I had a contractor that was unfamiliar with metal roof installation. The roof has an identical break in it as demonstrated in this video. The brand new roof has leaked like a sieve since the first rain storm. I use the barn for hay storage and this issue renders my new barn useless. Contractor didn’t do any thing like your video. Thanks for pointing me in the direction I need to go.
How would you do that where instead of a straight roof your installing the flashing on, you have the wall of the house, and a built on carport that has two roofs intersecting with a roof peak in the middle. Would you splice it on both sides or what. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks for this Video, i am about to fix a roof with zero flashing on the gable ends and pitch breaks. and theyve used the panel screws into the low part of the corregation. im gonna salvage what i can but looks like ill be installing a new roof depending how bad it is when i start pulling it up to replace a sagging truss. all new to me,, but this video brings a bit of clarity to the jov ahead of me thanks again , subscribed :)
The angle of the flashing will need to match the angle of both pitches of the roof. There are some good videos on UA-cam that show you how to determine the pitch of the roof.
I just realized I'm calling a roof specialist who knows this. I'm not going to do all of this! All those specific steps and materials? This is a job for a professional.
Does anyone know of a video of how to transition the gable flashing or gable trim? Not sure how I need to approach that.

Does this work with asphalt shingles On the top pitch
Yes
Whats to stop rodents and insects from digging through the foam?
what trim would you use if installing a lean to and one steel panel meets the other head on?
Thank you for this video. I get the gist of it but I would be adding shingles under an existing metal roof. I believe I can do it though. Thank you
Ream your pre drilled holes.
My roof contractor needs to watch this video
Excellent presentation, thankyou.
Does this apply to polycarbonate also?
