I read Devon Price book "Unmasking Autism..." and it really broke me open in such a needed way. At the time, I was still not admitting to myself how unsupported my irl circle was. I was giving time to people who are just so unkind. And its wild to look back now and see myself there, in that way. Sending you love from afar ❤
Received and reciprocated! I'm reading Unmasking Autism right now, and it is genuinely life changing. It is giving me such a new lens on how to embrace the people in my life more fully, while also freeing up some of my own negative self talk. I'm so glad that the book and message found you!
Nice quiet vlog! I have been wondering/thinking about the "neurodivergent mind" lately. So many of us seem to relate to this, and it does explain lots, but perhaps many of us do not have neurodivergent minds, (not to say that no-one is) but perhaps as humans who have a different way of thinking we are majorly affected by the way the world is being channeled into being a certain way. The homogenisation of the the Global Market, influences, how we dress, the colours we choose, the "trends", the horrors we see inflicted on other people over and over again with pathetic excuses about 'the enemy' etc. I dont think I need to spell it out. And that we cannot talk about it, we cannot rage about it. Our followers, clients are very quick to say "this doesn't belong here" "this is not art/craft/knitting" But isn't everything related? Injustice in the past is still being dealt with today on a personal level but more and more injustices are happening and we are being made to felt that we have no say in the matter. Do what I tell you to or else situation. I do think that many of us are having a really hard time dealing with this fake idea of "individuality" and lost community. The Knitting/Maker community is mostly online, often supportive but very often very controlling. And it is online!!!! Thanks for the vlog, it does give people something to slow down with, and hopefully think about how to change their world so it impacts on others gently and kindly. And Las Vegas! The ultimate hypnotising bribe. It is beautiful, one can get lost in the buildings, art, food. But such a different story behind the facade. Knitting helps!

I am a teacher who primarily works with neurodivergent students and in the last few months I have come to the conclusion that the reason I enjoy and embrace these students is because they are like me. This is the first time I have actually typed that out and it felt good to finally admit it. ☺ Thank you for sharing and being one of the fold. I know that feeling of being overstimulated when I have to do too much peopling and never really thought of the reason why until you made your observation about being in Vega, but more comfortable in the peace and quiet of your room. ❤🫂
