I love that this doesn’t leave a white film on my skin. I also love that I can put it on my skin after I do a liquid exfoliation with a 2% BHA (Paula’s Choice) with no burning.
I'm a brown guy who always has a white cast when using regular sunscreen. This was the perfect one for me. Other sunscreens look shiny/oily and burn my eyes so bad. This one looks nice and matte and actually feels good without burning my eyes.
This is the only sunscreen I have been able to use more on a daily, never been able to get on a routine with any other sunscreen just because it always felt to greasy or smelled. I’m so glad you made this video - love the Unseen but never knew if it really was a good product or I was just wasting my money at Sephora buying whatever they tell me to.
I tried so many sunscreen lotion. All of them ended up with white cast. But this one is the best best best ever!!. Of course it’s pricy but I loved it . It works for oily skin. Mine is very oily. Thank you
Love this sunscreen as well as the cheaper Trader Joe’s version. I love the silicone slippery feel
The dermstore’s own brand, “Daily Mineral Sunscreen, spf 40” is basically a tinted version of the supergoop unseen. The tint is very sheer so should work for most people (but not super dark) and also has a very similar silicony slip eventhough surprisingly is is mineral with 16% zinc oxide which could be a plus for some.
Good to know! I didn’t know they had their own brand- I need to look into that one.

Sorry i must have gotten mine on sale since i thought was alot cheaper. I guess you get a little more (1.75 oz vs 1.7 oz) but a good mineral alternative. I got a sample size fr them before so you may not hv to commit to the regular size unless u like it.
I’m surprised because I have oily/combo skin and when I use unseen it definitely feels like it evens me out. My only issue with it is that I can’t tell if i’m covering my whole face since I can barely feel it. lol.
It goes on like a silicone. Slippery feel at first. Once it soaks in that slip is gone. Dries to a matte/satin finish. More matte tho. I am not sure this wb good for oily skin types.
Thank you for the great review and demonstration of the product. For years I've tried to find a sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast on my face. While the supergoop is pricey, I'm willing to pay if it works for me.
I love the supergoop unseen sunscreen.. no white cast, glides on smoothly, and i use it as an under makeup cream
I find that the sun protection creams from Neutrogena work well for me and I have combination skin and live in the tropics. It does not clog my pores, does not leave it greasy to the touch and just works. My make up always goes great on top of it later on if I choose to use any. :) I was always more for the chemical sunscreens in the past but fell in love with the physical neutrogena one. It’s the one with yellow tube.

I’m down between this and the Kose sunscreen. The supergoop doesn’t burn my eyes and I love the finish. I just wish it was cheaper.
I still need to try that Kose sunscreen and yes- wish unseen was cheaper for sure
It also works really well as a primer for makeup. My foundation looks alot better with this underneath

That’s crazy you got pilling I’ve been using this and elta md clear for 3-4 years and never experienced pilling. I do tend to not layer both over each other. I notice it does dry down after about 30 min and typically wait about 30 min before putting makeup on just out of habit to always avoid pilling like most other sunscreens do. Loved your review
That’s super expensive. 1 oz for $40.? You need a 1/4 teaspoon per application? Wow!
Yes- very pricey for 1.7 oz (similar to many other “high end” sunscreens).
They fell and bumped their head.

Thanks for the review Dr. Sugai! I'm not a fan of Supergoop. I just find their price point be unnecessarily high. There are a ton of K and J sunscreens far better than this. I'm so surprised how much people love this sunscreen. Yes, it has zero white cast. No pilling. But it goes on so greasy and does not matte down very much at all. Can't use makeup over it because it just sits over the greasy film. Maybe if you use the dime-size amount that is recommended. But I do the 2 finger method that dermatologists all recommend, and you have a greasy river on your face. I'd rather use something with white cast and just cover it up with make up.
I love that you made this video! I’m going to Hawaii here soon & I realized I need to find something corral reef friendly when it comes to sunscreens. I’ve been eyeing this one for my face but yeah it is on the pricier end. Is the Supergoop glow any different besides the shiny it gives on your face?

I Love my tinted Elta MD UV Elements sunscreen, love the way it goes on and absorbs but I equally appreciate Super Goop's Unseen ability to blur pores and act as a primer...is it useful to combine my two favorite sunscreen? Is it possible to reap the UVA and moisturizing benefits of both if applied over one another at the same time...or is it just 2x as much money?

Hello, I have dry and acne prone skin as well, and although this sunscreen leaves a flawless matte finish, my skin broke out crazy after using the product for the first time. I would say try at your own risk and do more research on it because it is on the more pricey side. Hope this helped! :)
Really enjoying your videos. Very informative. Still in search for a matte sunscreen which doesn’t give me burny eyes. Tried maybe over 10. Chemical and mineral. Either dealing with a white cast or with burny eyes. I’m Pakistani so have a medium olive skin tone. Oh well. The search goes on. Sounds like this will be to shiny.

Dr Sugai, I’ve been wanting to start an antiperspirant treatment at night with aluminium, can I use it with retinoids? Or should I alternate them? Also, if I can use them together, when should I use it on my routine? (Ac hyaluronic serum -> Retinoid tretinoin -> Heavy moisturizer).

Hello Dr. Sugai, I have a question. I think this is a great sunscreen to pair with makeup. However will the sunscreen degrade faster if I pair this with a foundation with mineral spf? Or if I powder my face with powder spf?

US$40 for 50 ml, too expensive for me. Also it only has the old chemical ingredients, and only SPF 40 and PA +++, so I don't think its worth it for me.
If I use chemical sunscreens, I would just go with either European sunscreens or Japanese /Korean sunscreens (with confirmed third party testings), for newer, less irritating chemical sunblock ingredients, with higher protection SPF50+ and PA++++, and with much less expensive price.
More like less than SPF40, half those companies lied about their protection

@@beijaflor7693 I am using Korean chemical sunscreens. I like the Isntree hyaluronic watery sun gel. Also, heard that the Round Lab birch juice moisturizing sunscreen is also good.
