I've had several boats, and I have never had good service out of a Mercury engine. I hope you have better luck with them than I have had. Yamaha's have always been the most reliable for me.
@@roberthoffman5145 Agreed I would of gone with the Yamaha 425's or even the new 450's even though it id the first gen and might come with more risk. Never had the issues out of their outboards like we have with mercury.
The new Merc's are sweet. So is the family boat. The rally cat's new bar door's are going to be legendary. Plus finally a little bit of safety for you. Take care.
Too funny, a good all around knock around boat 🤣 I have a friend with the same boat (with triple mercs too) - those boats are awesome! I'm sure you will love the merc's. I live in the area, I think I have seen this boat out before. But since I can't afford those big dog boats, I'll stick with my dingy (239 key west). Just try not to throw too big of a wake at me...
Hell atleast you have a boat that’s all that matters I have a 16-52 that’s flat bottom jonboat that’s a 79 model with a Yamaha 40hp jet that’s a 86 model and it works just fine not everyone needs a 250,000 dollar boat. As long as you can get on the water that’s all that matters
As Florida man myself lived here since I was 4 now I'm 37 grew up around boats and the water and that boat is going to be an absolute unit. Probably need to rename the channel teeth and boats 😅 I'm totally here for it can't wait till the long tail gets here
Love the boat content! It’s cool to see what goes on with a shop that can do whatever the customer wants. And BIG plus for shouting out those guys with the trailer, you didn’t have to but super cool that you did!
Didn’t know you had a yellowfin! Idk why I wouldn’t expect you to have a nice setup for the gulf. It’s kind of a requirement if you live in Sarasota or Venice area. I love it there wish I could live full time vs only able to be down 2 months outta the year. So we just rent houses for the month of July and then rent for the month of October now we sold are house because it just didn’t make sense and didn’t wanna rent it in fear of people damaging it. And the market went insane so it made sense to make $450k over what we paid and had in it.
hell yea brother keep up the good content! love all the variety in the videos cant wait to see the boat up an going you should definitely do some offshore fishing videos that would be sweet!
Defiantly a good motor, I've got a new 250 proXS on my bass boat and haven't had any yet but haven't put a ton of hours on it but what I've hear its hard to beat the reliably of the Yamahas especially in the salt.
I’m a hard Yamaha fan growing up skiing on the lake our old 200 was a weapon but man the new mercs are sick, loving the content man new subscriber here. But you should buy a small go fast boat under 21ft with 300hp+ 😅
Lol at Parker saying the 3 400 hp merc are just for leisure and chillin at the sand bar hahah 1200 hp that boat I'm sure still gets after it despite the weight lolol
I didn’t know you had a Yellerfin. I HAVE TO MEET YOU BRO! Let’s go see what this thing can do! Congrats on the 100K brotha. You definitely deserve it. Gotta pay for that fuel somehow 😅
Was that boat on a fishing show once? I remember watching a fishing show with the FF logo on the side of a yellowfin but didn't recognize anyone on board.
@@DoctrParker you will like the verado engines, although you won't get as much top speed out of the 3 blades. We did find that the 4 blades got us out of the hole faster without babying the throttle. Took the family yellowfin down from like 70 to low 60's.
Looking good man, if you’re looking for even more customization to the boat. I am a dealer for SeaDek in South Florida. I’m always happy to make the trip up and can get you a good deal on it with a free estimate without even seeing the boat in person. Let me know if that would be something you’d be interested in! Love the content as well, been watching since you started the channel!
@@DoctrParkeroh I’m not hating at all love the set up .. we do a lot of bottom fishing on east coast and it has come in handy when bottom fishing when we don’t have the Rhodan trolling motor
I am a Yamaha guy at heart but I will say the 5.3l 350 v8 is the worst engine Yamaha has made the pushing power of the 450xto is very impressive haven’t been on a mercury boat with a v10 or v12 yet
I'm absolutely shocked. I've never seen anyone swap a Japanese motor for a mercury. Usually the other way around. I just spoke to a guy at the Toronto Boat Show, he said he's worked on Mercs for thirty years. Nothing but problems. Yamaha and Suzuki dominate the market hands down.
The content is Phenomenal, Parker. The commercial at the end of EVERY video is not. Yeah, Yeah, I Know. I can already see the comments from the extra smart people who will comment, just stop the video.
I’m 45 and when I was young we always called Mercury the welfare engine because they were black and only worked half the time😢 They are all good to go nowadays
Those were the worst Yamaha's ever made. I'm still not convinced the Mercs are going to as dependable. We will see if you get 1200 hours out of those. Sorry man, been in the boat business for 25 years. Pro Marine are great people and will do a great job.
I really enjoy the boat content!
Thanks Wayne!

Best of luck with the mercs. Yamaha has been dominating the saltwater market for a reason.
He was running the most problematic Yamaha made but do agree they are on 75% of ever boat.

Relatable content with like 150k worth of outboard engines and equip. Cool.
Nothing like 60k dollars worth of engines on your boat
160 with install, labor, rigging, electronics, fuel lines, etc etc
Close to 60 for one

Every Merc I’ve ever dealt with has been a coLOSSAL pain in the ass. Hope you get the performance you’re hoping for…
Not a smart idea I’m a boat mechanic I see way more issues with the newer Mercury’s then the Yamaha’s I rarely see anything wrong with the Yamaha’s
Like 7 years is old for an engine.
Not a bad way to spend $160k…plus labor 😅😅😅
Yamaha 350 are the worst and even harder to get parts for also the weight you save moving over to the Merc's. And the fuel burn will be better.
