I don't think people really understand how hard it is to play the violin. You maybe thinking " Well she's dancing while she's playing, so it must not be that hard!" Well that is a VERY well talent! To be able to dance while play the violin that good is just mind blowing! She has been practicing for so so so so so so long.

Peter Misovic in videos like this she generally does it separately simply for ease of filming such a complex music video and sound capture otherwise the quality would not be the same however she started out and still does dancing while playing in fact she recently performed Shatter Me live on americas got talent
She plays while she films but its probably not as polished as when she plays live, they dub the CD version of the song over the video. Which is standard for the music industry. She said in past interviews it can be difficult jumping around and playing at the same time because she can't fake play and make it look real.

A quick message to all the people talking about the squatting and how it may be kinda sexual or not really part of dance. I just wanted to point out that if you've ever seen ballet or rythmic gymnastics, you'll know that the "squatting" is actually a dance move, called a "plié". This one is kinda different, and I understand that you may find it kind of sexual. I personally think it looks great and fits the overall picture of the song

I made the mistake of giving up my dreams, and now that I've realized what's important to me, I have to start all over again. Please, don't make the same mistake that I did. Don't give up on your dream just because you're afraid. I promise, it will all be worth it in the end. You will have to go through pain, and that's part of life. But without pain, there is no joy, and that's no way to live.
Lindsey is a prime example of this. When bad things happened to her, she found a way to go on with life. She found a way to continue helping other people with her life. I know that her music has helped me so, so much in turning around my life. Lindsey, if you are reading this, thank you for being an inspiration to me and so many others. The world needs more of the joy and energy that you bring.

Always with a violin and dancing, often in collaboration with other artists like Peter Hollens or the Piano Guys.

I played the viola almost 2 decades ago in middle school. I still have my viola in my closet. I take it out every so often to tune it. I haven't played in so long because I've been more into my art creations than music, but watching Lindsey has made me want to relearn how to play my viola. I'm serious when I say it's been nearly 2 decades. I played at ages 11 and 12 and I'm turning 30 this next May in 2020.

I love this!!! It's so unique. I especially love that in every single song she writes the instruments don't just mesh together, and you can hear them individually. My favorite part is the violin because it has its own unique voice in the song. Overall great job!

I actually cannot comprehend that some people are dissing her new album(while still claiming they love her) and how some are saying how sexual this video is. I agree with the fact that people can say and think whatever they wish, but I feel as if it is a bit weird how this video (which does not seem impure to me) conveys that she has seemed to have lost her beliefs. For me the video was wonderful and totally Lindsey. It wasn't until I got the honor of attending one of her concerts where I realized how over the top (in a wonderful way) and dramatically filled with dance (of different categories) her style is. This is actually such an accurate depiction of a mushroom trip. At first you see weird colors and augments on reality, then as you get deeper into the trip, the visuals and feelings get progressively more bizarre until you eventually experience ego death and get transported to another dimension. It's sooo fun.

Ok, hear me out. I swear that when I was around 8, I had a dream that was IDENTICAL to this music video. - I hadn't even seen Alice in wonderland, nor had I associated the dream with it, but par for par, and especially the aesthetic looks EXACTLY the same.

I've said it before and I will say it again. It doesn't matter how Lindsey dresses or dances, there will always be someone who has an issue with it. I myself am LDS and from what I understand of the scriptures it's not my or anyone else's place to render any sort of judgement on Lindsey or anyone else. People forget that like anyone else, Lindsey is a real person with feelings and these negative comments about how she chooses to dance or whatever else is extremely hurtful. She reads these comments. Now I ask you to think about a time in your own lives when someone commented on what you were wearing (and it wasn't a nice comment) and how it caused you to feel about yourself. Likely pretty bad. Now imagine you had several hundred people all doing this every day. How do you think you would feel?
So the next time you get it into your head to speak negatively to someone, stop and consider how you would feel if those words were directed at you.

So cool how the old school "weird" element of music videos is brought back with this. She really brought some real new stuff to the table with music. She plays an instrument, dances, and actually collaborates with other artists. Something most of these electro sorry DJs could never accomplish. She is an influence and has worked for what she's got. These kind of real artists need recognition. Instead, there is an abundance of these nerds with mac books making money claiming to be "musicians". It's sickening. I have been stunned more and more by each pairing Lindsey does. Now with her and ZZ Ward, two of my absolute favorites together. The only thing that even comes close is watching Robert De niro and Al Pacino staring in the same scene of a movie with Christopher Walken doing a cameo!! Oh my dear heart just exploded I think.

First off, I love the song, it is catchy and has a good message. I also think that you have every right to grow and change as you see fit.
That said, I have to agree with some of the others. This, and some previous videos are a tad more suggestive. Compared to the rest of the world it is quite tame, but this one is a bit more suggestive compared to most of your other videos.
I am not at all saying that I hated the video. I actually liked the Alice in Wonderland theme. It was quite fitting since Alice (Alex) chases the white rabbit. Similar to how a man typically "chases" after a woman.
Please don't feel bad about us showing some concern over some changes. We are not angry with you, nor do we have any right to judge your decisions. Follow your creativity where it leads you. Don't let anyone tell you what you must do. Doing your own thing has worked for you so far. :-)

i so agree with you. she has changed the entire concept of her music. what happened to the artist that came to save us all from commercial and plastic pseudo-artists? i can see she is one of them now. i understand this business is about following someone else's vision of yourself and your talent, but a part of your work must remain true; i cannot see her essence anymore.
