seeing such a Loving smile like yours there's no price.
My brother and his family migrated to Florida ten years ago. My niece married to American Puerto Rican, and she was before her parents. I've there two times with my husband. They are living in Orlando Florida, so I visited the famous Disney park, and I enjoyed a lot , I loved the weather, we were there during Christmas, so it's funny that we are in the poolside of the hotel, celebrating Christmas and New Year. While here in Belgium snowing and freezing. So that was my experienced.

Hello from the United States! I live in California. My tip is do not spend much time in Los Angeles. I live near LA and I love it. But it is not the place you see in movies. Traffic is really bad and everything is far away, so you will spend a lot of your time stuck in traffic. Finding parking is stressful and expensive. If you have a lot of time, LA is a wonderful place. But if you only have a week to see California, don't spend more than one day in LA, two tops. Instead, go to San Francisco (fun city), or Orange County (Disneyland and beautiful beaches), or San Diego (fun city with beautiful beaches), or Yosemite (beautiful mountains). I love LA, but if you only have a few days they would be better spent elsewhere.

@@themjway2087 Actually being admitted to the hospital, yes, it's going to be that bad. It was $2600 per day plus drugs and procedures for my daughter's birth. Visiting a clinic like Vanessa mentions was under $200 to be tested and given medicine for a strep infection.
One thing I noticed for America is that treating people with respect is what generally helps in the eyes of the people here. While some other cultures may try to be polite and not to be offensive or aggressive, there isn’t many an American I’ve known who takes well to a rude tourist. From California.
I visited USA this year in February. I had been to Las Vegas, Williams in Arizona and Grand Canyon. It was a great experience. I enjoyed a lot. USA is a beautiful country. Regards from Brazil
All those Vanessa's tips are super helpful for visiting the United States 🇺🇸❤, and I would love to go to the country. She's always been so kind, professional, and charming in teaching English. I'm from Peru and I've never been outside of it because I have no money, enough time, or a travel itinerary for now but I feel like moving to America just for the sake of having family members living there. My aunt, her husband, and children (my cousins) have been living in the US for over two years now, and, as far as I know, they're all doing great, working/studying hard, and living their lives in a new country. They live in the state of Ohio, somewhere close to the US-Canada border, in a freezing area just to let you know, although not at all. As for me, when I get traveling to and within the US, I would also love to visit as many states as I can, including yours, Vanessa 🥰. Thanks so much for bringing all your entertaining, engaging, and beautiful English lessons to me.
Visit us is my dream so far!! 😍😍😍 I can't wait I'm 35 now I'm in love us since I was 12 i really feel like my soul is American !! 😍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇲 I'm Italian!! 🇮🇹🥰😘
Youre videos have so much energy. Once I want ot visit an eventualy move to US Florida. Youre video helped me so much. Thanks. Sorry for potencial mistake. 😁
As an American, I can say that Vanessa is on point with these tips. One further recommendation: pay attention to signage regarding smoking. It varies from state to state, but in most of the U.S., smoking indoors in public places is increasingly banned. The predominant attitude towards smoking now is fairly negative. Even in outdoor settings, you would do well to stay away from others when you smoke, as many people consider it inconsiderate to light up without at least asking if it is OK. And even if you ask, you may actually get a polite but negative response.
Last year me, my husband and our two children, we visited California! Very glad to know that your roots are Italian... for this reason you’re so nice!!!!!! 😁
I've visited New York, Miami, Washington D.C. and Boston so far. :) We had a great time in the US! I really liked Boston! I think I like less crowded places now. I liked the friendly people there, and the overall atmosphere... Lots of things are very different in the US, but we enjoyed our stay and sightseeing. It was an amazing experience! ❤️ You're a wonderful teacher! Enthusiastic and devoted!
It is time for day school now. I have 10 minutes for the class. Hi,everyone. I think that Vanessa is a good teacher because she is professional with many kinds of teaching ways. I like this kind of teacher with real ability.
Thank you so much Vanessa for another interesting, funny and useful video. I’ve been living in Miami for almost 12 years but never had the opportunity to travel outside Florida. I’m studying for the Toefl test because I’m a foreign Pharmacist and your videos have help me tremendously. My vocabulary has improved; I got 27/30 on my last writing test. Speaking is holding me back, unfortunately. Keep doing your videos. Good luck
It depends of your priorities. My priority right now is passing the Toefl test. Because of that I’m not working. Besides, I’ve two children and my budget is very limited. I wish to travel more but unfortunately I can’t. I know people who have been living in the same town for several years and never traveled to know their city. I also know people who travel a lot. I honestly don’t know how they do it because in order to travel you have to combine money and work. As I said before, it depends on your priorities. I’ve traveled within the state of Florida several times, specially Disney World (7 times) with my family, but never out of the state.
@ Vanessa...Hiiiiii Vanessa. I`m from Germany Kaiserslauern I visit my Mom and my 2 Sisters after 30 years ago in Florida Palm Bay. Hi Vanessa ! I'm french and I made my dream come true 4 years ago by visiting the US (west coast). At that time, I thought that I had a pretty good level of English but I've felt finally really frustrated cauz I hardly understood anything... People were talking sooooo fast !!! Since few months, I've challenged myself to become really at ease with English (listening, speaking and writing) and I know I've made a lot of progress. And today I'm watching your video and just wanna go to US again to see if that's really true !! ah ah !! Thank you for your amazing videos!! Kiss from France
Thank you Vanessa for your videos, they are really very helpful! I was in the US only once and visited San Francisco, some places in Oregon State and went from Portland to Seattle by car. of course I liked cities, especially Seattle, but I was impressed with the beauty of nature more. The next time I'd like to visit national parks (to see Grand Canyon is my dream) and do a coast-to-coast drive across America (partly on the Route 66)! I also want to visit Hawaii and Alaska one day :)
I live in NY, and I have gone to the city several times. It is beautiful ,especially at night, it's an amazing sight, a lot of lights, it's like you're in another world👍👍
Time square tower is very famous on the world i've came couple time and have a lot the light banner in there turn on the whole day and night. I heard my wife told that. City is never sleep :)))
Good video presentation. Eventhough I do not know a lot about US, visiting the US is one of my dreams. I have met some of US citizen in another countries. They are relax, communicative, and fun. My top list destinations in the US are Niagara falls, New York, San Framsisco, Los Angeles, San Diego.
Hey !! Everyone here n then after that thank you so much Vanessa for giving such information by telling us that what we suppose to do before travelling to US right now I 'm completing my school from India but after completing my school I want to settle in US permanently so I'd definitely like to visit Florida I heard that its a nice place to visit n at last I would like to thank you !!!
I’m loving your channel, Vanessa! I’m about to go to Miami in a few days to start to work on a cruise ship, so thank you a lot for all your tips!!! Cheers 😬
Hi Vanessa, I’ve been in New York City 4 times, I love it, 3 times in Arkansas and once in California, I’d really like to visit Chicago, Philadelphia, L.A., San Francisco and Detroit. Thanks so much, your videos are pretty helpful. Greetings from Mexico City!
Hi Vanessa I visited the USA 3 years ago when I was 14 years old. I stayed in New york especifically in Time square, It was the best experience ever!! I would like to come back but in this time, I want to go to Miami.
Hey, Vanessa! Yeah, I would like to visit the USA! I would like to visit New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, California, Texas, Washington, Chicago, etc. your videos are helping me a lot. Thank you so much!
Your main skill is hand gestures and body language that’s why easy to understand.. that’s why many subscribers and increased rapidly. I really like your lessons.
Thanks Vanessa. This is very enlightening and instructive video. I visited Ameria more than 10 times but am still confused about tip. I am Korean and there is no culture of tip in Korea so it's always confusing about when to do and how much. Many Koreans still think that 10% of tip is standard in the US. Maybe it was standard a couple of decades ago.
Hi. I'm Cassia. I''m from Brasil and I'm trying to learn English, because I want to visit the EUA one day. I would be there now, If the situation had better . The quarentine , and the dollar make it hard for me, then I still can't go. Though I enjoy learning a little of this wonderful idiom. Thanks Vanessa!
I'm 16 now and I have planed before to come to Us later at 19 or something and this video is very important to me thank you alot 😅♥️ and yeah you look like 20 years or maybe Smaller than that 😄
Thanks very Vanessa, I have learn so many things about the US. And when i go there I will like to visit every single area in the US, and also make good impact on how to mingling with people.
I would definitely add "Air conditioning" to that list 😁. I've been to the US many times and I always make sure to have a jacket with me when I go to a restaurant or in a grocery store. The temperature can be very low and I'm not used to it. AC is not that common in France or at least not that cold 😁. I didn't know about "Medexpress". It's good to know even if $200 is still very expensive for us European. Thank you for all those tips Vanessa! 🙂
I visited the USA for the first time in 2018 in Easter, and I'm going to visit again this year for Christmas and the New Year's in the following days. The first time I went to New York and New Jersey. This time I'm going to go to Missouri. I'm super excited; I love that place!
Talking about transportation here is a tip. Last April, my daughter visited the U.S.. She landed in Denver and bought a van for $ 700.00. Then she drove all the way to San Diego, with a short stop in Tijuana, passing by Las Vegas. Than she drove all the coast of California up to Oregon where she was able to easely resell the van for $ 700.00 and flew back to Italy after three weeks travel. Cost of transportation just gasoline (wich is very inexpensive compared to Europe) and car insurance.
About alcohol, some years ago I ended up in Houston for a day with my wife and two daughters of less than 10 years old; we had hard time finding a restaurant because all of them where selling alcohol and did not let the two girls in. We ended up eating at McDonald's. I remember while living in San Francisco at the beginning of the '80, that you "could" drink on the street as long as the bottle of alcohol was inside a paper bag and not visible. Does this rule still apply?
I have never been to US.......But I would love to go there.....some of my friends are staying there.....your tips will be very useful for me when I will visit US
Hi Vanessa, thank you for your videos! I was in Texas and San Francisco, some years ago. I remembered that most of the people were friendly. I would like to visit the countryside, the small towns, talk with farmers and with the owner of a small warehouse.
I have been studying English on your channel since last week I really enjoyed your lessons every time Your smile and Enagy are cheer up me Thank you for nice advices I am a beginner but l think l could understand your English little by littele I have been to USA several times. It was almost 20 years ago. San Francisco, Guam, Walt Disney World, and Yosemite park. It was amazing, Everything is so big in America! At a bar l didn’t know that people checked out my ID.l was surprised. I want to visit USA Someday again Next time, l want to use airBnb and visit the Museum Parl Harbor in Hawaii.
You have great advice. As an American, I often arrange hosting of exchange students from many different countries here in the USA. Frequently, we hear that the students are surprised by how friendly and open the host communities are to them. And most of them add that a trip to visit a supermarket is an surprisingly fascinating event. I would think a word or two about the various accents they might encounter would be worth a minute or two in your video. Or perhaps a whole video on its own. And my opinion of one of the very best places to visit in the USA, I always say New Orleans. Keep up the good work.
To do all that in one trip would be exhausting even over a long period of time, unless you love car rides. We live in Oklahoma and have family in North Carolina. The trip there is 16 hours long without stopping to sleep. We don't normally have long vacation times here though so we can't really enjoy the drive. We have to go straight through, stay with family a few days then straight back for work. But I too would love to see those locations as well. I wish we could afford to take the time off.
I Obviously will go to US for my higher study in Chemistry.your lessons are helping me a lot to improve my English Communication Skills. Thanks you a lot from India
We visited L.A. I liked L.A.Zoo, Knott's berry farm, walk of fame , Hollywood sign, Universal Studios, Santa Monica, Redondo Beach, Sta.Barbara, everything was fantastic for me. I'd like to visit them again.
awesome video! however when you talk about aged people at 40 or 50 years old, you said they might be asked for the ID. Why? keep up the good work. thank you.
I would like to visit Philadelphia, New York, New Hampshire, San Fransisco, las Vegas...and after seeing your video, I felt a little comfortable visiting the US

Hi, I'm from Malaysia.. I will going to Phoenix, Az early July next few weeks for my 2nd business trip. Thank you Vanessa for sharing the tips 💖♥️
I visit the city of Orlando every year! It's very fun!
I'm so glad to hear that you had a great time in the US, Sladjana! 😊❤️
I didn't go somewhere else until yet. Because I'm a student of pharmacy. But I really want to go 😁🙄👽👽👽

Good luck
Is it common in the US to never have trravelled outside your state?
It depends of your priorities. My priority right now is passing the Toefl test. Because of that I’m not working. Besides, I’ve two children and my budget is very limited. I wish to travel more but unfortunately I can’t. I know people who have been living in the same town for several years and never traveled to know their city. I also know people who travel a lot. I honestly don’t know how they do it because in order to travel you have to combine money and work. As I said before, it depends on your priorities. I’ve traveled within the state of Florida several times, specially Disney World (7 times) with my family, but never out of the state.
@@vivian8811 I appreciate your reply...
Btw why is speaking holding you back? You write very well and your vocabulary is very good...
Very helpful video for foreign people to visit America! You are very thoughtful and care for your followers! Thank you Vanessa!🌷🌷

Hi Vanessa. Thank you so much for the amazing tips and the information about USA. by the way I love your voice.
Hi Vanessa?I'am from Congo,I really like your lessons, your are a good teacher in English.I can understand but a have a problem of talking.

Hi.
It's nice
Tell me What "AC" means
I visited the USA for the first time in 2018 in Easter, and I'm going to visit again this year for Christmas and the New Year's in the following days. The first time I went to New York and New Jersey. This time I'm going to go to Missouri. I'm super excited; I love that place!
I hope you enjoy your trip!

Wow, that's pretty lucky and sounds like a fantastic trip! 😊❤️
Yeah pretty much. People are shifting to putting alcohol in water bottles
Its just by law. Mostly you should stick to popular restaurants because they have accommodations for all ages.
I have never been to US.......But I would love to go there.....some of my friends are staying there.....your tips will be very useful for me when I will visit US
I am in Texas and I love it and I love your lessons. Moved from Russia.;)

Hi Vanessa, thank you for your videos! I was in Texas and San Francisco, some years ago. I remembered that most of the people were friendly. I would like to visit the countryside, the small towns, talk with farmers and with the owner of a small warehouse.

Thank you so much

You have great advice. As an American, I often arrange hosting of exchange students from many different countries here in the USA. Frequently, we hear that the students are surprised by how friendly and open the host communities are to them. And most of them add that a trip to visit a supermarket is an surprisingly fascinating event. I would think a word or two about the various accents they might encounter would be worth a minute or two in your video. Or perhaps a whole video on its own. And my opinion of one of the very best places to visit in the USA, I always say New Orleans. Keep up the good work.
Good to know, I got to know many surprising things I could never imagine of about the USA. Thanks 🤗❤
I'm so glad that you learned a lot from this video! 😊
Hi vanessa. I just love your vidéos . They make easy learning English and help me to improve much more my lestining and speaking. Many thanks 😊
The best airport in the word I have ever been to is incheon airport in Korea :)
Thank u Vanessa ...it’s good to start videos about US ..a lot of people need information
I would like to see the statue of liberty,Hollywood, deznyland and niagra waterfall 😍😍😍
First you do New York, Niagara falls, Disneyland, then Hollywood
To do all that in one trip would be exhausting even over a long period of time, unless you love car rides. We live in Oklahoma and have family in North Carolina. The trip there is 16 hours long without stopping to sleep. We don't normally have long vacation times here though so we can't really enjoy the drive. We have to go straight through, stay with family a few days then straight back for work. But I too would love to see those locations as well. I wish we could afford to take the time off.
visit the statue of liberty and niagra falls in one trip, go to hollywood and disneyland in another.
I Obviously will go to US for my higher study in Chemistry.your lessons are helping me a lot to improve my English Communication Skills. Thanks you a lot from India
Thank you a lot or thanks a lot *
When she started thinking about her age, I thought we must give a tip for that as well if someone tells us their age.
Why? keep up the good work. thank you.
It's just required by law in some areas
its in case the 15 year old is really tall and wearing make up to pretend to look old or something haha
