Brilliant...second to none history, well told.
In my Highland, Nova Scots family, I am named, again, the generational Robert, in Memoriam to a free-fighting independent Scotland.
Every summer...when I was a kit, we would do the pilgrimage back 'home' to the coast, from Ontario, where we all still attended our 1815 kirk in clan kilt.
My Grandfather, who passed this dust just prior to my birth was Glasgow trained clergy, a horseman and 'circuit rider', a Presbyterian who rode hard throughout the whole of Maritime Provinces.
We always well remember those exiled past dirty days... all forgiven... but here over our great, exiled North Atlantic swell, from our auld farm on Cape Breton Island, distances and times away... will remain a loyal and great supporter of a much stronger..... The United Kingdom.

He was a brutal ruler. His father's incompetence and being captured must have weighed horribly on Edward, he was never going to be taken advantage of like his father. And yet the history books are full of this great love for his wife. When she died he had a memorial set up at every stop they made on their honeymoon. The two sides of Edward are such contradictions.

I remember my dad taking a detour from our planned journey to show us one of the remaining crosses. He explained the history behind it. The significance, age, who Edward l and Eleanor were. We were told about his nickname, and the the battles he fought. As always, he managed to tell us in a way that genuinely excited me, and allowed us to picture the various scenes that he had painted. The manner in which my dad told us about historic events has been instrumental in giving me a love for history,

Not knocking you as everyone has a right to their own beliefs.
"Abraham's seed" has been obscured and muddied over the decades and the people currently claiming the ownership of that name are the largest supporters of wiping out the true root of Abraham's seed.
When one considers this whole idea comes from a book that tells you that damnation is for sure if you eat bacon or shrimp and damnation is also assured for those who wear a cotton/polyester blend...
My personal favorite is my argument for every christian woman..
1 Timothy 2:12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.
      Is this outdated?
Did god know nothing of the future?
Once again I believe everyone has a right to their own beliefs, I also believe in personal rights and that my rights end where yours begin.
In the end I truly believe that we should do unto others as we would have done unto us.
In the words of Bill and Ted, be excellent to each other.

He is also a great grandfather ( I forgot how many too) for my husband, It is on his mother's side of the family. The bible must be right, in the end, if we search enough we would find we are all related in one way or another. It would go back to Adam and Eve in the end in the end.
My husband's Great Grandfather ( still would need to look it up again to know how far back) but King Henry the 2nd and 3rd and on down through Royals today. Through the Plantagenet and Tudor families. We all would most likely find the same in some way. But not all would find it to be grandparents perhaps and it would be more distant for most. My family is related to some of the Presidents of the U.S. but not the same ones as my husband, which would be for my husband Pres George Washington, (actually for this Pres my husband would be a great-nephew (forgot how far back as last time) as he did not have children) So my husband would be related to The Pres. Bushes and also Pres Coolridge, as they too are related to the Royal family that we have found and traced to my husband. Even Princess Diana was a distant cousin as to the Royal family and Kate Middleton also is a distant cousin. Am sure all others noting the relationships would be the same if they connected it? It is so interesting how close we are to so many we have never met in person. But places like this brings us together in a small way.

4:21- Simon 100% had Henry’s blessing to marry his sister, saying otherwise is false. What made the marriage so controversial was the fact that Eleanor was the king’s sister. She therefore should’ve been married off to a foreign power or to a very important noble. The fact that Henry gave his sister to his buddy Simon (a relatively low level noble) was the scandal.
However, the part about Simon taking out loans under Henry‘s name is completely true.

But I find it even stranger to think that our own times are other people's distant or ancient past.
