They didn't, but I do use the term "blasphemous-like" for games that are clearly inspired by blasphemous in artstyle and follow the metroidvania gameplay. It isn't a genre, but I just love seeing blasphemous being an inspiration

Yeah metroidvania not my type of games but I can appreciate the arts and the crafts the devs put in these games.

That's called a "vertical slice", my friend. Game developers will essentially cobble together bits and pieces of their games to show potential investors (in this case, kickstarter donors) what the game will look/play like when it's finished.
