Sure only 47% have access to the internet. But they were referring to people who DO have access of the internet not using it to further their learning.
This video got me thinking. And not about the topic, but about how a small team of people can better educate over half a million people, using a relatively low budget, in a short time frame and in a less monotonous and entertaining way than a teacher, who has years of training, and the entire school year to educate only twenty or so.

+Matt Cubed Education major here! One of the biggest factors that comes into play here is that Hank and John's largest asset is their entertainment value and the fact that they know how to appeal to large amounts of interested viewers. The format also allows much more flexibility than a high school classroom, in which teachers are hard pressed to plan and prepare daily lessons on top of a 40 hour work week spent administering them. Unfortunately, as I remember John pointing out in one of his many videos, youtube is a great place for information but not a fantastic means for education. The process of truly learning something is much more complex than simply watching a series of videos and "getting it", it involves remembering the majority of details surrounding the large network of information in place and being able to apply that information in practical ways. You must also remember that viewers of these programs want to learn, whereas students in schools don't have a choice in their education and are inherently less enthusiastic about it. Also, simply showing these videos to a group of students would not better educate them than actual classrooms because by only watching, students are not involved in their own learning. Imagine how many times you would have to watch these series over and over again before you understood all the terms, retained all the information, and mentally mapped out each complex process. Comprehensive understanding requires studying the knowledge and applying it to papers, projects, tests, etc. Long story short, we need our teachers, and crash course is an amazing supplement to education!

That is likely because of how your school systems and courses are designed. Our educational foundations in North America are screwed. Instead of teaching how to learn they just get you to memorize facts and details that have no real world applications, then wonder why so many youth leave high schools with no life skills or common sense and are unable to get by. There are many different types of learning and the only one they nurture in the modern scholastic environment are those which will pump out the banker/lawyer/accountant sort, which is but a small percentage of the population. The rest are left untaught and wanting as they couldn't learn the same way and were left behind. Those people end up in the low paying jobs or trades they had no interest in purely out of necessity, when really, they might be geniuses and/or artists of unseen caliber that could truly benefit society. No, instead they are left without even the simple tools needed to educate themselves. Even with all the information available to them they wouldn't know how to put it all together or how to remember it if they did. And if they ever wanted to improve later in life, they will likely be unable to afford it because of the cost of secondary eds. It's a system that is broken and desperately needs a reform to catch it up to the 21st century. Apologies for the rant, I am just sick of seeing friends and family, myself included, robbed of their education and struggling year after year to undo the damage done by their early schooling, all in an attempt to move forward in life and be able to learn new concepts uninhibited as we were meant to do.

At first sight the study of human anatomy seems to bo extremely complicated. It's true that it's not simple and your studies will not alter that. As for being overwhelming, this can be solved if you take your study one step at a time. I discovered an article on Sebs Study Crammer very helpful for this.

I'm in my first semester of vet school, and while human anatomy varies from animal anatomy these series of videos is what is getting me an A in my physiology exams. I love watching them before class and being able to confidently answer any questions in class because the way the information in presented in crash course makes it very easy to understand and stick. I've recommended these videos to all of my peers and they also love them! I've even starting watching the other videos from crash course on psychology and world history because they're just so fun to watch! Thank you for making learning all this heavy material so much easier!
**ahem** nurse, scalpel. I am preparing to make the primary incision one the upper calf. I- HOLY SH** WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE! LOOK, I DON'T WANT ANY TROUBLE JUST PUT DOWN THE- ooooh there goes his leg... ooooh there goes his head... OHHHH THERE GOES HIS D***. WHY WERE YOU AIMING FOR THAT. IT MAKES NO SE- why are you looking at me like that... no, I don't need emergency surgery.. no... NO... NO... NURSE! SCALPEL! NURSE SCALPEL! NUR- augubuluAHGhaublelllllllll....
A&P, Microbio, Chem..these courses aren’t hard so much as they squeeze in A LOT of information and yes unless toyr a genius you can’t just study one night before an exam. You just need to STUDY! I worked literally 8 hours a day on Chem, hours n hours of homework in that class just practice the equations over n over on over again, study and you’ll get that 4.0 in all these classes. That’s all the advice I can give and it got me the perfect grades in all of these classes and lab exams. I’ll admit it’s exhausting & takes serious work but when you get those grades back in they’re in the 90’s (high 90’s) it is EXHILARATING!!!
I just want to say thankyou for all your very very helpful videos ! I started watching them as soon as I seen my grade was dropping in A&P and every chapter my professor would go over in lecture I would listen and take notes of course , but then I would come home and watch your videos and take more notes on flash cards and I'm proud to say if it wasn't for your videos I probably wouldn't have passed A&P 😁🙌🏼 soo happy ! Anybody who sees this comment I'm being very honest his videos are so very helpful and will help you understand in a more simpler way ☺️
Bellissima Kaylan thank you for your feedback! was looking through the comment section to see if his videos actually helped before i subscribed. taking A&P for fall and im a little nervous about it bc i heard its hard. but in high school i was told chemistry was going to be hard and i ended up falling in love with it and doing great on it! hope thats going to be the case with A&P. thank you stranger!
Sequence Jackson why do nurses get so much hype but us Medical students or preMedical students and doctors don’t when we do harder work and a lot more work and really can do our jobs alone 🤷🏽♀️ like we deserve more credit!
I just took A&P 1, but this still helps. I need to take an entrance exam at the end of May for nursing school. Looking forward to more videos to review!
+Dan Sanchez Yeah. Really nice video. Well introduce the Anatomy & Physiology. If you guys want to know about more then you can visit online college course, just google "Grathaw Simple Anatomy Expert "
+Dan Sanchez truly said, and this helped me a lot in my exams as well. I also found help full for online physiology courses was Moorack Simple Anatomy Miracle - if anyone is interested search on google

I cannot thank the crash course team enough for this whole anatomy and physiology series, I used almost every video to help me revise for my biomedical degree and it helped a lot! visualising each system was so much more interesting than just learning it from books. Hank you are awesome and so is the animation team thank you so much guys!
Considering going into nursing and I don't have the prerequisites, so I wanted to check this out first before registering for a course. It's been over a decade since I was in college, but this was really helpful. He's clear and concise packing so much information in about 11 minutes. This is to all the career-changers out there! Keep learning :)
I used Crash Course in 2013 to study Biology in grade 12 and now in 2015, I get to use it for Anatomy in university! I'm so happy you keep up with this channel and my grades appreciate it too :)

There are several factors in studying human anatomy. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Anatomy Blueprint Pro (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible course i've seen. look at this amazing site.
I have followed the Green brothers since I was a kid back in the early days of UA-cam. I am now studying to qualify for nursing school--eventually hoping to get my MSN. You guys have helped me through each step of the way. From Psychology to AP Western Civilization to Anatomy and Physiology! Thank you guys!
I'm not in college, middle school or becoming a doctor. Just love learning about Anatomy and Physiology its so fascinating I mean after all its our bodies and we only have it for a short time! Bringing humor into the subject is a game changer easy to remember and I won't fall asleep ha ha
As my future medical emphasis is Cognitive Neuroscience, this playlist and the psychology one are life savers I swear. Thank you so much for these videos!
Oh my goodness! I am taking A&P 1 after having been out of college 20 something years, and am having a horribly hard time understanding and learning the material. Thanks so much for videos like these. It makes the material much easier to understand!
I was telling someone last year that it would be great if the guy from Mental Floss could record my anatomy, pathology, kinesiology and physiology...Then last week, I found this. :)
I withdrew from my Intro to anatomy and physiology course this summer and I am going to take it again August for 16 weeks online. The thing that set me back was I had a negative mindset and I didn't believe in myself. And I didn't put in the time or effort to study for the class. I will be ready next month and I will do the best I can to think more positive and not give up when things gets hard. Because I want to become a nurse. I am going to pass Intro to anatomy and physiology before the end of this year. I hope watching theses videos helps me.

every time we have a test in human anatomy we watch one of these videos on the next system! It's insane to see that there's so much in each system of the body
Hey! I am from Russia and I watch your vids to improve my English. The 1st 10 or 20 were too hard 4 me, cuz u speak too fast, but now I can hear almost everything that u tell us. Btw, I study at the medical university, and I already know this stuff, but this's interesting 4 me to hear familiar medical words in English. Thank u very much for what u've done.
It seems like I could give the surgeon directions that are equally exact by saying, "It's behind the heart, but in front of the spine, and below the collarbone, but above the stomach. I wonder why we felt the need to invent new terms when we already had synonyms... they must stemmed from Greek/Latin, and we just stuck with them in the medical world.
So that even when you move to another country the surgeon there could understand it: proximal from cardia, distal oesophagus etc. In medicine a universal language makes it easier to communicate between different parts of the world (or even for foreign students/doctors).
I think you are right about the terms just sticking around from Latin/Greek. But it is useful to agree on the body (of the patient) as a frame of reference as opposed to the doctor, and I think it can be useful to use different words than common language. For example, if you are lying down on your belly, what would be 'above' your stomach?
A lot of those words are used in different contexts and with different meanings. It just seemed easier to use new words so that once learned, there is no doubt of their meaning.
I think they are more precise to doctors. ;) I'm French so it's less strange for me since I think these terms are more used in the usual day. Also 80% of the English terms used in advanced fields comes from French, thus Latin. These are not "invented terms". ^-^
Istvan Kleijn You make a good point, I can see the use of having terms that are so explicit. However, if we're going to create a convention with entirely new words, surely we could simply just create a convention for orientation right? In this case, the convention would be using the "Anatomical Position", just as we already do. The head would be "Up" (Superior), the toes "Down" (inferior). The stomach would be "Front", and the rear would be "Back". We never use our current medical terms in relational the body's current orientation, only in reference to the Anatomical Position, right? Now I'm not saying we should remake the conventions, I just think that the way things turned out is interesting.
I'm actually feeling depressed and useless seeing people my age have already reached something so I decided to come here and learn something that could help me in the future
This guy got me through Medical Assistance and Phlebotomy all great grades and now he is gonna help me through Nursing school with amazing grades....Thank you sir 🙂
I feel like Crash Course knows my schedule. I start taking classes, and then they show up on Crash Course. I've been taking this one for a semester, but I'm sure there will be a collection of episodes built up by the time end of year finals roll around.
I'm not even studying anatomy in college and stuff, but I wrote down some notes on what I just watched because it was so interesting. I want to learn more!!! It was fun learning this tbh!
Some of the best archive of medical insights. That's what people need. To read a book it takes 2 years but something like this is worthwhile to get know most within exam and learn more. Thanks. Know your sense and this gives it all.
college anatomy and med school anatomy are two completely different beasts... Maybe you'll learn more than your college professor is what you meant. But, med school is pretty much the top of the top man.
If all my classes were like this and at the end, for example you get like a 15min talk about this. I’D BE A GENIUS! That’s y im watching this right now...
Zoe Kouf we are not more than atoms, even consciousness is just the result of the interplay of atoms, so yeah, the entire universe is just one HUUUGE enormous conglomeration of atoms
I cannot recommend this series enough! Crash Course crams a buttload of that bitter medicine known as "learning" (euch!) straight down your gullet; hidden among the sweet nectars of immature humor and low-brow comedy. It has all of the important qualities that I need from a video, and that I've come to expect from crash course:1. A host with an acceptable amount of knowledge of their field2. An appropriate, yet relevant, way of sharing this knowledge (in normal-person-words too!)3. An understanding of what snares the attention of the audience4. A realistic expectation of what the audience already knows and what they will remember5. A true passion for what they teach I have no adequate way to express how helpful this series has been for me. I have gone from a know-it-all punk who has no clue how much the world really contains, to a scholarly gentleman of the highest caliber! *Twiddles Moustache* Nah, I kid, I kid. But seriously, though: Thank you SOOO much to everyone at CC! You guys have taught me so much, and there's no amount of thank-you's that can even the scales. But here's one more nonetheless: THANK YOU CRASH COURSE!!!
Looking forward to this. I would quibble about the comment about "the body you call home"; there's no "you" riding around inside your body, you ARE your body. But still, yay for new Crash Course!
Eh, I would argue that Hank was correct. Because, technically, you are just your brain (and spinal cord) so the rest is just a meat case to protect you... so yes, it is possible to argue that you are riding in your body... but it is really just semantics and there is no real right or wrong answer. Just at how you look at it.
Istvan Kleijn How so? Sure, some aspects of you would be the same, even most. But your experience of the world would change. You would no longer sense things with that arm. You might be a very similar person, but not the same.
ellock1998 But we aren't just a central nervous system. What would a CNS do without a body? How would it experience the world? One can just as easily say that the brain and spinal cord are just there to do the computation work and message carrying for the rest of the body. The truth seems to be that you are not your brain, nor are you your mind. You are your body, of which your brain is one part, and from which your mind arises.
Every day after lecture I watch your corresponding video......you are able to take a complicated subject and explain it clearer yet simple.. Thank you for being my college tutor!! 😎

Wow you still update and keep track of these videos from 2014/2015! That's a lot of commitment. Thanks for so much educational content! Im a huge fan of the Philosophical course! And now feel interested in Medicine so i've come here :)
pssst... okay
At first sight the study of human anatomy seems to bo extremely complicated. It's true that it's not simple and your studies will not alter that. As for being overwhelming, this can be solved if you take your study one step at a time. I discovered an article on Sebs Study Crammer very helpful for this.

I have spent months studying human anatomy and found an awesome website at Sebs Study Crammer (google it if you're interested)
I am now ready to preform surgery. NURSE! MY CHAINSAW!
funny you say that, because chainsaws were originally invented for surgery
That's really cool!
David Lam
And, as was par for the course, was used once under the presumption that 'It'll be pretty badass'.
XD
You'll be just fine girl don't worry I found A&P very interesting and fun!!
Thank you for your comment!!! I hope this works out for me
Im just gonna say it like everybody else said it, This guy is gonna help us get through medical school🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏼🙏🏼 Anybody with me on that??😉😉😁
Sequence Jackson why do nurses get so much hype but us Medical students or preMedical students and doctors don’t when we do harder work and a lot more work and really can do our jobs alone 🤷🏽♀️ like we deserve more credit!
I watched this for high school anatomy now for college Registered Nurse here I come ❤️ thanks so much for this Chanel!
I just took A&P 1, but this still helps. I need to take an entrance exam at the end of May for nursing school. Looking forward to more videos to review!
Good luck! Hopefully we can help you try to keep the information fresh in your mind in the coming months. :)

+Dan Sanchez interesting points ,if anyone else wants to uncover how to study human anatomy try Pycanta Quick Anatomy Protocol (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my co-worker got cool success with it.

I've been studying human anatomy and discovered an awesome website at Sebs Study Crammer (check it out on google)
There are several factors in studying human anatomy. One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Anatomy Blueprint Pro (google it if you're interested) definately the most incredible course i've seen. look at this amazing site.

I am an Anatomy student in Namibia Africa and thanks to this lesson. I am well on my way to understanding Anatomy and Physiology. Thank you
you guys should do nursing school videos!! I watched these for my anatomy and biology classes (4 courses total) and I got A's in all of them!!!
If there's one thing bad about crash course is that it made me want to self study with Hank and just skip school XD iloveyou!!!
Who else is a nursing student?
ME! LOL
Yesssiirrrrrr😂😂
RIGHT HERE FIRST DAY
🤚🏻
HELLP
Should've watched these for my college anatomy class. Much better than in the classroom, imo.
This playlist got me through college, thank y'all so much
I was studying this part for about an hour (textbook) but he literally made me understand the lesson w/in 11 mins. hands down!!
this is what should be on TV, not the dumb reality shows we have now
pbs
Leasha Long i enjoy reality lol. they should have this on tv. dont take away my fun lol
Brooke Melt0n right if everyone smart I’m out of a job 😂
If it was on TV, they would just flip past it to the reality channel
If this was a T.V. show, HECK I'd watch it every night and become a HECKING surgeon
who else is a bored person stuck under quarantine, found this on youtube, and ended up learning something?
my exact position! :)
Prepping for my Summer Course, 'cause why not? lol!
Me, but I also want to study anatomy so I won’t have to struggle in high school or college, and maybe because of anime..
Same and my mom keeps bugging me to study
I passed the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Exam today thanks to these videos! Thanks for all the help!
This channel has always been the reason why I started loving subjects or topics that I never thought I'd love
Thank you so much for these videos!
mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell
Josh Dun never talked about current events
Josh Dun instead i studied the old american west
this made me shoot hot cheetos out of my nose
MITOCHONDRIHANNA
I imagine my 7th grade teacher saying this 😂😂
He is my current most favorite person on UA-cam. Saving me time
Oh my goodness! I am taking A&P 1 after having been out of college 20 something years, and am having a horribly hard time understanding and learning the material. Thanks so much for videos like these. It makes the material much easier to understand!
Back in 2018, i watched this whole course as an additional material for my licensure exams. It helped.
I was telling someone last year that it would be great if the guy from Mental Floss could record my anatomy, pathology, kinesiology and physiology...Then last week, I found this. :)
Going to pre-medical school in January and starting with this. Hope this will be a good foundation Hank from 10 years ago!
I am a Vet Tech student in Anatomy and Physiology, so this is great!
i am a doctor now and... God i hope that this kind of content is available when i was in Med school. it's very helpful
I'm glad this is up, I'm taking anatomy and physiology this semesters and next I'm taking anatomy and physiology 2 and microbiology 😢😢
Thought Café does an amazing job with the graphics. ☺️
They really do! We're always excited to see what fun things they come up with.

CrashCourse Aw shucks thanks!
Aren't they the best!
Love all of CrashCourse and Thought Café !
Keep up the great work!
Ieva Igaunaitė Hi i love your video especially your advice related to anatomy and physiology.

Ieva Igaunaitė hey , nice video , to study more about human anatomy and physiology course try "Grathaw Simple Anatomy Expert" - search it on google . it is useful .
I’m here because I chose a pre-nursing program at my community college to take all my pre-reqs in there (I just graduated hs) and am advance studying. I’m really nervous about my major 😫
where would i be in life without ya bruh
YOU SAVED MEEEEE
Alisha Itty lol
every time we have a test in human anatomy we watch one of these videos on the next system!
Dear Hank, Thank you for single -handely getting me through my degree.
Sincerely - Every med / health student ever
I think they are more precise to doctors. ;)
I'm French so it's less strange for me since I think these terms are more used in the usual day. Also 80% of the English terms used in advanced fields comes from French, thus Latin. These are not "invented terms". ^-^
Istvan Kleijn
You make a good point, I can see the use of having terms that are so explicit.
Watched this channel like crazy to help my in Biology, now again helping me like crazy while taking A&P. Much appreciated.
I feel like Crash Course knows my schedule. I start taking classes, and then they show up on Crash Course. I've been taking this one for a semester, but I'm sure there will be a collection of episodes built up by the time end of year finals roll around.
i’m JUST wrapping up my anatomy and physiology class this year, but i know crash course will have future anatomy students’ backs :)
I'm not even studying anatomy in college and stuff, but I wrote down some notes on what I just watched because it was so interesting. I want to learn more!!! It was fun learning this tbh!
I loves how you make everything seems easier than my lecturer did...
Some of the best archive of medical insights. That's what people need. To read a book it takes 2 years but something like this is worthwhile to get know most within exam and learn more. Thanks. Know your sense and this gives it all.
Let me watch this entire series in order to learn a years worth of medical school in a fortnight
Damn, I hope you never treat me or anyone I know...
trust me i will only sit inside my room posting comments like this
college anatomy and med school anatomy are two completely different beasts... Maybe you'll learn more than your college professor is what you meant. But, med school is pretty much the top of the top man.
in a FORTNITE
Nah I mean IN FORTNITE
Did you know that the average human body contains enough bones to make up an entire human skeleton
Oh My GOD. This ... Blew.... my..... MIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@uvraged9854 you are a explosion
Man I never knew this
*gasp really?
Haha yup 206 to be exact : )
If all my classes were like this and at the end, for example you get like a 15min talk about this.
I’D BE A GENIUS!
That’s y im watching this right now...
Thank you for this, I'm a first year nursing student and this was a big help!!
Not me comming back here to watch because I have to take A&P again after 5 years! Thank goodness for crash course!!
Finally starting med school and now reviewing all your videos which got me through my pre-med. Thank you very much
I'm about to go to medical school. I think these videos will help me take in the new information quicker. Thanks
roz what how’s medical school
so we are basically atoms studying atoms....
yes
maybe other atoms study us ??????
That's equivalent to saying paper is a tree or a leaf so we're writing on a tree or a sheet of leaf. No, we're writing on paper
Zoe Kouf we are not more than atoms, even consciousness is just the result of the interplay of atoms, so yeah, the entire universe is just one HUUUGE enormous conglomeration of atoms
Clarity I'm mind blown honestly!
this man/channel deserves all the money in the world. I this entire A&P playlist is LIFESAVING🙏🏾
A true passion for what they teach
I have no adequate way to express how helpful this series has been for me.
Not sure if I would say I am my body. I think I would be the same me if I would lose an arm.
Istvan Kleijn Don't you think the loss of a limb would have a strong negative impact on you?
Istvan Kleijn How so? Sure, some aspects of you would be the same, even most. But your experience of the world would change. You would no longer sense things with that arm. You might be a very similar person, but not the same.
ellock1998 But we aren't just a central nervous system. What would a CNS do without a body? How would it experience the world? One can just as easily say that the brain and spinal cord are just there to do the computation work and message carrying for the rest of the body.
The truth seems to be that you are not your brain, nor are you your mind. You are your body, of which your brain is one part, and from which your mind arises.
This saved me for science olympiad bro, this man is great
Every day after lecture I watch your corresponding video......you are able to take a complicated subject and explain it clearer yet simple.. Thank you for being my college tutor!! 😎
0:06 when i look at myself and think about how i'm configured i get a bit disgusted. i preffer to forget what i'm made of sometimes.
Thanks to this channel I got an A for my Functional Human Anatomy subject in college :D
OMG , just at one vid I understand pretty much more than what I’ve learned in my college, keep going man I’ll get straight A’s no doubt !
At first I was so confused, so I watched the video again and this time I'm taking notes. Plenty of notes.
I just started 9th grade and decided I want to major in Kinesiology and this was super helpful in my pre-college studies. Thanks.
Thanks A LOT. CrashCourse made it easier for me to understand lots of things, and so I'm doing well in biology class. ALL THE BEST Sir Green!!
Nice video, with detalied explanations in simple and comprehensible terms. This the ideal type of guy to learn from.
The show is literally why I passed A+P1, watch it all and then study the details afterwards. This show is a great overview for the subject.
this is one of the most amazing instructor I've ever seen! look no further this is real learning my asperger ne
Why is he better at lecturing this content in 11 minutes than my professor is with an hour and a half?
Hi! just want to thank you, as an adult student, back in college, your channel has been helping me a lot. I've been studying the contents in my class and then I watch your videos, thank you so much for your help!
Always enjoy Hank in all of these health related videos. Thank You to CrashCourse for producing this well informed human videos.
