Beautiful how the youngest professor allows older professors to speak, showing respect. I consider my own feeling about the Lord saving my enemies and the enemies of the Gospel.
I was saying to myself that jona was so disobedient and had a lot of attitude but now I understand not saying he was right to be disobedient to the lord, this shows us that God can take us out of anything
Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
In keeping with the book of Jonah, Matthew 12:40 is inclined to interprets `the sign of Jonah` as that of "being in the belly of the fish for three days", but Luke's gospel does nothing of the sort. For Jesus says, "For as Jonah was a sign to the Ninevites, so also will the Son of Man be to this generation", which implies that the `sign` was, of necessity, significant for the Ninevites (for them to believe this Israelite prophet). Clearly, the rabbinical authors of the Book of Jonah, used Jonah's story for their own purposes just as Matthew does. However, the miraculous sign of Jonah is more a question of Jonah ascending from the mouth of the "Ketos", which has specific significance to Nineveh (Nina: meaning `fish within a house`). and Jonah (like `Kulullu`: `the fish-man`) is a sign to believe in. This is why God meant for Jonah to take that boat, and be vomited onto land by the "Ketos". If we re-evaluate the story from this perspective, then everything changes...
They are referring to Nephi which is actually in the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a companion scripture to the Bible and another testament of Jesus Christ. Here is a link that answers more questions! www.comeuntochrist.org/beliefs/book-of-mormon
