I live in Westerly. Yeah, that little down you'll hit on the way to the Misquamicut. I've lived in this state for twenty-two years of my life, and despite the negative stigma, and idiotic tourists asking there Quahog is, I love it. I can't imagine living anywhere else. You stay you, Little Rhody.

@Adolf Hitler true, while RI isn't an island, it has over 100 islands including Aquidneck Island (aka Rhode Island), the original location of RI colony (it's an English corruption of the Dutch "Roodt Eylandt", meaning "red island"). Aquidneck is one of the largest islands in the US. Block Island and Conanicut Island are also pretty huge.

Rhode Island is actually just referring to the large Island of Nantucket, the state's full name is "State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations" so Rhode Island itself is an island, but the rest of the state is made up of the Providence Plantations
