I need to make a new fire pit at my house I used leftover cobbles and they all exploded with some of the monster fires I put in thinking about using some old granite curbing in a square like that great job boys!!!
@@michaelmaker8169 Fire brick is definitely helpful. I have used it on a few custom stone pits, but sometimes the customer doesn't want to pay the extra $ or it just does not go with the style... But as far as longevity, that fire brick is key 👍
Great job and great video. I’m will be putting in a pea stone fire pit in the coming weeks. How many inches of pea stone do you suggest over the membrane? 3? Thanks
Amazing content you are putting up! Thank you for putting in the effort. It goes a long way. Especially for someone like myself who's big on the diy thing. Im just learning of this channel. Hats off to you and your team. If you don't mind me asking, what type/brand of concrete do you use to set these stones in?
Thank you very much for the support! Im glad you are enjoying the videos. As far as the concrete that we set the cobbles in, we just use whatever 80lb bags of regular concrete mix from home depot, lowes or other material providers. Nothing special, just your basic concrete mix from a bag. ✌
It is sweet, One of my good friends introduced me to it years ago... As long as the base stays where it is, the laser won't move. It is self balancing on the inside so as long as the laser is shooting out of the machine, that means it is perfectly level. If it is not level, the laser will not shoot and the light will blink to let you know its un level. Very helpful in many ways👍
@@michaelmaker8169 I bought it at Home Depot like 3 years ago, I'm not to sure what the model number is but I believe it was like $150... It is just a 3 point laser, 1 shoots straight, 1 shoots up and one shoots down.
One last question I promise. At least I hope. What’s the purpose of putting a layer of stone down under the landscape fabric? I remember you saying why in another video that I watched, but I don’t remember. Thanks again
Terrific end result. Great job guys. 👍👍👍
Thanks, very cool place to enjoy a fire ✌🏻
Another great playlist brother.👍🇺🇸🇺🇸

It is nice repurposing pieces of granite like those. Very fun build, I love chiseling granite! That curbing would be a great idea 🤙🏻
The company I work for, we built a stone fire pit and lined it with fire brick.

Thank you. 3-4 inches will be just fine. Good luck with your project! ✌
Enjoyed the video.
Wondering what is the name of the cobble stone you used for the border? Very nice look.
Thanks! John
Glad to hear it! The cobbles are called ( Grey Granite, "Jumbo" Cobble stones ). They really leave a nice finish...✌

Doing a very similar project. How much concreted do you need for something like that?
Nice! We typically use 2 -80lb bags of concrete per 12-20 feet depending how much you put under / behind the cobbles
@@TheChristianHardscaper Thank you for taking the time to answer
@@PhilipBelmont No problem
That laser level seems nice.
Does it change much when you rotate it?
I'm in north eastern Mass.

Does lowes or home depot have them?

No problem, doing that helps stabilize the subsoil and fabric. It also helps the fabric allow water through more freely
