I have oily, sensitive, acne-prone skin. My top sunscreen under makeup is the litttlextra rice berry sunscreen SPF 50. It works well even with makeup. It’s actually quite brightening over time, I’m not sure what’s in it, but I really like that. I have already used about 3 to 4 bottles of this sunscreen. One more tip, I also apply rice berry face moisturizer under it and it ensures my skin stays hydrated.
My favorite face sunscreen is Cetaphil Sheer Mineral Face Liquid Sunscreen. It's cheap, has a lightweight pleasant texture, is water resistant, SPF 50 and contains prebiotics and Niacinamide. It does leave a white cast, but wears wonderfully under makeup! I have the LRP Toleriane UV one, and I do like it. I use it on my neck, because I cannot stand zinc sunscreen on my body, but I am allergic to most sunscreens ONLY on my neck! It doesn't irritate my neck like most!
Thank you so much for all the info on sunscreens , having mature combo skin and I don’t like glowing sunscreen because it makes me look so oily. I like a tint.
I've been using the Vanicream Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 🥰 My skin is very sensitive with rosacea, this sunscreen doesn't irritate my skin, it applies nicely with a matte finish. Thank you Dr. Sugai for sharing 😊
I have Rosacea too and I love using the Vanicream SPF60+ sunscreen! I have been using it for about 13 or 14 years now! Rosacea can really play Havoc with your skin!
I bought that tinted CeraVe sunblock. It was way too dark and orange for my skin. Made me look like I had liver disease. I love their products and wish they do better with their tint.
I'm currently using the LRP double repair SPF 30. But with my skin type, I've also enjoyed the Black Girl Sunscreen Kids SPF 50. The Olay Complete Daily Moisturizer SPF 40, Australian Gold (tinted mineral), Banana Boat Protection + Vit SPF 50 are supposed to be good. Have you tried the Bondi Sands for body?
You’re amazing with these awesome videos. Going to try a few you’ve mentioned that I’ve not heard of. Thanks doc for taking the time to do these. Very much appreciated. ❤
Thank you for all your reviews. 🙂👌🏽 If the tone do not fit, can I add Iron powder myself, made for cosmetic, to the sunscreen, so the color fits better? ( I always need a little Yellow)
Can you do a skin care vlog on solids for travel? Cleanser moisturizer, sunscreen, hyaluronic acid, vit c, retinol? I see they are out there, just not sure which ones are recommended. Thank you
Hi I’m 50 and would to know what to use for a simple morning and night routine. I use witch hazel and cerava face wash.I am a light skinned black woman.I like how informative you are. Thanks
Dr. Sugai: I have recently discovered your content on Instagram and UA-cam. Since a skincare routine can be overwhelming with so many products, I am grateful to have your reliable guidance. You do an excellent job of putting things into categories and recommending products from all different price points, including affordable drugstore options (such as Cerave), more expensive but still affordable mid-range options (such as Kiehl's), and expensive medical-grade options (such as Skinbetter). Since you have a partnership with Kiehl's, why didn't you feature some of their sunscreen products like Better Screen UV Serum SPF 50+ Facial Sunscreen with Collagen Peptide and Ultra Facial Cream SPF 30? Hopefully, you'll promote more products from Kiehl's in future content. Thanks again for your guidance!
What is best way to use brush on sunscreens? I have trouble seeing if they come out or not. Color science is expensive , but I can’t be sure it’s applying. Thank you
Hi Dr Sugai, I’ve recently became a fan of your channel. I did come across a video of you from a few years ago regarding concerns about sunscreens. You personally said you were going to stick with physical mineral sunscreens. But your recent videos you have been recommending a lot of chemical based sunscreens. Do you still feel this way about chemical/mineral sunscreens? I only ask because I’m just concerned about putting something that could be harmful everyday. Thanks!
Is it okay to replace my normal sunscreen with the CeraVe spf 50 lotion because it does 2 in one- both helps moisturize my face and acts as a sunscreen, or do I still have to add an additional layer of actual sunscreen to the CeraVe lotion?
I have both rosacea and struggle with perioral dermatitis (and in general sensitive skin). I use mild cleanser (CeraVe hydrating cleanser) and moisturizer (LRP Toleriane dermallergo cream) now which helps on this. But I need help finding a sunscreen/cc cream/bb cream which both covers up some of the rosacea and also is PD friendly. What can I try?
This might sound really stupid but as someone who has never used a tinted sunscreen do they blend into your skin completely or does it kinda look like foundation? I'm a little nervous of the look of the latter
Thank you, so much for the advice….,Ufff!l so many…. I like the sunforgettable total protection face shield flex from colorscience. Protects from UVA/UVB, pollution, blue light and IR. It is a natural finish. I am impressed about it. Water/ Sweat resistant (40 min).
The tinted sunscreen, especially if you have a darker shade, rubs off on everything. For a male, it's embarrassing to rub brown stuff from your faces and people think you are wearing makeup. 😅 Good for women, I don't want anyone to think I am in drag.
And for me, the tint oxidizes and immediately turns too dark and orange. I would not recommend it for anyone who has fair, light, light-medium skin unless they're trying to match a darker tan on their body.
Isdin is my favorite sunscreen! Funny how we’re all so different. It doesn’t sting my eyes at all, and after using it a couple of times I don’t even notice the fragrance. I don’t think it transfers any easier than any other sunscreen. And the tint is just right for me. I’m glad they make so many sunscreen so we can find the perfect one for ourselves.😄
@@MarniMediaI’m a light medium color and it’s the perfect time for me. Good thing so many different sunscreens are made, but can each find one to suit us😄
You have to wonder about his conflicts of interest when he’s promoting high-priced brands over others that are as safe, as effective and that are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. Effective sunscreen doesn’t have to be exorbitant, and of all people, a board-certified dermatologist should know that. What makes his channel problematic is that on the whole, his advice is sound and evidence-based, but it is also tainted by “recommendations” that promise lucrative kickbacks. Generics don’t pay that well.
Sun cream is a scam you should never encourage your followers to use sunscreen iam so surprised really please don’t use sun screen just get some rose water instead and don’t spend lots of time on sun

Absolutely. My skin glows too with rice-berry Sun Screen and face serum.
Where do you buy this product at?

Dr Daniel is always insightful and a great contributor to the cosmetic industry.
How about tinted Australian Gold Tinted mineral Sunscreen? I use this and was wondering how you would rate it.
Thank you so much for all the info on sunscreens , having mature combo skin and I don’t like glowing sunscreen because it makes me look so oily. I like a tint.
Have you checked out Tula Skin Radiant tinted spf? They have 30 shades to choose from. Love it.
Just purchased the non-tinted ISDIN product based on your recommendation. Currently 20% sale going on at the ISDIN website! 👍
This is my favorite sunscreen!
The tinted is totally different than the non tinted and is the best sunscreen I’ve ever tried (I’ve tried A LOT!) 😂
@@kpouteaux me too! I actually use both the tinted and non-tinted, both great products
Non tinted leaves a terrible white cast but I don’t care!
I keep breaking out in adult acne.. would you recommend the cerave mineral sunscreen?

@@Jasmine215100 Yes I agree - using sunscreen every day is a must especially with sensitive skin

I got the Vanicream SPF you had mentioned in a previous video and was surprised at how nice it blends. Thanks for all the recommendations 😊
I use Vanicream SPF 60+ for my dry, sensitive skin and I LOVE it! Most other sunscreens break me out, as I have skin allergies and Autoimmune disease!
Amazing doctor, thanks for your recommendation :)
Thank you doctor. I have been using Blue Lizard mineral sunscreen spf 50+. Love it so much.
Great to hear. Love that it’s available at the local targets and pretty affordable. Thanks for watching!
It looks so good! I'd be delighted to try it out! 😍👌

Thank You Dr. Sugai!! This is very helpful💜🩵🧡
Great video - very helpful. Maybe in the next one or an upcoming video you can talk about powder sunscreens! Thank you!
No matter what, there’s no comparison to the sunscreens from Europe. Same brands but somehow the formulation so much better.
Agree- those EU sunscreens are next level
Good Molecules sunscreen is a hybrid sunscreen it does have a chemical filter in the ingredients 😊
Hello ! Which is best for rosacea ? Thank you . Very good vídeo . Congratulations
i have rosacea too, amd i was recently perscribed rhofade! it's been working out for me

I just started the video and when you called 30s-40s "mature skin" I laughed. Now back to the video - used to live in Seattle BTW...
Have you tried Heliocare 360 mineral tolerance? It's my favorite sunscreen and it leaves no white cast on my skin. I find it incredible

Please am struggling with stretch marks green Bain’s and uneven skin color pls recommend best products for these 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Can you give your opinions on the sun buddies device for sunscreen application?

Any power type good for touchups if you are wearing makeup and want to go for a lunch walk? I can't really put liquid over blush etc.
Dr.Sugai, I’m turning 40, is it too late to start wearing sunscreen? I feel like damage is already done.

Thanks 👍😊🎉
Dr plz suggest for oily and pale skin without shiny
What is your opinion on Tizo 3 matte sunscreen?
Canada has La Roche Posay and Cicoplast! No need to go to Europe :)
The Isdin's are great...EXCEPT for the fragrance, eye sting, and the tinted one transfers readily.
