Delightful idea! And imagine the effect on a 5 or 6-year-old, when the last line of the story is, "And by the way, this story is all true! It's not made up!"
Love it, love it, love it! With all the nonsense going on in the world right now, its great to have a wonderful story like this to make us smile and warm our hearts!!! Thank you
Yet, at a global scale, our species cannot seem to get along with each other. But there's a lot of us that show care and respect for the flora, fauna, and mother earth. Great story. Adorable!
This is a lovely story and brava to the young woman who rescued this baby otter, but I was surprised not to see any mention of access to water. After all, Pip is an otter and so should have access to some safe water like a plastic children's wading pool, which I would think would be perfect.
@ Oh, good, there’s someone else out there who remembers Lawrence Welk! I used to watch it with my grandparents. My grandmother thought that Myron Florin was the living end.
I can definitely see how two incredibly agile predators, raised together, could potentially be the best of friends. They would probably leave each other alone in the wild because they're a pretty fair match as adults, though the cat would probably have it in the end. Otters are way more ferocious than you'd expect, when they need to be.
Thank you for sharing this heartwarming story with all of us. We humans could learn a lot from our furry companions, if we are willing to open our hearts and minds to new possibilities!
What a relief to listen to a woman presenter with a pleasant voice -- instead of the nasal, high pitched, grating, finger-nail-on blackboard, totally untrained voices that are, unfortunately, the norm.
I know that my cats have the same reactions as I do, to many things. It's my opinion, that cat found the baby otter to be as cute and lovable as you and I do. I seem to recall a Walt Disney TV story about the delights and troubles with trying to domesticate a little otter. It gave me the impression that otters are a lot cuter, sweeter, and just nicer to have around than a weasel, for one.
Just how did the young woman who persuaded the powers that be at the zoo manage to take Pip home & feed her every 2 hours if she had a job at the zoo? It's obvious that somehow the baby otter got taken care of & fed; but, how did the young woman manage to do this? Was she allowed to bring the baby otter with her to work? If so, how was she able to do her job & take care of Pip at the same time? Even if that were the case, bringing a baby otter back & forth every day would expose the baby to such a change of environment that its chances of getting sick were magnified. For once I'd like to have a complete explanation as to how such successful hand-reared baby animal were achieved.
2 months is a long time for any newborn animal to cope without its biological mother. Funny how much credit publicity along with land claims too which some young women demand in return for them only caring for a different species animal.
Thats really sweet and cool but just one thing the cat...its not a bengal its a friggin tabby for christs sake. A bengal, gimme break people.Seriously. Peace
This is just cruel..as soon as the Otter was strong enough it should have been slowly reintroduced into the Otter colony at the zoo..Otters live in water ! If she thought her cat was going to be lonely she should have gone to a rescue shelter and given a homeless kitty a chance of a new life !

A beautiful story well told. This should be made into a children’s book 🥰

Some story. The kind hearted woman and the curious cat. Too good. Thanks for the video.

Both are predators, both are social, and both love to play.
Aside from water (and occasionally, some cats like water), they're extremely compatible.
Thats what I was thinking
How wonderful! My only thought is, Pip needs water-- - he's an otter, a marine animal.
Ahhh! How beautiful.

A story of family❤
What sort of a zoo is that, that can't hand-rear a baby otter, or any baby animal for that matter ?
... 👍👍👍...
❤
This is a great story, but I have one question: Did water have any role in Pip's nurturing/rehab? Did you keep a tub filled?
Was pip returned to the otter world?
Curious? What 'Zoo' was this? My guess is that this is a roadside 'stand' identifying as a 'Zoo'.
2 months is a long time for any newborn animal to cope without its biological mother. Funny how much credit publicity along with land claims too which some young women demand in return for them only caring for a different species animal.
What?
Don't let the government see this. The otter and cat will end up like Fred the racoon and Peanut the squirrel.
Shows how nonhumans are further evolved than humans. Humans can’t even love each other.
Otters need water and cats don’t like water.
That’s true of MOST cats, not all. Check for YT videos featuring swimming cats.

just don't let the new york authorities know.
Let's hope the animal projection service doesn't get involved
Please keep your friend hidden from the feds. You don't want another peanut the squirrel episode
