Great video my ten year old and I just watched it and practiced tying it. Great demo. We did it around 2 fingers instead of the whole hand and it worked well like that too with the rope we had. Thanks.
A stopper knot is tied at the end of a rope to prevent the rope from slipping through a belay device when climbing or from slipping through a small hole to help retain a rope like a recoil rope on a lawn mower. Just a few examples. Thanks for the question.
@mikekollross8810 Yes, you are correct. I may add that to the title since there are several different Stopper Knots. This is one of the most common ones used. Thanks for the comment.
I like how you calmly explain these short videos. Useful, and very soothing too.
Thank you.

Good advice at the end. Everyone should heed that warning.
Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment.
Keep up the awesome work!!
Thanks for the comment.
Nice video. Quick tip on audio, I'd suggest looking into a de-click plugin like the one in RX Elements.
I appreciate the tip. I will definitely look into that. I am working on improving the audio. Also had a bad cold which didn't help the audio. Thanks
Good vid…TY for not playing annoying music as soundtrack
Also, going slow makes learning easier/faster…TY!
Thank you.
ONE of many "stopper knots"... I like the Figure 8, myself.
True, there are many different Stopper Knots. The Figure 8 is also a very common one. Thanks for the comment.
Surely it’s hard to untie
Yes, it can be hard to untie. A stopper knot should not come undone easily. Thanks for the question.
Great demo!!!
Thank you.
Well done. I learnt a lot
Thank you.
I learnt a knot
What are some uses for such a knot?

And thank you for the fast reply. A pleasure.
It’s also called a barrel knot
A similar knot tied around the standing part is called a scaffold knot or fisherman’s knot

not great if you dont have 3 foot of rope handy though.
If you have a very small diameter rope, you can make your wraps around 2 fingers instead of your palm.
Layk
Thank you.
