Thank you for the love & views, Icon Army! This is our first music video as an independent band, and we want you to know that your support means a whole freaking lot to us. Much love, IFH
even my dad likes this I go skateboarding I have not yet run into boys I wonder how thay are going to act around me I hope thay like me if not I will play this to them
+iconforhire Not meaning to criticise your choice in name for your group of fans, but wouldn't calling them 'Iconics' be a little nicer and more unique? Seems a lot of groups use the 'army' description and I guess I've just always disliked it. But in the end it's not about what we are called, but the appreciation of the music you produce and this one resonates due to its incredibly organic lyrics on an issue more often than not rammed down peoples throats when addressed. It's refreshing to see it be addressed (as of course it needs to be) in the right way. I look forward to seeing you guys live again someday. Hopefully headlining rather than supporting too!
"Hypersexualize or downplay your femininity. Dress like the dudes, or pray to God that you're pretty. Are you kidding me? And I don't even know who's to blame. Beauty sells, I buy it too, I'm trying to sell it back it you." MY FAVORITE LINE IN ANY SONG EVER!!
sadly my girl may she rest in peace in my eyes could not look so freaken hot. dress like a bum hot girly her self up hot. she was almost out of med school and all the doc there where like whos junk are you sucking like a woman couldnt be a doc. she would reply you wish it was you now learn something new boys. as she treats person with care not judging get what info she needs to determine tests that need to be done and a few hours to days depending on what test said and never had to retest for found the problem with fist wave of tests which was just there to agree with what she thought
alot of women are missing the point of this song, saying crap like "I'm not like other girls, I don't flaunt my ass." you're proving the point of the song actually. everyone's focused on what the girl is doing. Is she being 'slutty'? Is she dressing 'respectively'? Does she act like a man or is she nice and polite? don't think you're special because you like sweatshirts. don't think you're basic because you like skirts and jewelry. There are no guidelines with being a girl, just wear what you want and don't concern yourself with what other people wear. it doesn't matter. it doesn't. so don't let men think you have to be different, and that being a 'normal girl' is something to be ashamed of.
Spinny And yet you have also missed the point, nowhere in the song does it specifically mention men being the ones saying this stuff to women, it's not about a gender war, it's saying everyone is equal so you shouldn't "judge a book by its cover"
Please re-read original post because it focuses on what women were saying to women and only said men once at the end for something else. Also, not to be rude, but it is about gender. Completely. This song is about gender. the opening line is "What it's like to be a girl in the music world." Almost every line is about women. You kind of contradicted yourself too at the end basically saying it's not a gender war, it's about both genders being equal. Unless you meant gender war being something other than what I thought you meant. But if that's the case then, again, my original post wasn't about men either.
normal is a mathmatical concept that has infected society, and it's entirely unattainable. Normal for me is wildly off from normal for any other humanoid out there, and trying to define ones self by that standard is actually abnormal in every sense of the term. Normal girls simply don't exist- the paradox behind the concept ensures that it remains that way perpetually. Rather than striving for a false ideal that is simultaneously impossible and will ensure endless misery, go out and be yourself until it no longer feels like a daily battle.
Honestly they just wanted to try out a style not comparative their normal rock sound in which they were constricted to being on a label whereas now they are independent. I'm sure that factored into it somewhere but to think that the sole reason they made this song is for that reason alone is fairly cynical.
Just because they are trying new sounds and styles doesn't mean they have abandoned the other. They didn't change, they are just trying new things. I wish more people could understand that. Not saying that you have to like this song, I am just saying..respect their creativity.
I mean they haven't changed as people or sold out. Their songs are still inspirational and have good lyrical quality. Also, they have experimented with different sounds but they are planning to go back to their signature.
+Taylor Bricker Well I sure hope so.. Their lyrics still remain great and inspirational but the music alone just doesn't stand out the way their previous works did.. They're ok but I find some of their newer songs quite boring.. The lyrics are what keep me listening while I continue to patiently wait for their true ICONIC sound.
先生死の運び手 If an artist is going to do such a thing AT LEAST make it work! This new direction of theirs just ain't cutting it. The music sucks with the exception of the lyrics.
Leslie check out this new band, maybe you like it too. It's a similar style with a female singer PENUMBRA-Tormento(video)Cheers from Argentina. Let me know if you like it Leslie!
I honestly dont know why its not an even playingfield... I know fuck all about cars, But I work in a psychological field. I give no shit if someone tells me this or that if they know better... like man or woman it does not matter if you know your stuff Ill listen. Know some great women I went to school with when we were 16-17 they studied mechanics and honestly did great as they are still going 15 years later. Its hilarious how people think women/men cant do different roles
Family Force 5 and Rapture Ruckus have end credits in their videos, as does The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in the video for "Am I the Enemy". End credits to music videos are more common than you think. You'll just never see them in a video that's on VEVO, which pretty much dominates music videos on UA-cam.
"and while we’re on it, let me say women don’t all sound the same" that fucking line goes to every single one out there that says that every band fronted by a woman sounds like paramore. thank you.
ive been listening to paramore since they were nobodies on mtv, when mtv actually played music videos, and i have a special appreciation for female fronted bands, and icon for hire sounds nothing like paramore, maybe its cause im not an asshole and i actually listen i dont make that comparison, so in conclusion i agree with your statement
ICON does NOT sound like paramore but i got my head bit off for saying Anavae did...they do! and thats not a bad thing but you are right not EVERY female rocker sounds like them.
That was an awesome song... I was expecting more "rock" when I clicked on the link but wasn't disappointed, just surprised, cause the lyrical quality was still there.
Thank you Icon For Hire for making a song that states what I've been teaching my daughters and my son since they were little... be who you choose, don't conform to the world's ideals, and show them what you can do in spite of them. The mass media is horrible when it come to the image of a lady. I'm still deeply scarred by the way I was shaped into thinking my appearance is my most valuable asset, when I have so much more in me that makes me who I am. I'm always sickened to my core when I hear guys drooling over the way a female singer looks, they never even think about how they're judging her and not even considering the work she put into her talent or into the song.
But is it bad people want hot hot guys hot girls I don't get what people are talking about male privilege I'm not trying to me rude but if you can give me proof
Lmao the "I miss the old Icon For Hire" comments have already started. They won't hold their creativity back just because some small minded people are whining about the sound. Grow up, its their music, their experiments, their music taste, their life. So hard to understand? It shouldn't be. At least they haven't stuck with one boring sound. At least they can think outside the box. Unlike you all
+Horváth Gábor Well said. I was thinking that too as I read the comments. Icon is evolving as a band. Listen to the latest REL show... she experiments with different sounds and refines the music. Personally, this isn't my favorite Icon song but I still like it. I like the message. Not to worry, the old Icon isn't gone..
+Horváth Gábor While everything you've said is true, this song is awful in my opinion. Not a fan at all. What's up with the salty lyrics too? You realise Pop music is dominated by women right? As for Rock or Metal, literally no one cares if a band has a female vocalist. This song is garbage.
+Breadbin Massacre She might have deeper reasons to write this song, it's personal just like others.Women, in pop (especially) are getting judged by everyone if they got on the top. The song itself is surely different, it really doesn't belong anywhere in their Disco, but Ariel knows why she had to write and release it.
+Horváth Gábor Yeah, a month or so back I got to talk to them about it. They were totally cool about it too. I admitted to not liking the poppy synth beat on either this and Bam Bam Pop. The lyrics for them both are pretty on point for the chosen subject and I have no objection to that. They told me they were experimenting and I can totally respect that. Even if I don't enjoy this particular upcoming album if it's too poppy, I may likely enjoy the following album. It's like NIN for me, loved Pretty Hate Machine, Downward Spiral, and The Fragile, absolutely hated With Teeth, then Year Zero was ok and Hesitation Marks felt like a much better direction to me. Like I said, they were totally cool about my 'criticisms,' of course prior flattery probably helped there. Whether I enjoy this album or not will have no bearing on their past or future albums. I may just have to keep an eye on them for the next album instead of jamming out to them on this one. Either way, Shawn and Ariel are very awesome and open people. I won't dump the band completely for what *I, personally* don't like from one song or one album. That's just stupid.
Horváth Gábor And men aren't getting judged? I'm not a fan of Kanye West in the slightest, but have you seen how slated the guy is? In Metal, Metallica get hate and slate no matter what they do. Look at Justin Biber. He could end world hunger and people would still hate the guy. It's not even just the lyrical content I'm not fond of, musically this is probably the most generic piece of music I've heard in a while. It's a shame because I really enjoy this band. No idea what happened here.
I love this song so much! I'm a girl who's in a a lot of male dominated environments and this is so relatable. And im so glad this does bring "attention to something better left unmentioned" Huge fan of the story in the video and the costumes where so good! The little girls were so cute!!!
This song just makes me want to scream. I'm also done with being mentioned as "that girl who is interested in boys' stuff", when there is obviously non such a thing as "boys' stuff". First, i am a human. Second, I'll do whatever I want to. Third, why the hell my gender matters? People, just mind your own business and let me live as i like. Let women be women, let men be men, and let equality be. IFH, thank you for that super amazing and super important song!
Scratch that, let humans be humans. I'm a guy but there are something's like TV shows that I like that could be considered girly. For instance, I enjoy both Rambo and MLP very opposite sides of the spectrum.
This song is like hot damn! It's like bars and yet it's really catchy and has pretty good lyrics. I love and respect this band just like a lot of my other favorite bands :D I will always support you IFH
+REGISZILLA was kinda thinking the same thing. Song doesn't have much guitar parts so was curious how he'd handle it in the video. Dude still owned it tho.
OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I love that you guys used people of all colors and sizes (a lot of times people don't :/ ). And the video in general was just so good. I'm proud of you guys. Screw Tooth & Nail (; ♡
+Keori Katsumi It's their old label, that was pretty much trying to water down their lyrics and were telling them what they could and couldn't do with their music. They've since departed from the label and are now much happier on their own. :)
+Keori Katsumi Tooth & Nail was not only limiting them on what they could or couldn't say, they were also screwing them. They were not paying them, the white vinyl that the label released...the band had NO idea and were not told about it, and seen NONE of the money from it. The label was not helping them at all, and expected the band to pay THEM before they were gonna be allowed to record any more music or videos. That is why is had been so long since they made a video. So they wanted out for a while, and finally got out the middle of last year, and then recorded the EP right away, then did Warped tour, and now a new video, and have a new album coming pretty soon...so getting away from the label was the best thing for them.
This song is amazing. She actually points out issues without shame. She is who she is. She's not trying to be someone else. That's beautiful. I love her courage. It's inspired me to be myself, even if myself is a little weird and out there. I've gotta thank her for that. So thank you.
I'm in a small band with some my guy friends and I felt SO out of place just because I was a girl. But when I heard this song, it gave me SO much hope and motivation to try harder. THANK YOU IFH!!!!
Almost in tears because this is the first music video I dared to watch because they had a girl in their band. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a singer but I was scared of being a sex-toy, and I grew up struggling with my gender because of that. I just wanna sing my songs and have fun, thanks Icon for Hire, thanks all ya'll for standing up to this
"this isn't more metal" "wish this was more rock." rock and metal wouldn't fit the message. it's aimed at the pop culture and those rappers who believe and follow the trend of showing off more skin than necessary.
To be fair this song is the core of Metal, buck the trends and push boundaries Fight against the established order, it may not use the established chords and/or sound but the Metal Spirit is there
I'm not a hip-hop/rap kinda girl but I have loved IFH since Scripted came out. I'm a little disapointed this isn't more rock or metal but you know what? If they are gonna keep up this rappin and hip-hoppin thing, as long as it has meaningful lyrics, I'll buy it.
Am I the only one who loves all there songs no matter what genre they're in? Honestly I have them all and those who are debating on what genre fits them better, just keep calm and love those you love as long as they're deep meaning i honestly don't care.
I have forever been obsessed with this song since you first released it. This music video is incredible and I'm so happy you all are making the music you want to make! I'm sending this to practically everyone I know. I can't wait for more Icon For Hire in the future!
same here given I want to be a singer, she was my first girl crush, and I crushed on her after the audio came out, she is amazing in all of the ways a woman can be amazing. Icon For Hire is the first rock band with a girl singer that I ever liked.
***** All I said was that I couldn't believe some people didn't like the song. I've been over it boo. I'm not worried because they'll still make music. So.... Go somewhere.
IMHO this song is the core of Metal, buck the trends and push boundaries Fight against the established order, it may not use the established chords and/or sound but the Metal Spirit is there
+Gabriela Marramaque no I want human Shawn... I want to hug him... kiss him... and have his children.... I think I just crossed a fangirl line from fan... to psycho...
How the fuck does this have less than a million views? What the fuck. Not only is the message amazing but the video is kickass too. And the music is catchy as all hell. Goddammit, America. You need more of this in your music scene.
The problem here is not "catchiness" or the message, but a vast majority of folks (like myself), love the 'rock and roll' Icon for Hire. And although a HUGE percentage of music listeners, listen to a band because they have a particular sound. Which is exactly why I stopped listening to Paramore, while the band is amazing, I don't listen to pop because I don't care for it. And although Icon is exploring their creativity and expanding their audience, they WILL lose listeners who don't enjoy this type of music. For example, Jay-Z has millions and millions of fans, but I think he sucks balls. (that last sentence has nothing to do with any of this, I just like saying that "Jay-Z sucks balls"
Simply fantastic. As a father of a little girl who wants to be a singer when she grows up, I love this song and hope my daughter ends up with the mindset that she can be herself.
I love the message behind the music, I cant really get into rap music, but sure as hell can respect it. I've been an IFH fan for a while and I think its ballsy af and hard to go independent. Keep making awesome music but dont forget your roots!!
+Luna Shadow panda by definition, it's only kidnapping if it's by force and the child is taken and held unlawfully like for ransom. So, technically, they didn't kidnap her.
I love how you experiment with new sounds and ideas as time goes along rather than sticking to a formula. I mean sure, I am more rock oriented and maybe your old sound is better for me personally, but I love this song and I love that you are willing to take this risk to stick to your own ideals rather than try to please your loyal fanbase with the same kind of stuff. Keep being awesome! :)
i just recently found out about you guys, Make a Move was my first exposure, but everything is fire. Everything has an important message. Love you guys, Keep it up Ariel and Shawn
Ariel, I started supporing Icon because I graduated with Adam. But I am one of... Oh, my kiddo just walked in and started singing this song... Your biggest fans. Love you and Shawn! Icon!
+Akasha Seijouruu "Who cares? It's good music" Define good music, I think Melodic death metal and Thrash metal is good music but most people don't think that's good music. When people complain about her new music, it's because they don't like pop or electro pop. People have a right to complain about her new music because they started off as a hard rock band, so her rock fans won't like her new music because it's not rock. It's not something they like. So by saying "Who cares? It's good music" is retarded. Not everyone is going to think your taste or my taste in music is good. Her new music is so different that most rock fans won't like.
this song does make me kind of wonder what it's like in the music industry. I've seen a hand full of documenteries that basically say it's awful. kind of curriouse if that the general consesus from IFH as well?
Love it! Just another reason that REL is a hero to my MEL :) She was 4 when she found your music and at 9 still rocking to Icon for Hire! She currently rocks bright teal tips in her hair and her "punky girl" clothes. When people comment that her "Look" is "weird" she shoots back "I love how I look, love my style and I know that my mom loves it too. and the lead singer for an awesome band is my inspiration so back off!" Yeah so she uses Icon for Hire as her inspiration and to put playground bullies in their place! Rock on REL!
"boys in the crowd asking for me to flash them, well here you go, news flash: you're ignorant and that's that" WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS PART IT'S SO WITTY
+Elizabeth Peters Like, that's accpetable. But if a dude said Ariel looked as hot as ever we'd be pigs and only appreciate her for her body and not her music. As a man though, he can't complain about double standards, none of us can, thanks to third wave feminism.
+Nick Colley you don't seem to understand how statements made from positions of power can affect how those statements are perceived. What would you think if a teacher told one of his/her students that they were hot? How would your reaction change if it was the student that tells the teacher that they find him/her hot? It's the same deal here. For all our progress, men are still seen as the dominant gender. It's why an ugly man can sell himself based on his vocal chords or talents but and ugly woman is laughed off the stage. There needs to be a certain standard of appearance when you are an entertainer, but you can't deny the fact that the discrepancy with which those standards are applied across the gender spectrum is anything but progressive.
Send me a video of an ugly woman being laughed off the stage. The fact of the matter is that women claim they want equality but still want to be treated like little princesses too. You can't have it both ways. Your Third Wave Feminism ruins the workplace, creating environments where women are hired for their gender and not their minds or talents. Most of the gender discrepancies as far as societal standards go are placed by other women, not men. But ugly women need something to blame I guess. Go dye your armpit hair pink or something.
I may be the thousandth person to say this, but the video is for some reason out of sync. Yet it wasn't before. Also, love the song and video. something I felt truth in my whole life, and am happy to hear in music form.
Thank you for the love & views, Icon Army! This is our first music video as an independent band, and we want you to know that your support means a whole freaking lot to us. Much love, IFH
Hey you guys are great and I can wait to see you thrive with your own label and creative license, keep up the good work
even my dad likes this I go skateboarding I have not yet run into boys I wonder how thay are going to act around me I hope thay like me if not I will play this to them
+iconforhire Congrats
+jaime hamilton most guys will challenge you saying you can't do something then when you prove them wrong they will stand by you

I love how she just sounds like generally pissed because when people do stuff like this sometimes they sound like happy or monotone.
Nah, most of who plays ROCK is always with passion. Don´t know what your talking about. But apparently around 470 people knows and agree.

I love the smell of truth in the morning

Ya know, I have friends that are female and if they started following the "Norm" I would think something is seriously wrong!(Im a guy)
Not only men, there are enough women too, who are thinking the ignorant way, but the rest is just true🙇🏻♂️
This song isn't like their normal stuff, but that's exactly why I like it. I respect artists that are willing to try different styles.
preach! different from their usual stuff but still pretty good.
because before Tooth&Nails pretty much said what they can/can't do. Icon is now independent so this is the real them

"In your deepest pain, in your weakest hour, in your darkest night; you are lovely"
I love this song so much! I'm a girl who's in a a lot of male dominated environments and this is so relatable. And im so glad this does bring "attention to something better left unmentioned"
Huge fan of the story in the video and the costumes where so good!
Maya Wolff , I feel your pain. I'm a lady truck driver. This song is kinda like my anthem
Scratch that, let humans be humans. I'm a guy but there are something's like TV shows that I like that could be considered girly. For instance, I enjoy both Rambo and MLP very opposite sides of the spectrum.
i really love the message the song and everything
"Who gave us the idea that female fronted is a genre anyway?" THANK YOU.
!!!!
IKR
I've never once heard this term before tbh.
I didn't even know that existed
The closest I've heard is that certain people say they prefer female lead vocals. Not that it is necessarily its own genre.
This song is like hot damn! It's like bars and yet it's really catchy and has pretty good lyrics. I love and respect this band just like a lot of my other favorite bands :D I will always support you IFH
Marco Alcocer ooh please feel free to recommend a list of your favourite bands :D you have good taste, greetings from Canada ^~^ ☆♡
"Beauty sells, I buy it too. I'm trying to sell it back to you!" I love her and the band soo much!! The message is so deep.
Shawn just stands there with his guitar like "I got a guitar" but isn't playing XD
I love Icon For Hire forever, and I still miss Adam.
+REGISZILLA was kinda thinking the same thing. Song doesn't have much guitar parts so was curious how he'd handle it in the video. Dude still owned it tho.
This is probably my favorite song by them because it brings something that is a huge problem and she actually addresses it
When she says something along the lines of "Boys asking me to flash - News flash you're ignorant." That was so badass.
OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD!!! I love that you guys used people of all colors and sizes (a lot of times people don't :/ ). And the video in general was just so good. I'm proud of you guys. Screw Tooth & Nail (; ♡
what's tooth & nail? what does it have to do with ifh?
+Keori Katsumi It's their old label, that was pretty much trying to water down their lyrics and were telling them what they could and couldn't do with their music. They've since departed from the label and are now much happier on their own. :)
+Madison stevens wish they wouldn't have left Tooth&Nail
Isabel/Hisabel Mirosaki Why? They were seriously unhappy under that label and felt limited creatively. How is that a good thing?
Love how the music video is just "Hey kid, wanna join a rock band"?
I really liked the message of the song
O.O did not know she could rap like that. DAMN
She pulls out that skill in their song demons too. Its bloody wicked :3
Theres a lot of songs when she kills it!
This is rap? Really
Off with her head she kinda raps
@@jolenehampton5095 lies
I'm in a small band with some my guy friends and I felt SO out of place just because I was a girl. But when I heard this song, it gave me SO much hope and motivation to try harder. THANK YOU IFH!!!!
theres nothing these two can't do, don't need the damn radio. gonna keep this on replay for the rest of my life
I love it when she's spinning the little girl around. It brings back memories of my daughters. 2:37
i just discovered Icon for Hire a few days ago. Damn. all of their music & song is a thumbs up. the lyrics A++++. 👍👍👍👍👍
Almost in tears because this is the first music video I dared to watch because they had a girl in their band.
Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a singer but I was scared of being a sex-toy, and I grew up struggling with my gender because of that.
I just wanna sing my songs and have fun, thanks Icon for Hire, thanks all ya'll for standing up to this
I'm a hip hop head & I like this song
Tannish Brown I'm a metal, rock, and hip hop fan lol. Love this band
Tannish Brown I listen to, screamo, punk, rock , punk pop, punk rock, rock, and metal and I love icon this song is one of my favorites.
THANK YOU for the lyrics in the description. Love it when peeps do that.
"this isn't more metal"
"wish this was more rock."
rock and metal wouldn't fit the message. it's aimed at the pop culture and those rappers who believe and follow the trend of showing off more skin than necessary.
which is why i believe "pop culture" was one of the songs that made them want to quit Tooth & Nail
is this metal? I dont know, is this rap? I dont know, but one thing I know, its a perfect reason for everyone
to hate
Somebody
Make
A
Move
This is not metal its pop rock
To be fair this song is the core of Metal, buck the trends and push boundaries
Fight against the established order, it may not use the established chords and/or sound but the Metal Spirit is there
Great one, especially now that I have a daughter.
She'll listen to this one later :D
ua-cam.com/video/WHPVb-qMzsY/v-deo.html here is a awesome song for girls too
People it's RapMetal, don't complain if it doesn't deal with your expectations of Metal only or Rap only, it's just original !
Ariel's lyrics just always slap some sense into you
I'm not a hip-hop/rap kinda girl but I have loved IFH since Scripted came out.
Right. I can't believe some people don't like this song. The message is so powerful and has always been their style.
same here given I want to be a singer, she was my first girl crush, and I crushed on her after the audio came out, she is amazing in all of the ways a woman can be amazing. Icon For Hire is the first rock band with a girl singer that I ever liked.
+Meme most people hate rap, get over it.
***** All I said was that I couldn't believe some people didn't like the song. I've been over it boo. I'm not worried because they'll still make music. So.... Go somewhere.
it has rap = is has dislikes. Stop repeating your stupid question with your clarification.
Every girl needs to hear this song at least once in her life.
Am I the only one who thinks that Ariel turns into a badass in this video? Like wow!! I love the song and video so much!!
this song is fucking iconic
IMHO this song is the core of Metal, buck the trends and push boundaries
Fight against the established order, it may not use the established chords and/or sound but the Metal Spirit is there
ICON ARMY 4 LIFE. Stay repping Decatur, IL!!! When y'all coming back tho? Be nice to chill with y'all again.
Fuck yea! #DecaturRepresent!
I love it I love it I love it I love it *. * and I want that doll!
I want shawn.... too far?
+HoodedGargoyle I wanted the Ariel barbie but I'd be happy with Shawn's too xD
+Gabriela Marramaque no I want human Shawn... I want to hug him... kiss him... and have his children.... I think I just crossed a fangirl line from fan... to psycho...
+HoodedGargoyle well... We've all been there with some fandom, haven't we? XD
+Gabriela Marramaque who was yours? I actually wrote fanfiction lol...
How the fuck does this have less than a million views? What the fuck. Not only is the message amazing but the video is kickass too. And the music is catchy as all hell. Goddammit, America. You need more of this in your music scene.
pReAcH
fucking perfect
Go back to planet Vegeta oh wait.....Freiza blew it up Hue Hue Hue Hue!
Wray Anness op jajaj lol
Simply fantastic. As a father of a little girl who wants to be a singer when she grows up, I love this song and hope my daughter ends up with the mindset that she can be herself.
I love the message in this song.
I do prefer their older stuff musically
But if they want to go a new direction, then who am I to complain?
TheSharpoint1 this.
I love the lyrics, I love the message. I also love how there are women of all races and body types in the video... love you Icon!
Make a Moveから来たけどあまりの変わりように最初は⁉︎ってなったけど聴いてるうちにどんどんハマってった。この曲は中毒性ハンパないなって思った。
I can't put my finger on it but this video made me feel better about being nonbinary and presenting different as a kid
I love icon for hire so much
ı just love her pink hair
The ending is so cute! 😍😍😍
I love the message behind the music, I cant really get into rap music, but sure as hell can respect it. I've been an IFH fan for a while and I think its ballsy af and hard to go independent. Keep making awesome music but dont forget your roots!!
1:21 They just kidnapped a child XD
i noticed that too
Only for a little bit
CX They gave her back
Sterling the Espurr lol I think its still kidnapping though
But was it really kidnapping sense the child was willing, and got in the vehicle without force being used?
+Luna Shadow panda by definition, it's only kidnapping if it's by force and the child is taken and held unlawfully like for ransom. So, technically, they didn't kidnap her.
I’m in tears again over this song, I’m so sensitive and the message behind this so is so meaningful... It just... Nope, if I explain I’ll cry more.
These are most genius lyrics EVER
I love how you experiment with new sounds and ideas as time goes along rather than sticking to a formula. I mean sure, I am more rock oriented and maybe your old sound is better for me personally, but I love this song and I love that you are willing to take this risk to stick to your own ideals rather than try to please your loyal fanbase with the same kind of stuff. Keep being awesome! :)
I wish there was more music like this cause she told it straight how it is and i admire her for that
Preach! Congratulations on your 3rd album release!
Dang. This song is so powerful! Thank you for this!
Checking in from 2019! Just found this band am I am officially IN. Love the vocal style.
ok, this is my new artist of 2017. im impressed.
Same
the best thing. ever.
Not sure how I feel about the sound but the message does it all for me. Love them so much.
This woman is my idol.
This song is relavant to all my ladies in a male dominated field. ❤
I have literally endless love and respect for this
Blue Fish it's difficult not to.
i just recently found out about you guys, Make a Move was my first exposure, but everything is fire. Everything has an important message. Love you guys, Keep it up Ariel and Shawn
ok - kids... new legends....
Ariel, I started supporing Icon because I graduated with Adam. But I am one of... Oh, my kiddo just walked in and started singing this song... Your biggest fans. Love you and Shawn! Icon!
ARIEL IS QUEEN OF MUSIC, SHAWN IS HER KING AND I AM THEIR FAITHFUL SERVANT.
I went to a fob concert and we decided to put on "warpaint" and i did ariels make up from this video (someone recognized it and now we are friends=
Kira Tew i intend to😍😅
Crazy that the last time I listened to this it said released 1 year ago and now it says 6😭🤍
This reminds me of epic rap battles of history
They kinda remind me of Hollywood Undead with the mix of rock and rap.
U know, I love the inspiration she gives to small town children who dream big!
Dude I am WAY INTO THIS
Lol to all the people complaining about 'not having heavier music,' or 'the spirit of scripted,' if you don't like it, don't watch it.
Lol different album, so you gotta change things up! And I think they did a pretty good job with this. Even dropped an F-bomb in it haha
+Akasha Seijouruu If they started singing Death Metal or Grindcore would you be like "Who cares? It's good music."
+Akasha Seijouruu "Who cares? It's good music"
Define good music, I think Melodic death metal and Thrash metal is good music but most people don't think that's good music.
I have watched this like 10 times since Saturday... great job, for getting this song stuck in my head... *grin*
I love her hair and her dress ❤❤
this song does make me kind of wonder what it's like in the music industry.
I really Love this song!!!! And this song explains a whole lot about being a star
Such an incredible video !!!! So impressed
nailed it, keep speaking the truth! my wife and I love ya
I love the message here gets me pumped and I feel strong
"boys in the crowd asking for me to flash them, well here you go, news flash: you're ignorant and that's that" WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS PART IT'S SO WITTY
No kidding.
I'm loving her outfit in this video, very post apocalypse/steam punk. Love this band so very much.
God damn I want ariels outfit
Honestly if i was that little girl i would cover the mirror with an acrylic coating so the writing wouldn't go away XD
I love everything about this song! We need more music like this in the world.
Shawn must have felt out of place being the only dude. But I suppose that was part of the statement probably.
1:32 there isn't much guitar to play so he's just like rocking out... without playing it lol
They are married he's not going to feel out of place
I may be the thousandth person to say this, but the video is for some reason out of sync. Yet it wasn't before.
Also, love the song and video. something I felt truth in my whole life, and am happy to hear in music form.
