Welcome to My Channel!
I am Rachael Martin, a twenty-something obsessed with traveling the world and taking pictures of everything! In September of 2021, I quit my job in retail after working at the same place for six years. It was just not what I wanted my life to be. In October, I set out on my first solo trip, overcoming fears and social anxiety that had bogged me down for years.
I have created this UA-cam channel to share my travel vlogs and tips. Hit subscribe and come along on the journey! Thank you!
Rachael! Thank goodness you're not stopping with less than 100 subs to go! Honestly it's a hard slog on UA-cam, I didn't think I would get there at one - nay many points, but I did and you're not that far behind. Dont stress it over subs they will come, it just takes time and I know there are channels out there that you follow that go way faster than ours but when you look at their stats apart from subs they are not getting many more if any views. It's a tough nut to crack. I did have to lower my expectations and just focus on shorter term goals but here you are in the 900s not so far from the magical 1000 figure. You're making great content but also exploring your passion. which comes through. Travelling is food for the soul and as long as you are enjoying the travel, the channel will grow.

Hi Rachael, YT is a tough gig, no question about that! I think with travel vlogging it's important we enjoy and want to create content on that subject. We do it firstly for ourselves, not for the attention of others. So keep on plugging away at it.
I visited a small part of Europe myself in 2019 (videos on YT), Italy included. I too loved Portugal.

Happy New Year Rach!!! Yes, it's very very hard and 1K is a great goal but equally important is getting the view time which is super hard. We're both in a very challenging and competitive segment (travel) but keep that passion. Watch other channels. Get ideas. Keep learning and getting better! You know we share your love for travel and are really glad we're connected. Don't be disheartened. If you fall down, dust yourself off and get back up. Travel on!!! Chuck and Lori - your fellow travel guides :) .
Thank you! I am so close to both 1k subs and 4k watch hours. I know I'll get monetized this year, I just have to be patient. lol I've been writing a list of things to improve on for videos this year.

So many channels I follow have seen a decline in UA-cam analytics. I don’t know why.
It’s sad. YT isn’t pushing the videos.
Its really hard and it definitely costs lots. You are amazing dont give up not far to go. We are new and its so disheartening when you put so much hard work in.

People’s attention spans are definitely even shorter than what they were just 5-10 years ago. Although the ideal length of videos on UA-cam is about 8-12 minutes. However, the videos that get most views and interaction are either much shorter or longer than that. So much of UA-cam seems contradictory. Anyway, I’d love to visit Italy. Hope you get 1000 subs soon!
