Thanks Rob/Chris, it was sad to see it go as I've looked after it for so long. Appreciate all the comments too from you guys. Nice to meet you all. From the geezer in the pub!
Ha ha it’s the geezer from pub selling a van 😂😂well done selling it to salvage rebuilds lovley but of content and well looked after van well done sir 👍🏽👍🏽
Rob the wee crease at the bottom of the 1/4 is on both sides and Ment to be there , I learnt that the hard way the first time I repaired one as I’m panel beater 🤣👍
Met my wife in a Pub carpark ☹️ never again 😂 she was high mileage and high maintenance and still is Rob 😉. You got a great buy there guys and looks amazing for the mileage.
Rob on camera, that interior looks new! It’s obviously a tribute to the geezer care that he’s taken of it, but also a tribute to Ford for durability. It’s no wonder they are legendary…
Well done Rob and Captain Slow ! That Transit is definitely a Short Wheel Base as the side door runner goes all the way to the back door. The LWB has a gap at the end before the rear door.
Great van lads and as usual a great vidio. You two guys have kept me company through 11 weeks in hospital with covid in 2020 and recently again after a heart attack you both were there to keep my spirits up. Thank you both for your constant positive and enthusiastic approach to all you do. Well done and so appreciated. 👍🇮🇪☘️
Those key stone cop valeters are absolutely wonderful. An absolute winner from beginning to end that van is .and easy money in the bank. Yet again another fantastic video rob and Chris.
This is what sets you gents apart. There’s those in the trade in the know and those that know their trade and you guys are definitely the latter. Nice turnaround and nice little vid as always. Cheers gents.
I don't think 170k mileage is anything to worry about, its got full-service history and been very well looked after. I have seen these vans with 300k on them, still going strong! Great turnaround on the van guys, what a difference a wheel refurb and a good clean make.
I swear to God I wish there was more guys like you too here in Ireland pure honesty from start to finish in every video great job as always U put the car trade here in Ireland too shame lads keep up the great work
High mileage should not put you off. I run 3 vans. 14 plate Movano 436000 miles, 67 plate Master 268000 and 69 plate Master 131000. Serviced as per schedule plus mid service oil change. All running on matching michelin aglis tyres and all drive very sweet. Tend to buy my vans at 3 years old with about 100000 miles on them. My mate buys new vans that are never out of the workshop. Let someone else sort out the teething problems and then look after them and you cant go too far wrong. Last van i sold was a 10 plate sprinter that had clocked 590000 miles. I got rid only because the body work had become too scabby to take to customers houses. Still drove perfect and the Lithuanian guy that bought it said it was the best driving van he had ever driven.
I wouldn't be afraid of that mileage. That car is in a very nice condition, and repairs might come on every car. As usual: Really nice job both of both of you.
Always listen to Chris mate. He is right, nice little vid, got everything we love, shrapnel for coffee, a days money and a great result from the cleaning guys, they do wonderful work, and so cheap. Great content as always guys, thanks for sharing.
Despite having a high millage this vehicle has been used but it hasn't been abused,on the contrary,it's been looked after with full service history.Four and a half thousand pounds seems a reasonable price given it's condition.
Brilliant intro - the thumbnail had me hooked, but I enjoyed the laughs up-front as well. Good luck with this one, looks like you landed on your feet, decent van for sure.
Hi Rob and Chris, more like this please, right decision due to the mileage (and its a Transit) may go on for yrs.... may not.. !! Will be an easy trade out for a nice earner... cleaned up a treat, and the difference the wheels made.. Alex
Rob, love your channel and watching you and Chris working. I must admit I laughed at you complaining about the heat. I am British but I live in the USA, in sunny AZ, today it was 46c, we have just had the hottest July on record.
Fond memories of this exact van (year/model) Drove from the UK to athens with 9 capital cities on the way in 13 days there and back. Was actually pretty comfy during 10-15 hour driving days :) Cracking van for the money.
Rob, I like these videos, you take a punt and work your magic. Always honest, always do the right thing. Watch all you and Chris' content no matter what. 👍
Hi to you both, first comment from me I think even though I subscribed years ago. Its regarding safety in a way, and not a bad idea to share it with others. I believe that your van is one of the last with the 2.2 engine? if so, then have a quick look under the bonnet just below the red positive battery charging lug, there is a corrugated piece of wiring loom that usually rubs against the water hose, easier to feel it than see it, just run your hand along the hose. I have seen them with about a 100k and the pipe is nearly rubbed through, and you don't want that letting go on you in 6th gear for sure. Seems like a design fault on them. Worth sharing I think. On a lighter note, I am a painter, and repaired a blue one as it was damaged on the lower half, there was a crease there too, so I did the full grind it down, spot weld dent puller etc, etc, only to find that by looking at the other side, its wasn't a crease, the bloody thing is factory. So the one I did is maybe something that you can call customised? Anyway, you can't see both sides at once.🤭 Take care and all the best for the future, John.
I bought a transit 2016 earlier this year with 300k miles, it’s looks like new and drives the same, and Rob when them wheels was off you should have tfr the inner arches and power washed it off, they normally come up fantastic and make the van look so much better,
I've got a 2017 mk8 transit that's got 145,000 miles on it and it literally looks like it's done 40,000 inside and out. Had a recall for the timing belt last year too so that's been changed. I got a 2017 because of Ulez, had a Mk6 before that with around 170,000 on the clock. Keep up the good work guys 💪
your right rob it doesn't look like a 170k van it looks fresh and ready to work, shame the guy had to sell it as he seems to have taken really good care of it , a nice quick turn around and it helps keep the lights on! did chris get the change from the glove box? 😉 was it enough for a new pair of sun glasses😁 thanks guys 👍
Great video Rob, That’s the way you want them, Quick and simple turn around and everyone is happy, I made a rule at the start of this year for the first time in 25 years in the motor trade, No more than 2 to 3 cars laying in the yard at any one time, and it’s working and turning more threw the workshop, Keep up the great videos👍🇮🇪
Move on quickly for trucks and vans. Some of those cars are like pulling teeth to finish but quick in and out keeps the bills paid on time. We go through that all the time with complex repairs, money tied up in parts and one part on back order holding everything up. A quick service, oil change and a set of tires, a battery and a tune up, get the machine finished and the money collected! Great job guys.
Chris reference your A6, I totally sympathise with you for the way you drive it. I have a Audi that I drive like a baby carriage. I have owned many motor cars but the Audi drives like a magic carpet. Good on you Chris you deserve a very fine motor car.
From across the pond. I've been watching your videos for too long. I was spot on with your asking price on this one. Looking forward to the next one. TA. Narragansett Bay
should of played seamus moore, the transit van song 🤣 id like to see more of these quick flip video's, shows just how busy yous are on the daily,. class vid as always lads and what a tidy van that one is
That van sounds as sweet as a nut and probably down to being looked after and a full service history!, wouldn't be surprised if it did another 100,000 with regular servicing!, and looks really tidy!! 👍
Love the Lord Nelson sunglasses Chris. Great turn around and a nice earner as well. I suspect there will be a lot of non ULEZ compliant vehicle on the market soon. 😎😎
Amazing content on the Ford Transit Custom guys. The van has changed so much with that wheel refurb and that full valet you had done. What a lovely quick turnaround Rob and Chris well guys keep it coming. The vans done almost 170000 you would never tell the difference the way the van looks and drives.
I'd expect at least 250K out of that van, it's been really well cared for by the looks of it. That'll make a fantastic workhorse (or mini-camper?) for someone, fellas.
Hello Rob and Chris, with the wheels sprayed it looks better, nice looking van and runs very quiet for the mileage.rthe valeters have done a brilliant job on the seats,it will sell quickly.
I bought a Transit back in 1993 met the seller at Aust Services near the old Severn Bridge at night. It was the best van I ever bought until it got nicked 7 years later.
Another perfectly good vehicle that is the victim of our loony mayor. Feel so bad for all the hard working tradesmen who now have to spend thousands in order to tick a box.
They're not 'ticking a box'... they're reducing the level of dangerous chemicals floating around in the air in the streets of London..which COULD be killing your children......! ...you should try to appreciate the bigger picture here ...
It's not the mayor it's the government too. We have it all happening here in Scotland and its daft. Aberdeen City is a car free area all bus gates then there is the lez areas. My work have 2 16 plate transits that we can't use in the city next year. Yet checked a vehicle I have access to a 2011 4.4 v8 tdi range rover autobiography black edition and that's OK to enter the lez areas no problems.
Another great video guys Not as many miles as my 2010 sprinter has 825,000 miles on the clock but drives spot on just had a new turbo on it few weeks ago 👍👍👍
What a lovely way to spend a summers day. Hardly any work and a nice bit of pocket money at the end. Well done guys and Chris did nothing?...well he helped change the wheels for an extra pot of coffee!!! Yes please, love to see more like this. It will be a good intro to folks who want to learn how to buy and sell, and what to do between the events. Cheers, Bob
Lovely end to end video, great to see the different types of projects from the simple to the involved, love the consideration of risk for Jo Public vs trade and agree, will make a nice bit of stock for a commercial trader and a good van for someone
The wheels were well worth doing, it would have been like a baker making a cake and not putting icing or decorations on the cake it wouldn't be right, its officialChris can fix anything even glasses. What a great looking van.
Thank you Rob/Chris , yes I love videos like this very enjoyable ! The wheels refurb made a massive difference looks like a van with 30,000 miles on it ! The only give away is the wear on the drivers side mat and the panel by the rear doors but that's been picky ! It's in astonishing condition considering the mileage well done guys !
Another outstanding video, thank you both very much!! 👌 The respect & admiration I have for you both & your channel is off the scale. You both deserve all the happiness & success in the world!! Best wishes
I loved that thumb nail Rob, I never watch that show but it made me laugh. I think it was worth doing the wheels it lifted the whole look of the van. The car wash guys did a great job once again and I think they deserve a mention even if it is not sponsored. Generally 170 k miles for a diesel engine is fine but I know these can have problems so I think your call is the right one Rob. Thanks for the quick turn around video Rob and Chris oh and happy birthday to Chris. 🎂 🕶 👍👍
Rob, on carvertical, does the highlight on damage go back to green once the vehicle is MOTed What a sweet looking transit and your bang on nobody would reckon on 170k on the clock even before the transformation
Those trims don’t get stolen Rob, the diesel drips when fuelling up wrecks the plastic clips and the trim eventually falls off. You’ll notice the rubber strip below is a bit soft from the diesel too
Good evening Chris and Rob, another great video , you are on a roll at the moment. A good days work for you both and Chris needs s new pair of sun glasses 😂. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video . Ged.
A Ford with rubbers that aren't attached, who would have guessed that would have been the case. I'm sure that's the modern version of the Mondeos that had tape on the bumpers. Very good profit from a days work as well, I'm sure you wouldn't complain about a few more quick turnarounds like this.
hello Rob& Chris, what a great van you have found - in a pub car park!! The only mark against this van is the high mileage - but, just look at the overall condition - amazing!! Through a dealer would be best - some one will have it!! Best wishes from Lincolnshire
Thanks Rob/Chris, it was sad to see it go as I've looked after it for so long. Appreciate all the comments too from you guys. Nice to meet you all.
From the geezer in the pub!
Alright geeeza! Best of luck
You have looked after that van
Ha ha it’s the geezer from pub selling a van 😂😂well done selling it to salvage rebuilds lovley but of content and well looked after van well done sir 👍🏽👍🏽
You kept it tidy that’s for sure. Unusual to see a van with a seat bolster not torn. Bloody ULEZ is a joke.
Did u get a battery powered van then you can see love in the van you mate are brill are you doing campervan stop overs at your pub
That fella has clearly looked after that van, it is VERY nice for the mileage. Great video as always Rob and Chris!
Watching you two is like having some mates in the room and a bit of banter. Keep the great videos coming guys!
You have to admire Rob's enthusiasm for most things he does.
Chris does make me laugh.
He's not tight, he's just extra careful.
😂😂😂
Very Very careful 😅
I like the quick turn rounds
Yeah!
Rob the wee crease at the bottom of the 1/4 is on both sides and Ment to be there , I learnt that the hard way the first time I repaired one as I’m panel beater 🤣👍

What an amazing transformation and that van will go on for a good few years yet. Doing the wheels was a master stroke and worth every penny.

Nice van, definitely wouldn't think it had done 170000. Doing the wheels, really does make a difference. 👍
No risk. No reward. Good luck to you both 👌
Nice one gents. Just shows that looking after something properly pays off 👍
This is what sets you gents apart. There’s those in the trade in the know and those that know their trade and you guys are definitely the latter. Nice turnaround and nice little vid as always. Cheers gents.

Is a van not a car?
In Denmark it is.@@malcolmmckinlay2143

Another quick van turn around Rob.Getting them wheels refurbished make a big difference freshens the van right up .👍🏻
