I MISS the 80s. I was a teen. The BEST time to be that age EVER, where I come from... Quebec City in the 80s, was AMAZING!!! We had EVERYTHING. You just chose your bar and went partying. We had TWO streets to choose from, about 5 minutes walk away from each other... The biggest was Grande-Allee... It had Alternative (Ombre Jaune, & Midnight Express), Dance (Dagobert & Brandy), Glam Rock (The OZ bar), University Crowd (D'AUTEUIL), and the ULTIMATE... The PALACE CLUB (the COOLEST place in the city for a few years) the second is the tourist street with shops called Rue St-Jean. There were hard-rock, heavy metal, blues, and an army bar with nightly fights (some tourists thought the guys with short haircuts were just college kids.. usually, but there was actually a whole battalion based at the citadel, IN Quebec city, 3 minutes away from the bar... BAD idea.. ) ... Otherwise, they just fought themselves. Drunk as skunks (I did it too, not judging) The 80s here were SAFE, FUN, and totally Careless. The drinking age is 18 here, so most of us started going out at 16. NO picture ids back then... My summers were working, sailing on the St-Lawrence, and partying. How things change.
That's a funny comment but the true story about what inspired that concept is that producers had a weird spot under the ventilation and it blew directly into their faces and it wasn't a weird scene to see them all wearing sunglasses even at night time to kinda protect their eyes, :).
Yup, my first concert I ever went to in High school in 1986 I think, had my Corey Hart poster in hand standing on my chair dancing like a fool. The news paper shot a pic of me doing that at the concert and it ended up being on their front page when reporting about the concert. Love our Canadian boys! 💗🇨🇦💗 Wish I had a copy of that newspaper! 😎😎😎
This was a HUGE hit when I was in high school. Those style of sunglasses became a thing - very similar to those worn by Tom Cruise in “Risky Business”.
Man I just want to say how much I appreciate you reacting to so many different types of music. You are very intelligent and funny in your reactions. Keep up the great work!!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎🎥💽
Corey has a place on Paradise Island Bahamas. His driveway was on Club Med's property. I know because I used to be the nightclub bartender there. Met Steph and Owen his niece and nephew, great people. We had a lot in common as we all were from Montreal. Man, do I miss that job
Yo there's two songs I'd like you to react to 1. Modern English "stop the world (melt with you) 2. Red Rider "Lunatic Fringe" The latter is just as relevant today if not more so than when written in 81. Thanks man 💗
And for some reason I also want to say that he was briefly considered for the part of Marty McFly in Back To The Future before Eric Stoltz, and finally Michael J. Fox were cast.

Here's something I found on the song/video - According to Wikipedia, "The original lyrics for the song were about a totalitarian society that made everyone wear their sunglasses at night; however under pressure from Hart's record company to make something more marketable, the song was altered to be more "romantic"."
Thanks for bringing a house party into my home man. Love you and keep up the grind. Also, try some Oingo Boingo - Dead Mans Party or No One Lives Forever or anything else from their discography really.

“Tainted Love/ where did our love go.” Long version! You’ll get into it , trust!!! Please. 💛❤️✌️✨
My first concert was RICK SPRINGFIELD and COREY HART was the opening act. 🕶 🎶🕶🎶🕶🎶 The 80s were amazing to be a teenager.
Meanwhile currently being a teenager sucks significantly worse than the sucky parts of the 80s
I saw the same concert!! ❤️❤️
Every preteen Canadian girl’s first crush when this first dropped. 🇨🇦 I was like 10, and I wore this cassette right out. Love your reactions always.

And all of us boys wanted the spiked hair, earrings and bracelets :P

Rayban, this model is still sold and still expensive as hell. My daughter lost my wife's original pair and she almost died for it.
Corey would have made a good young Han Solo.
I never thought about that.....spot on!!!!!
@@mikeb1841 Ever since seeing it when it first aired on MTV, I've always thought that.

David Duchovny is a failed clone of Corey Hart

Billy idol - rebel yell, white wedding, eyes without a face
renee johnson yes. I love Billy Idol. He was so great in concert.
For Sure! Don't forget "Flesh for Fantasy" that video is so 80's Leo would love the vibe and song!

Classic 80's song. Another good one is Cutting Crew Just Died In Your Arms
Another great one you nailed it!
Yes! A fellow Canadian. He was our Canadian Billy Idol back in the day.lol Both are great
Corey Hart is pride of Canada! We all wore shades like Corey Hart in the 80s!

2. Red Rider "Lunatic Fringe"

Even the one hit wonders of the 80's were great.
Corey wasnt a one hit wonder....had many songs..just alot were big hits here in Canada where he and i are from :)
@@nerosurgeon Not only did he have more than one hit, I believe he was quite a song writer for other artists, including Celine Dion.
Hart had 9 songs on the US Billboard top 40 hits and 30 songs on Canada's top 40 charts. Hardly a "one hit" wonder.
And for some reason I also want to say that he was briefly considered for the part of Marty McFly in Back To The Future before Eric Stoltz, and finally Michael J. Fox were cast.
Never Surrender was a bigger hit than this was. Look up his billboard history. He’s got quite a few songs in the top 40.
I think you’d have a lot of fun with some of the ZZ Top videos. “Legs”, “Sharp Dressed Man”, “Gimme’ All You Lovin”. 👍🏻
Another Great 80's feel suggestion. I graduated high school in 1985, great time to be a teen!
