You know what y'all should do. Crystal and some of the kids should buy random items for both of you. You both get the same random ingredients ( that you know everything will be eaten ) and have to cook it on the spot without planning on what your gonna cook. Kinda like master chef or other shows. This will make y'all think outside the box and can have two different recipes. Good luck
@@KellyPoh1489 crystal would know what they would waste it's not like someone outside of the home is buying it. The point of this is so they don't prep and plan ... Kinda like a competition

Oh I love this! So much fun! Tristian - I see big things for you in your future! I have a feeling this channel is going to grow fast with these fun cooking segments.
Tristan could make a bologna sandwich taste like a gourmet meal. It's so much fun to watch him at work. Does any one remember "The Galloping Gourmet"? Reminiscent of the "Great" Graham Kerr.
Living on my own, I challenge myself to $10, or less, a day. Most of the time between doing most of my protein, dairy, and egg shopping at ALDI, as well as building my pantry/spice stock from BOGO deals it is possible. There are times where I need something to re-stock, or an ingredient I don't normally use. But, I can proudly say I have only paid to eat outside of my house once in the past six months, and never go over $12/day on average. Love that you are doing this!
I think using up herbs (especially dried or homegrown), spices, and minced garlic that you already have is fair. When you first move out on your own, you slowly build up your supply of these items plus you never use all you have at one go. Another awesome food video and it's awesome seeing the kids try different meals.
I really enjoyed watching Tristan cooking with affordable price and what we can get from Walmart. No specific brand no organic brand everything can cook. Nice job
Rotisserie chicken is my favorite meal short cut. I also boil my own split breast and pick all the meat off. Vacuum seal 2 cup servings and freeze the chicken and the broth separately. Makes dinner after work so easy! We like to make taquitos, pasta, salad or sandwiches out of it. Thanks for sharing another wonderful, cheap recipe!
What if you do a restaurant signature dish challenge where you order a signature dish from a restaurant near you and you and Tristan cook the same meal and have someone judge to see which of the 3 are their favorite and if they can tell who made which dish? Just an idea
Video idea: Tristan making school lunches! I saw Crystal and Hannah making her lunch for school. Am pretty sure Tristan could come up with some cool lunch ideas!
For me, it was clear that Tristan can cook on a budget for a large number of servings. He met the briefing easily as we saw. I liked the composition and combination of the dish. The cooking and culinary techniques are well done and explained, but deserve a better recording , (IMO). The recipe/dish lends itself to variation of protein (fish/pork) and vegetables (carottes/leek). Up to the family to be creative and practise. Suggestions: - cook with leftovers and minimum waste items. F.e. make crispy chips with the chicken skin in the air fryer? - replicate alone a dish Ttristan once prepared. And though rather similar don't confound pasta with noodles.
Tried this recipe with a few tweaks for my health issues by substituting dairy-free cream cheese and used what spices u had already on hand. I added chicken to half that I made for my husband and he loved it!
That looks like Cutco cutlery. Best stuff ever! Just know that it will go through (at the same time), frozen chili, your hand, and the Rubbermaid bowl and Then, a drive to the ER equals, pain, blood and NO MEAL that day! 😂😂😢
Nice, looks amazing. Just one camera critique, whomever was filming needed to put the camera on Tristan's hands (in the beginning) and not just on him speaking.
I love all the things you make! Even when Aaron and the kids cook alone but does everyone in your family actually like onions?? You use A LOT of onions and in like everything. In my house this is a no go. I think myself and one other likes them but even then we have limits. I do realize they can be left out and recipes can be altered but sometimes consistency is altered if you don't use some ingrediencies. Just curious if all the kids like them. To me personally it looks amazing!!

Please focus more on Tristans hands than his face and if possible give us the recipe in your description so that we can try ourselves. In South Africa we have something called a Bunny Chow i would love you to try and make it.
What do you not understand about Joe deciding to step away from UA-cam for his own mental health?? No, he will not stop in on a video! Use your brain. Also, Crystal and Aaron already gave an update saying he’s okay, and that’s all they’re going to say about him out of respect for Joe. People need to move on and stop bugging the family about him. Respect boundaries.
I will leave a “hate” comment, but not towards you Tristan. More so the fact that your rotisserie chicken here, is going to run you anywhere from $16-$22. The block of cream cheese with no sale is $6 or $7. A small container of cherry tomatoes, around $5. What else was there…. box of pasta $4-$5. Where is this you ask? 🇨🇦 A beautifully expensive place to live. lol 😝 If we saw a rotisserie for $6… we’d be screaming, “Start the car!!!!” 🚗 💨 😂
You need to keep your comments to yourself. She has already said she doesn’t like people pointing it out, which is why she covers her mouth. Because of jerks like you. Sharpen your knife! You don’t get teary eyes if your knife is sharp. I made French onion soup for the oncology ward at my local hospital and sliced six 5 lb bags of onions. Not one tear. But I sharpened my knife after every bag. The soup went over very well. And the chef couldn’t believe I did it.

Sometimes I save my chicken or turkey carcasses, and freeze them for broth later. I do the same with the cut off ends of veggies.
I think it is an important step towards minimum waste and leftovers cooking.
